Btw Jared, you should pretty much always generate a report after each game to earn extra research points and get more helpful tips on which combos work better
When he was talking about finding someone else's briefcase I expected him to yell something like "DUALWIELDING BRIEFCASES!". Sounds like a super wacky game that could also be played co-op with the dude (or gal) at the other side of your cubicule.
His computer sits in an alternate dimension. As he floats in a space outside space and time. Just him and those two walls and his inter dimensional computer.
I like how you can pick just the most ridiculous combos. For example, Business/Action!! Punch out your competitors to work your way up and occasionally stop to do taxes and pay for the inevitable lawsuits! Edit: Oh okay, wasn't expecting him to actually do it.
Sounds just as crazy as Ninja Golf...a game where you fight off ninjas, dragons and other odd things...while trying to play a full game of golf. (No. Really. This is a real game. For a real console. Neither are 'too well known'.)
I love this game! I could imagine one of those residential zones in Procity (Sim City SNES LP) has this guy making games in his garage and as he progresses one of those Commercial zones becomes his office where below his office sells his video games. This is now my head-canon!
As soon as I saw this in my notifications I came here as fast as I could. Anyone who streams/LPs this and has even the most remote amount of improv experience will get so much mileage out of this game. This game is a blast to play to an audience, and is honestly the best way to experience it IMO.
Compared to other Game Dev Tycoon Plays ive seen, yours stands out mostly because you present your ideas of what the hypothetical game youre currently developing would be, which is awesome
I'll admit I was gonna let this one pass me by as LPs of these types of games aren't my bag (I'd rather just play them) but the way you're explaining the thought, logic, & fluff behind the games you're making is really charming. I'm definitely watching this series through.
I wish this game was more complex in its systems and mechanics, maybe add rival companies, have ways to sway the market interest etc. At least maybe for a different mode, I get that it is trying to emulate the history of gaming, but it was just a bit too simple for me. But I sure as hell enjoy seeing people play this! Do more :D
I agree. And there are only a couple good combinations for each genre, so there is only one real way to be successful in this game. You are railroaded into making certain choices if you want your games to sell well, otherwise you won't last long.
I agree. Though some of the choices Jared makes aren't every helpful. He makes a Horror Action game and goes full on dialog instead of level design and sound. Doesn't help he was talking about Zombies while Zombies are their own topic.
I've had this one on my Steam wishlist for a while, that you for this series! These videos really help because I don't have a *ton* of money to spend on games, and watching gamers that I enjoy play stuff, helps me pick.
This is probably all done in one day/sitting, but doing Game Reports is by far, the most useful thing to do. It generates research points and gives you tips on what works in regards to the genre and topic of that game.
Oh man, I'm excited for this. I love watching you play games in general, but for some reason, the simulation games are my absolute favourite of yours to watch!
This game is all about numbers. In order to get good reviews you just have to have the sliders in the right places for the games you're trying to make. Thats honestly it.
Everyone absolutely adored my Vampire Action Game Phantom Blood for Ninvento Entertainment System that came out in 1988. It got 9 and kicked off a whole series. That went on for generations. (Let’s see if anyone gets the reference).
It seems weird to me that there's a game that simulates creativity and new ideas when there's probably definitely an absolute limit on what kind of games you can make and the game's ability to appreciate/reward it. That said, I look forward to seeing where this goes. Jared's actually outlining and spit-balling game concepts is great.
You know, I really think Procity needed to go back to it's roots. The very first game they made is still their best one to this day. Imagine how popular a new take on that would be, with all those amazing new technologies and ideas! Lemonade Stand Extreme 2 could be awesome!!
Yet another game I'm gonna have to buy. Thank you, Jared, for showing me this game. I'm not thrilled about having to spend more money, but hey, new game!
Okay, guys, we *need* to purchase Jared's merch. Not because he told us to, but because we have to make sure that he never has to get a job at corporate.

Briefcase Bonkers is not the masterpiece we deserve, it is the one we need. It is up there with KillButt, that good.
I'm literally watching this while being stuck crunching at work. I'm so meta. ...I should totally make our bug tracker play that popping sound effect every time someone fixes a bug.
How about an Editor Simulator? It's a stealth action simulator game where you have to edit videos for random clients that are keeping you hostage because they want to be famous TH-camrs, but don't have any technical skill. So you have to edit their videos during the day and try to plan your escape by night. It has multiple endings depending on how you edit their videos, because you can choose to put all your points into your charm stat and make them think you like them, but at the same time put subliminal messages in the videos to call for help...and then there's the ending where you become the leader of the gang, but you have to go full renegade on that run.... And now I'm off to buy some merch...
Painful, I like it. Better get those reports Jared, this game is not about buiness, but finding perfect combinations of genre and what should be in them.
I'm guessing Lead Hope had like a kickass cover art and a cool pitch, but the actual story was nowhere to be found (not even in the environment storytelling!), so critics felt it was just another shooter, but one professional dude was impressed by the level design or something. I also can imagine how Lemonade Stand Xtreme was addictive and witty, with hilariously overblown stakes described to you at the start of a level (the world is ending! only your humble stand can save us!).
Even if this he fails next episode (the bank's gonna get 'em), I'd love to see more of this game. This has been a very addictive game of mine and would gladly watch it until he beats it (maybe even more if he does piracy mode, but it's Jared).
"Buy my merch' " Wait....You have MERCHANDISE?!? :O Gon get me a blue ProJared shirt! Which is like a regular blue shirt but twice the price and from the ProJared shop!
"it's dystopian but hopeful"
me, immediately, out loud, to absolutely no-one: *dyst-hope-ian*
This Dope Ian

Btw Jared, you should pretty much always generate a report after each game to earn extra research points and get more helpful tips on which combos work better
Zacc Thank you I was yelling at my screen
I have a hard time watching lets plays cuz of shit like that lol. Thanks
Zacc the game doesnt explain how good it is so most people dont do it
Missed opportunity with the business action game. Could have called it Boss Fight
Jared should name a game Hydlide. If that doesn't get 10/10 I don't know what else will.
riemaennchen I
And then two even better sequels: Super Hydlide and Virtual Hydlide!
And the latter is of course just a 3D remake of the first one because why create a new game if your old one is good enough right?
If you dont get the joke, Hydlide was the first ever Nintendo game.
No that was donkey kong hydlide was released 1 year before zelda 1 which was released late into the nes' lifetime
I would totally play Briefcase Bonkers! I believe in Procity Games!
When he was talking about finding someone else's briefcase I expected him to yell something like "DUALWIELDING BRIEFCASES!". Sounds like a super wacky game that could also be played co-op with the dude (or gal) at the other side of your cubicule.
It'd be an awesome game! Just a game that'd waste a few minutes per game.
You should totally look into Suits: A Business RPG
Check out "Cohen's Towers" - an actual business action game of the time period that would compete against Briefcase Bonkers
same "NOT NOW BITCH"
I now have a sudden need of buying some ProJared merch
David Pérez i think the words you are looking for are "A MIGHTY NEED"
"Jared... Never get a desk job."
Doesn't Jared technically already have a desk job?
What's his computer sitting on? A crate?! ;p
GreyHulk2 Order now and get a Jared Crate full of ProJared cool gear for just 39,99€ a month.
My pc is actually on a crate, my chair is a pillow.
His computer sits in an alternate dimension. As he floats in a space outside space and time. Just him and those two walls and his inter dimensional computer.
I loved this series when it was coming out. I figured that I’d stop by and rewatch it after his video sharing his side.
Binge away!
I was kinda hoping the thief game was gonna be called "The Adventures of Diath Woodrow" or something.
Heh. And the inevitable, gritty 2014 remake would just be called "Woodrow".
I was hoping for "Feef"
That's too elaborate of a game title for the 80's. Need to save that one for the early-to-mid 90's.
I like how you can pick just the most ridiculous combos. For example, Business/Action!! Punch out your competitors to work your way up and occasionally stop to do taxes and pay for the inevitable lawsuits!
Edit: Oh okay, wasn't expecting him to actually do it.
He certainly did. Wanna play some Briefcase Bonkers?
Great, now I actually want to make a game like that! (Yes I do have Unity installed on my laptop.)
Neko Cassowary Yakuza 0?
there's probably some game like that. lot of early games went for some gimmick to stand out
Sounds just as crazy as Ninja Golf...a game where you fight off ninjas, dragons and other odd things...while trying to play a full game of golf. (No.
Here I am again watching one of the best series on this channel. I've watched it many times, but it never gets old.
"Do I really want to release this? Fuck it." Jared has become SEGA
"Lead Hope... So it's dystopian, but hopeful."
One might even say it's dystHopeian.
I'll admit I was gonna let this one pass me by as LPs of these types of games aren't my bag (I'd rather just play them) but the way you're explaining the thought, logic, & fluff behind the games you're making is really charming. I'm definitely watching this series through.

I agree. And there are only a couple good combinations for each genre, so there is only one real way to be successful in this game. You are railroaded into making certain choices if you want your games to sell well, otherwise you won't last long.
Well yeah but realistically speaking, how would you even pull a Business/Action game off?
+EskChan19 Hold my soda, I'm about to do something crazy..
I agree. Though some of the choices Jared makes aren't every helpful. He makes a Horror Action game and goes full on dialog instead of level design and sound. Doesn't help he was talking about Zombies while Zombies are their own topic.
Very late response but Software Inc. seems to be going in the direction you want.
Jared, I love your imagination. The stories that you come up with for these things make it so fun to watch.
I've had this one on my Steam wishlist for a while, that you for this series! These videos really help because I don't have a *ton* of money to spend on games, and watching gamers that I enjoy play stuff, helps me pick.
SUPER psyched for this, I forgot how much I loved this light sim game.
Oh boy, this is gonna be good. Looking forward to more!
This is probably all done in one day/sitting, but doing Game Reports is by far, the most useful thing to do. It generates research points and gives you tips on what works in regards to the genre and topic of that game.
Super excited for more of this Jared!
Glad to see you play this. Love to see others play it, not so much myself. Please continue ^^
Oh man, I'm excited for this. I love watching you play games in general, but for some reason, the simulation games are my absolute favourite of yours to watch!
Make your own version of SimCity, but call it ShamCity or SimShitty, or Hospital Destroyers.
Definitely Hospital Destroyers given his recent history
I'd greenlight Hospital Destroyers in an instant!
What about Cheatcity
I want that Stolen Nights game. I love thief games so one where you work your way up robbing houses to mansions sounds awesome.
Jared setting himself up for his own Final Fantasy game haha. Should name it Fighting Fantasy for the dope references!
Krane2000 That's taken
This game is Ms. Editor-approved.
Steven Chung yes it is 👌🏻
Jared....I would seriously play ANY AND ALL of the games you are describing. They sound awesome and hilarious.
This game is all about numbers.
In order to get good reviews you just have to have the sliders in the right places for the games you're trying to make. Thats honestly it.
I also love this game! It's really cool to see new videos on it!
Really would love to see more of this
I just love how jared like makes all these backstories and ideas for his games only to have them get 2s and 3s in the end
Thanks Jared! I didn’t even know about this game until now but I’ve since purchased it and am starting my own game thanks to this series.
lemonade stand extreme > lemonade tycoon
I still remember watching your One Minute Review on this game. How time flies.
Everyone absolutely adored my Vampire Action Game Phantom Blood for Ninvento Entertainment System that came out in 1988. It got 9 and kicked off a whole series. That went on for generations.
(Let’s see if anyone gets the reference).
Is that a Jojo reference?
nothing will ever be as good as the killbutt series
It seems weird to me that there's a game that simulates creativity and new ideas when there's probably definitely an absolute limit on what kind of games you can make and the game's ability to appreciate/reward it. That said, I look forward to seeing where this goes. Jared's actually outlining and spit-balling game concepts is great.
I love how indepth these game descriptions are.
Jared - "Buy my merch." Busted me up good. XD
oh this game + Jared is a GOOD combo. I'm expecting gr8 titles.
This is fun. Please make more and bring on the crazy RPGs!
Watch as Dead Hand Grabbin becomes a cult classic years down the road
man the new camera is really good!
also this game is soo good to watch
Wow, I totally forgot about this game. Thanks for the throwback!
When he was describing Stolen Night, I was like: "He's literally ripping off Sneak Thief isn't he?"
Okay, guys, we *need* to purchase Jared's merch. Not because he told us to, but because we have to make sure that he never has to get a job at corporate.
Briefcase Bonkers is not the masterpiece we deserve, it is the one we need. It is up there with KillButt, that good.
I love this game, i need to see more of this!
I would play most of these games. Go Procity Games!
I'm literally watching this while being stuck crunching at work. I'm so meta.
...I should totally make our bug tracker play that popping sound effect every time someone fixes a bug.
Oh man, I’m so glad your playing this! This game is one of my favorite simulators on steam
AVGN Episode 160 Dead Hand Grabbin.
I'd totally watch that! :D

Dead Hand Grabbin;? Grabbin what an ass full of shit?

I'm grabbin' something i'm grabbin' a piece of assholian horse shit
This was awesome! Can't wait to see more! :D

Don't you dare and drop this, Jerd. We want the whole playthrough.
Please play more. Love this game.
I love these tycoon games
*buys all the merch*
Wait, what's all this from?...
Super happy to see you play this Jared!
Please continue. Is fun to watch.
Thief/Adventure
Call it "Woodrow". World design, Dialouge, and Level design are king.
I love that Miss Editor is saying a lot of the things I'm thinking
I respect and adore you, Jared
8:49 Jared making every fps out there lol
Painful, I like it.
Better get those reports Jared, this game is not about buiness, but finding perfect combinations of genre and what should be in them.
- The ‘garage’? Hey fellas, the ‘garage’! Well ohh-la-di-da, mister Gamedevman.
- Well, what do you call it?
- A game hole.
Did not know this game was still updated, got me to replay!
"It's dystopian, but hopeful"
An accurate summary of what's left of us in his fanbase.
Salty Stick aHA, almost on time for his response
I love this game and cant wait what game u will create :D
"Lemonade Tycoon"
"Rich Hood"
"Lead Zepplin."
"Business as Usual"
"Bloody Bride"
"Bloody Bride: Dismembered Divorce"
Great video, please keep playing this game.
Jared: "Business... Strategy...?"
Me: "Business Action!"
Jared: "Business Action!"
In 20 years, that world's version of Jared will be reviewing Dead Hand Grabbin' for the NES and giving it an handful/10
Hell yeah, GDT! Get that 1st million-seller before 1995!
Oh, Jared. You're just Square pre-Final Fantasy. Keep going and, when you are on the brink of loss, you will make something beautiful
Briefcase Bonkers is top ten!
I forgot how satisfying the "plop" sounds are in this game..
BUSINESS ACTION, NO MORE BORING REPORTS, ITS A LIFE OR DEATH SITUATION- ok I went to far..
Gosh, this is such a great game. I was happy just seeing the notification.
I'd like to imagine one of Jared's fans is an Alternate Universe ProJared that makes scathing reviews of all of the shovelware he's releasing.
It's a cute little game and I absolutely love it.
just started this game and i'm enjoying it.
I would've made the Lemonade stand an action game personally.
Wow! A literal 0/10 from Star games!
It's so weird, I suddenly feel compelled to buy ProJared merch!
I Love this game!
Also Jared Bro, need more game reports
16:55 Thank you miss editor, I was thinking the same thing lol.
Jared's back, woohoo! I hope you had a great break. :)
>makes dystopian game
>no worldbuilding
>no dialogue
“Whys my game bad”
King Jargle the Bold, how much money do I have to donate to make Briefcase Bonkers a thing? Do you have a Kickstarter set up yet?
you can find the kickstarter at dyickstarts.kom/thisisntreallyathing :P
The amount of games you were able to churn out in the span of 30 minutes would put the Romaine Brothers to shame!
Even if this he fails next episode (the bank's gonna get 'em), I'd love to see more of this game. This has been a very addictive game of mine and would gladly watch it until he beats it (maybe even more if he does piracy mode, but it's Jared).
Love buiness simulator games, glad to see that one on your channel. Also, love Miss Editrice comments XD!
"Buy my merch' "
Wait....You have MERCHANDISE?!? :O Gon get me a blue ProJared shirt! Which is like a regular blue shirt but twice the price and from the ProJared shop!
I would play so many of these games.
Lemonade stand extreme in particular
