Super helpful . I'm living in central California and rent is super high . I'm 25 thinking of just saving for a small boat and living on a dock . I just looked it up the docks near me are 6.50 to 8.75$ I'm guessing per foot
If your happy than cost isn't an issue. I pay more than that for a little slip on a lake here in Missouri. That's cheap for insurance I think. I envy your life. That's cheap living. And your totally free!!! Love to you and your FurBaby. God Bless you and stay safe. 😎🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾
Her costs are not bad at all. My mortgage with VA loan in the DMV in 2014 is $1,119 and HOA is close to $100. I have solar and my car is paid off. Water is so cheap I can pay that several months at a time. Maybe $20 a month? Not to mention $130 for car and house insurance.

Make sure you are changing the AC filter that simple thing can make it work again , and suck the water out of the pipe that keep the moisture out of the air, in guess you have too much water evaporation in the cause you love in the water
A little FYI ... you need to replace the Anodes on those pontoons regularly because saltwater eats aluminum very quickly and they’ll start leaking and will just get worse and a very short time
Thanks for your comment! I was told after painting my boat like I have it it needs cleaned only once a year? I should probably make sure that's right haha
Hi! Thank you! And I don’t only because I don’t like to share my location and I’ve only been in one so far. And you can do either! Annual is cheaper for sure.
Good to see a pretty young lady who has the courage to live her dream. I am sure you get people telling you not to live this way but I think it is wonderful. You must be very happy, simple but fun lifestyle. Remember this, life is not about accumulating objects as they don’t mean much very shortly, the things people cherish are memories of experiences that you have had. Take care, thanks for sharing.

Hahah you’d be surprised there’s a ton of us water girls out there. I get a lot of questions from fellow ladies trying to live on a boat as well! You got it.

Find a woman who enjoys the lifestyle you enjoy, so you can laze on the water on a sunny Sunday morning eating fish tacos for breakfast 😉 that’s what makes a relationship
That's less than my real-estate taxes alone! I am surprised how reasonable your marina is. My experience up the east coast was ~$3/ft per night! The west coast was 'don't ask'. Also impressed with the low 'mortgage' on your new, nicely appointed boat. You must have done well in both price and rate. I do have one question. You mention a trailer cost but no mention of the substantial truck it takes to pull it. How do you handle that?
@@houseboatgirl4764 Fortunately, having a 2 story box boat is super efficient when they charge by the foot. You have the living space of a 50 footer and the slip fee of a 24. You seem to be fairly self sufficient (maybe need more water tank capacity) so you could anchor out most of the time. The great thing about trailable boats is you have so many options. There are lots of fresh water marinas. Your boat would be awesome for a summer around the Erie canal and the finger lakes for a summer, spend a fall week in the Hudson doing NYC. Then trailer back south for the winter. I just started your series. I look forward to seeing where you plan to cruise.
This is so thorough and awesome, but I'd love to know roughly WHERE you are, since it probably has an impact on how much all this stuff costs...is it Wilmington (tag on the video) because...are there alligators there????
@vasailpwr @SEichorn is right! It’s actually a way I save money, even though it comes out to about 800. In a few years it’ll be even less when I pay off the boat! And yes I trailer the boat!
Ok. Bad word choice I suppose. I meant, “What is it that you do that allows you to live this wonderfully frugal, if not unconventional, water borne lifestyle?” Perhaps there is an idea for future content. 🙂
Hi. Have you taken the boat out much? I saw the video where your motor died, but didn't get any idea of your personal mobility. Thanks . 953 subscribers, good for you.

Wow - once your boat is paid off you have some pretty cheap living. Way cheaper, nicer, and safer than renting a little dump apartment in San Francisco or some other big crapola city.
