The album booklet is probably the most beautiful and descriptive I’ve ever seen . So many beautiful photos and artwork I lost my original one but I know I’m gonna but it again just to glance . Love this classic . I listen to disc 1 first and disc 2 it’s only right . No skips except Smile . It’s too beautiful I cry everytime
I didn’t think I could love an album more than Bad, but HIStory did it. Not one dud and brutally real, balanced with the gorgeous Childhood and Smile ballads. If you haven’t watched the Earth Song recording session video, don’t miss it. HIStory is on a whole other level. PS: “D.S.” is no weak moment!

That was confirmed by Brad Sundberg during a seminar he did.

I'm the biggest Michael Jackson that there is but the truth is that the HIStory album only had 4 great songs - You Are Not Alone, Scream, Earth Song and They Don't Really Care About Us. The rest were very ordinary with Childhood, Little Susie, D.S and Tabloid Junkie the worst of the remaining lot.

In " History ... book one" Michael uses his musics and songs to react agst tabloids, injustice, and also to express his pain and sadness about his childhood and loneliness of abandoned children ( little Susie). Michael was a true poet , a vulnerable human being and he could only deliver his feelings, his pains, his joys through his songs.

Yeah the HIStory was suppose to come out before Dangerous (called Decade 1980-1990) but MJ decided to make a full album and we got Dangerous instead.
