This is such an incredible speech that is equal parts moving and eye opening. I am blown away by it. Very, very relevant for today's time. I like how Melvin looked at it from the angle of philosophy. People forget the importance of philosophy. It maybe an old wisdom but it has never been more relevant. Hope to hear more from Melvin. He speaks really well.
So true we need to have meaningful connections and reflect on what makes us happy not what is given to us by the feeds in social. We have to reflect on what makes us happy and have those deeper connections with others which don’t involve the internet. To be present and in the moment with others around us; for me it’s to be happy and to examine what makes us happy. Creating the space and time to explore that, as was said all those quick hits of instant gratification from the internet will not fulfil us. There is deeper thinking to be done to get do know ourselves on that deeper level and finding out for ourselves what we are meant to do and what we want our purpose to be.
