My friend and I saved a family years ago. A Mother and Father and their 6 year old son and their dog, they were in the middle of a 40 acre lake when their paddle boat started to sink. They said that was the very first time that they had used it after recently purchasing the boat. I had also just purchased a boat and my friend and I were out testing it when we saw them flagging us down. I bought a 18 foot Blazer with a 25 hp Merc on the back. We were literally the only ones on the lake that day and the family was out in the middle. There's no way they were going to be able to swim that far. The father offered us money afterwards but I couldn't except it. I was happy with the good Karma and knowing we saved them. We almost didn't go to that lake that day, we were gonna go to a different lake and changed our minds at the last minute. Love your videos bro, keep em coming!!!

Hopefully a little wiser on the water next time, but that could have happened to anyone. Especially since there wasn't supposed to be a water rise that day. But it just goes to show you that it's ALWAYS better to be safe than sorry. Wear your PFDs and make sure your kids are wearing them too. Way to go, Brandon and Jake!

I just love it when people help other people in time of need it's so heart touching sometimes it makes people cry you did a good deed you should be proud of that and many more times you may have to do something like this just knowing that God is giving you a the idea to go out there and just the right time when something bad happens you can help

The guy on the raft is with the police. They didn’t know if they would be there or not. They had no way of knowing there was a raft coming. It was just nice that they came right away to help, no questions asked. Took their life vests off and everything.
Honestly, i was thinking that too. They were really good in, if the raft dude didnt come then the family would be in trouble and they would have to swim each one of them across (which i thought was going to happen). But all they really did was walk them across the island 😂

As I said, I work with kids and I'm very impressed by how you handled it :)

I’m not sure you explained the chain of events well enough. That seemed severely over dramatized. Obviously a good deed was done but FATAL? I’ll give you “rescued” but “saved lives” is a stretch.
He said that the water was rising. So when they went out to the lake, the water lever was probably way lower. And then when it started to rise, they were virtually stuck on an island. The father was with his kids who probably didn't know how to swim to well, and the current is strong. So they can't go anywhere, and if the water rises anymore they would drown. That's what I'm assuming
Yes thats the situation, but the reality was that it was not FATAL (deadly) as the title says, and it the man in the raft that actually saved six lives.

I’m not sure you explained the chain of events well enough. That seemed severely over dramatized. Obviously a good deed was done but FATAL? I’ll give you “rescued” but “saved lives” is a stretch.

He said that the water was rising. So when they went out to the lake, the water lever was probably way lower. And then when it started to rise, they were virtually stuck on an island. The father was with his kids who probably didn't know how to swim to well, and the current is strong. So they can't go anywhere, and if the water rises anymore they would drown. That's what I'm assuming
Yes thats the situation, but the reality was that it was not FATAL (deadly) as the title says, and it the man in the raft that actually saved six lives.
