    Enjoyable video ... Here's my opinion: I will not buy FSD, or even EAP, unless they work a lot better than they do now, AND if their use becomes of a real value to me. And in the case of FSD, I won't buy it until the system is actually certified as autonomous. As much as I enjoy the tech, I'm not about to pay $8000 for what to me is still a toy.
    I don't see the need to use either for my daily driving. On long trips is when the most value will be derived from using EAP, but the way it performs now, it actually increase the workload, what with the extreme attention required to be sure it doesn't really screw up.
    Now the now-standard Autopilot is a different story. It doesn't purport to "think" for you, it merely performs some of the perfunctory tasks of driving. I think of it like this: the Autopilot babysits the driver, and the FSD is a system that have to be babysat BY the driver. Autopilot enhances both safety and driving pleasure , especially on long trips.
    Tesla isn't alone in marketing an Autopilot-styled driver assist suite. Two of note are the Nissan system, called ProPilot, and the Hyundai suite, called SmartSense. It probably won't be too long before such systems are standard on all cars. The first such system that my wife experienced was the ProPilot, of which she heartily approved, proclaiming that it's foolish to pay a new-car price and not buy driver assist.
    Anyway, keep putting out the videos, and good luck on growing your channel.

      The AP rewrite that is allegedly coming in December will be interesting for sure. It definitely has the potential to bring some real tangible utility/value to the suite. But who knows if it’s all just hype or really a game changer. I hear you on the standard AP vs. FSD. Appreciate your kind feedback!

    Overtaking needs another input; it needs to assess what the car in front is doing, and then it needs to add 5 MPH when over taking. Once past it needs to then reduce the speed to the previous (pre overtake) speed, or legal speed limit.

    Good video! I just upgraded to EAP, big fan of it but I don't think it's worth it to go to FSD right now. Also, subscribed to your channel :)

    Wish I would have gotten my car when EAP was available. 8000 seems like way too much.

      They probably will offer EAP again at the end of a quarter to boost revenue.

    Well it is 2023 and prices have gone up on EAP - 6,000 dollars and FSD - 15,000 dollars.
    I will stick with just the Basic Auto Pilot and Cruise control - free comes with every Tesla.
    I don't do Freeways for lane changing or need auto park/Summons features of EAP.
    The Tesla vehicle is costly enough without adding the FSD feature. Plus I do not see a justification to having my vehicle drive itself. FSD still has its problems in certain situations. Also EAP and Basic Auto Pilot (BAP) are not without some problems.
    I know there is a 200 a month subscription for FSD, but still too much money and again using the feature.
    If you have money you don't know what to do with, maybe these are for you. but not for me.
    Take care.

    Hi can you tell me what is the difference between enhanced autopilot vs autopilot that comes built in the car?

    • @KilowattAuto
      @KilowattAuto  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Enhanced autopilot is not actually offered anymore as an option. You can either choose Full Self Driving or the standard autopilot that all cars come equipped with. Here is a more updated video on this topic: th-cam.com/video/ajJ5f606tWM/w-d-xo.html

      @@KilowattAuto I’m from Switzerland and here is enhanced autopilot still an option to choose.🤷‍♀️

      Interesting! Standard autopilot will drive your car on the highway. It will keep your car in the lane and also brake/accelerate for other traffic. Enhanced autopilot includes navigate on autopilot and automatic lane changes. I know a lot of autonomous features are still pending EU approval so I am not sure if Tesla is even allowed to activate them yet. I personally would try out the standard autopilot first. You can always upgrade later if you want more features. The upgrade would be an over the air software update and would not require you to take the car anywhere.

      Yes this comment is a bit dated and they also offer enhanced autopilot in the US again as well.

    Thanks for the video but I disagree. You basically say that for EAP only "navigate ob autopilot" is really usfull, but in my opinion that feature alone is not worth paying $4000 (or in my region 3800€) over the standart autopilot.
    If it were around 1600€, yeah sure, but at 3800€ I won't get it.

    Tesla just announced a reduction on the new M3P in my country (Australia) of nearly $10,000, just four weeks after taking delivery of my new car. TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS!. Surely they would have known this newer, faster version was coming at the time I made my purchase. Any other manufacturer would have offered a runout discount on the older car with such a big forthcoming upgrade so close. Perhaps it would be considered fair for poor schmucks like me to receive this FSD upgrade free of charge as compensation for the immediate crushing devaluation. I'm not happy.

    • @KilowattAuto
      @KilowattAuto  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would not be happy either! That’s a huge hit to the value in addition to normal depreciation. Might be worth trying to contact them about FSD as compensation.
