    I’ve noticed that most people are messy. It’s a shame. Your home is a reflection of your mind

    Cleaning is VERY IMPORTANT! One of the most important professions we have. Along with the doctors and nurses and garbage collectors. Where would be be without them. Please be respectful and considerate.

      @@AskAngelaBrown Maybe I should say more. Folks? Teach your children well. As soon as they are old enough, teach them to keep up with their things, pick up after themselves. Make a mess and CLEAN IT UP. And, do YOU like a nasty garbage can? NOBODY DOES! As best as you are able, keep your garbage and garbage can clean and contained. They will be messes, sure. But be respectful as best you can. And guess what! Your garbage can doesn't have to stink!

    Been married almost 46 years. Always had a house cleaner. When Covid came last year I still wanted a clean house but couldn't have someone come in anymore. I was overwhelmed. Cleaning the whole place once a week was stressful. I'm not an organized person by nature. A friend gave me a copy of her cleaning schedule. Monday was bedroom, Tuesday was bathroom, Wednesday was kitchen, Thursday was living room, Friday was anything else. The duties for each day were laid out specifically. I am able to do it! Then I started watching your videos so I could do it well! I feel a good sense of accomplishment and I know my house is really clean. Yes, each week it needs to be done again but not always to the same degree. Your idea about touch it once is great. Thanks for your excellent information.

    Great advice! The only thing I would add is that if you don't have time to clean and your house is always a mess, then think about living with less. Less stuff is less to clean and less space is less to clean. Some people have way too much stuff.

    I find it interesting that people who like to cook will go to a restaurant and pay someone to cook for them, but people who hate to clean won't pay someone to clean for them. I'd rather have someone clean my house than eat out if I had to choose, but maybe that's just me. Love your story of the sky only falling on Thursday lol!

      Having people come in to clean was freedom from chasing dirt. Yes, I cleaned up after meals, vacuumed a few times a week and swept. That left the deep clean to them! My mom laughed at me but I picked up before they came. Actually, that kept me on point, PUT IT WHERE IT BELONGS.

    It's great to have affirmation for my clean-as-you-go style. My husband it the "big-clean" sort of person and he never understood how doing small jobs as I see them could result in a basically clean house. I've never needed more than a quick tidy to be ready for company! ;) Now in my 70s I have someone come in to clean every fortnight, but I still clean-as-I-go between times. Also, you didn't mention how having less "stuff" around can help keep a house tidy. We've decluttered a lot and are now working on hidden clutter in closets, bureaus, etc. Amazing how easy it is to keep the house neat and my cleaner can do our whole 8 room, 2 bath house in about 2-3 hours.

    I have played around with routines that don't wipe me out. Sat and sun I do one of my bathrooms...each take 15 mins inc. the floor. Sunday I put a meal in slow cooker for Monday night"s dinner....this leaves my evening free to clean. I do an 1.5 hour clean which includes dust shine..and all floors. Then house is clean. Tues to Friday I reserve 15 mins Max per day to detail clean an area . I break my home into zones and attack one zone each week. I set a timer. If I don't get all done on list no prob as will hit this zone again in a few weeks. This keeps home clean...then don't have massive spring cleaning to do. I don't feel overwhelmed or defeated by doing things in parts. I got this routine from fly lady and adapted to my needs.

    I am a “touch it once” person. It is so much easier to keep the house picked up when you just take a minute to put things back where they belong. I am retired now and I love my house to look clean and tidy so it is very important to me to keep on top of things every day. I spent so many years running for people, after people, with people that now my favorite word is “no”! This is my time now and I get my house taken care of first thing in the morning and the rest of the day is mine. Love your videos!

    I’ve moved in to a roommate situation, so the two other roommates are clean, however, I enjoyed so much moving everything and deep cleaning the floor and refrigerator and bathroom for free. The “BIG CLEAN” for fun :) I bought us paper plates and bowls and plastic ware. I enjoy the simplicity, like I said, it was rather clean already. Thanks Angela

    I live in small 2 bedroom apartment and doing a room a day and 1 load of laundry everyday except the weekends keeps my home in order without overwhelming me. Every now and then I skip cleaning and do some decluttering instead which makes the home easier to manage.

    Cleaning is very important and necessary for us to live a healthy,happy life. So that's pretty important!! We all really need a clean house but,we don't always want to do it. So its important for me to have it done. I just tell them I need time for my own family stuff. Just SET LIMITS FOR THESE PEOPLE! You must,even if they are your family and friends. Also, family members must help-yes even if they are 5yrs and they must help to keep it that way! Please ask them to help you;your kids need to see you and husband work together on this and see how nice it is to have a clean sanitary house. We need to teach our families to see this is necessary for our lives and it's something we ALL do to help out.💜👍😃

    Because of my lower energy levels (being older with some physical issues), I have to do a little at a time, which sometimes doesn't always work well. Like I've been cleaning my microfiber couch a little at a time. So I go in the kitchen one afternoon and it looks like a herd of muddy elephants had been walking across the kitchen floor. And I'm thinking, with the smaller amount of energy I have to clean things (or do anything else), that I was going to just have to wait till I was able to clean the floor which ended up being about 2 days later. I was only able to clean about half of the floor, but it looked a lot better afterwards though. Now I'm back to working on the couch lol.

    • @Sheryl777
      @Sheryl777 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I like your ideas about doing things "as you go" rather than waiting till later. It is a lot easier if people have certain routines they do yeah. I heard someone say that when you're getting ready to leave a room, look around quickly, and if you see something that doesn't belong in that room, as you're leaving, take it with you and put it in the right room. And do that every time you leave a room.

    I suggest wet clean on one day and dry clean on another, if your doing it yourself. I know on a wet clean day, I wear old clothes I dont care if they get bleach stains.
