At the end of match 2 (20:15) you didnt even need to draw a land to be lethal. The hell kite bargained using a treasure combined with the devastator would have been enough as well

I really love mono colored stuff more than the combinations, cause it always gets so muddy about what their identity is - except for ravnica, but that's because they don't really have mono colored units that half support 2 different multicolored playstyles.

Do Battles come back under the controllers control? Afaik they come back under their owners control, so attacking a stolen invasion would be really bad.
I never got to test it, but battles aren't like "Teleportation Circle" or "Nicol Bolas, the Ravager" where it tells you that the card gets exiled and then returned under its owner's control. Their ruling says “When the last defense counter is removed from this permanent, exile it, then you may cast it transformed without paying its mana cost.” which means that it produces a trigger that is controlled by the player who controlled it at the time the last counter was removed from it. The card's owner is never mentioned, so it should have been LVD as the controller of the battle (and of the trigger) who gets to cast it, which would put it under his side of the battlefield.
Might be getting that confused with the Praetors like Elesh Norn and Sheoldred that exile themselves before transforming. Battles shouldn't have that issue since they're being cast by the same player that exiles them.
20:20 pretty sure Virtue + Devastator would have gotten then even if you didnt have a land 4 treasure + 3 lands to cast virtue still leaves you with 6 lands or X=15
Think so, the first virtue replaces tapping a land for 1 with tapping it for 3, since you’re still tapping a basic for mana the second triples it again to 9.
Considered that one too, probably not as good as just a burn spell in a lot of circumstances unless we get to attack multiple times on a mostly empty board.
the main upside i think would be that its likely more resilient to single target destruction spells but weaker to damage board wipes (idk if they are currently very meta) since both are pretty rough against the ever common sweepers. the other being the swarm gets around reach better. which you could just play around instead. also a huge downside is they cant block whereas the devastator can often block favorably and has flying to block those pesky chicks@@LegenVD

I also prefer the original titles fwiw, but I would be doing myself a disservice if I didn't try to improve.
Meh, this just feels like an Etali deck, Etali is the big brother who has to babysit his baby brother and sister Shivan and Virtue. While Shivan and Virtue are running around doing god knows what, Etali is doing all the work on his own pretty much. And Azusa feels extra worthless in this deck for some reason. Not impressed in the slightest by that card tbh.
A higher land count would make it look better, but just got a little unlucky with the times we drew it. Never been much of a fan either, but there aren't many non-creature ramp options at 2 mana for getting to 7 lands for Stomper.
@@LegenVD Honestly think removal would be better suited than that Azusa saga card for this deck. It did nothing in these games tbh. Every single time. You got out the heavy hitters without that saga pretty easily, Topiary was doing a lot of work. Or just mana dorks in place of that really.

Matchmaking had an mmr system that allows new players to have a huge advantage in ranked. Also there is a small tilt towards the mirror.

I feel like azusas many journeys is bad in a deck with only 24 lands.
Definitely the weakest link, although with Virtue often getting back a land it's like we're playing more than just 24.
