when new car prices go up because of tariffs, used car prices will go up as well. has nothing to do with EV or not. however, EV devaluation is slightly higher because of their higher development speed.

The first time I went to an oil refinery, I noticed that every car in the parking lot was backed in.
Consider the fact that most charging spots you can reach the charging cable to your charge port from either side if the charge port is front center or front far enough forward, this is a tremendous bonus !!!! so whether you back in or pull in is very insignificant in regards to charging compared to being able not to block other drivers when you’re charging!

Europe is trying to go back to “clean diesel”. How far the mighty have fallen
they won't. maybe they lower the CO2 fleet emission standards a bit but for sure not too much. Yes, VW, BMW, Mercedes etc. are working hard to make progress, but they also have some success. the ID.7 is selling well, the Skoda Elroq will be the best seller EV of 2025, BMW EV sales increased, Mercedes is coming with their CLA, Renault will sell the R5 very well. even Fiat looks in a tiny better shape after releasing their new Panda EV.
Maybe not everything roses and rainbows but there is progress. and probably not enough to fulfill the 2025 CO2 emission standards but they will find a compromise.
and no going back to "clean diesel". EV sales are already higher than pure diesel cars.
Mighty they were in 1944.
@ They will drop it. And increase the gazoline and Diesel output. They will stop EVs and everything “green” soon because they can not afford the tariffs from China and the USA.

Except for *Tesla* since their cars are *the **_most_** US made...* (It's an accident of history, but for *Tesla* it's a _happy_ one.)
yes, but many forward thinking people now hate musk and don't buy one, even after admitting that they have good cars. but i guess that teslas also have cheap parts in it that are not made in the US, like window motors or displays etc.
30% of Tesla parts come from outside the USA. So on a 40K car 30% is 12,000 then 25% tariff is 3000 in tax.
@@stefanweilhartner4415 25% of a few cheap parts won't add too much to the cost of the vehicle.

There’s no question charging ports being on the front of the vehicle in my mind is the best option. It’s so much easier to pull up to a charger and see where you’re pulling and get in the right spot! now I think the ones that are close to the driver‘s door are too far back. They should be like Rivian or Ford E transit or Mercedes-Benz E sprinter vans in the front middle or Further forward than back by the front of the driver‘s door… that way you can reach the cord across from either side in a parking spot. It’s just better all the way around and I have a Ford E transit and have found this front center charging port location to be far superior than anything else that I own, and I own several others different charging port locations, different manufacturers, but I’m thoroughly convinced that front center or front somewhere way up front is by far the best.
It all depends on the driver. I for one almost always reverse park even before car sensors existed. Putting it in front… bleah
The rivian guy said they didn't do the front nose to avoid possible damage from minor front accidents

Well, Autoline can stop the drama now and get back to reporting about cars again. Canada increased its border security and appointed someone specifically in charge to deal with Fentanyl. The tariffs, as we all knew, never happened. I'm waiting to hear why both of those Canadian government changes are "bad things".
Mexico and Canada = 300% tax to Tesla
Then just have the automakers pay for the value add aka VAT from their treating mexico and canada like it was one country. Pita but their own fault. Their erp can handle vat. I guess trump has to say treat it as vat first. Or, the automakers just have to readjust their supply chain take out final assembly work and do that in the us. Grace period just for automakers and parts suppliers.

The only way to counter rampant theft via surreptitious currency manipulation is to impose tariffs. There is no length a country won't go to 'prove' it's not manipulating the currency. Tesla shut down the Model Y lines in all it's factories for 3 weeks to retool for the new Model Y, and the Model Y is it's biggest seller, by a lot. No one speaks about the used EV resale value. ICE still king of the used resale value.
Hmm no not really since some ice cars value also drop
In fairness that is a recent trend. EV's before the pandemic held their values well and during covid, used EVs were worth more than new EVs however their values have tanked since cheaper EVs are now contributing to the massive EV value declines. Used to be you could buy a Tesla, drive it around for a couple of years and sell it for almost what you paid for it, not anymore, they tank in value just like an ICE car as soon as you drive it off the lot.
