- Vicinity Energy's Grand Avenue plant heats and cools buildings like the T-Mobile Center in downtown KC.
It's a strategy known as district energy that's both greener and more affordable for large property owners. And sometimes. we see evidence of it wafting up from streets and sidewalks.

I would watch stuff like this about KC all day long.
Kc star should do more content like this. I’m not native to kc and I find kc history really interesting
In Sweden almost every city has district heating.
Great people there.
Always wondered what that building with smoke stacks was for, now I know!
awesome video!
I ALWAYS WONDERED WHAT WAS IN THAT BUILDINGS. #COLDSTORAGELOFTS
Super cool! I had no idea that this was a thing!
Very interesting concept. A number of plants use cooling towers. This plant uses river water.
Continuing to invest with modern efficient generation equipment like in Europe. Many power generation facilities there make more profit from District heating compared to Electric generation. My utility just installed machines like these far from anywhere, just to make electricity and dump the heat into the City water supply. If Only They would have put it where it could be used as a heat source as well. Matanuska Electric Association.
Beautiful place. Always thought it was a candy or food factory.
