The Touring trim absolutely has the captains chair available for the 2nd row. They call it the touring 7P.

Yes! I just bought a 2021 and mine has the captain seats and it's a touring
in case you missed it the rear captains chair is an option on the Tourning edition. Its the only edition that is an option the elite and black edition is standard

Nice video. I like at how he also presents the pricing and trims at 15:45 cos most videos give base price which is never even close to what you pay. Some dealerships don't even stock many base models like audi dealerships so base price is meaningless in some cases. Anyway nice job. Keep it up!

Mama upgraded from the minivan to the Pilot; however, the Pilot is not a real man's SUV! First, let's look at the horsepower. 280 hp! Really! Something that weighs that much with a meesly 280hp loaded with the family trying to pass on the highway in the fast lane! LMAO! Secondly, let's look at the towing capacity. 5,000lbs! that's all!?! Again, if a person has the whole family in the Pilot and towing a boat decides to get in the fast lane on the highway to pass a vehicle. OMG! Talking about major disappointment and stuck with keeping that slow vehicle until it gets paid off! Mama aint thinking about a SUV towing abilities, just like a man isn't thinking about what type of make-up women should buy! Men, don't let the little lady talk you into buying a Pilot! I've seen to many men become disappointed from the lack of manly capabilities of the Pilot! Real men buy a Durango RT/SRT/Hellcat! The RT has 370hp. and 7400lbs towing. The issue that I have with Honda is that they decided to eliminate analog speedometer on Pilot. Many manufacturers give you the option of going back and forth between digital and analog. Hopefully they will fix that issue with 2023 new body style. We will wait to see what 2023 will look line. Both Highlander and Telluride are excellent alternative to a Pilot right now.

We just bought our 2021 Pilot Touring. In Canada we have more options it seems then the US version. Most is included. The only option higher is the Black Edition. We have wireless charging and the 7P option same price as the 8P. With heated and cooled seats included too.
That’s one thing I would love to see is cooled seats! I live in the a super hot place and need these.

Great review and info 👍, Honda could have kept the stop/start button and paddle shifters , and put some ventilated seats as standard in the front and second row seats instead.
On my 19 pilot touring, there’s thumping noise when going over small bumps. Did you experience it in 21?

I currently have a 2013 touring with 84,000 miles. I recently thought about getting a 2021 for the improvements in technology. But.....the push button transmission was a deal breaker for me.....just looking for problems.

I can see the paddle shifters coming in handy when off road in some tricky terrain like sand.
This is mostly gonna be used to haul timmy to football practice every Sunday, I assure you no one will be offroading in a honda pilot anytime soon
I use the paddle shifters going down steep hills since it doesn't have a hill decent button/switch. Wish they put the odyssey 10sp trans in the new pilot tho. It's fantastic

shawn n It'll have to be a new model. Honda won't develop AWD for just a year even though Odyssey and Pilot are the same platform. A truck-like Odyssey AWD with a 10 speed and turbo V6 from the TLX Type S would be bananas

I have the 2019 touring AWD and it's a very solid SUV alot of space for road trips, very comfortable ride definitely feels like something alot more expensive. Now when you take the eco off it feels like a race car 🏎 lol 😆 it always scared my wife when it's time to move on the highway. All around solid SUV honda did it again 💯
Touring is the top level trim in Honda CR V and one of the top levels along with Elite and Black editions in Pilot.

Hopefully the next generation will have lil more premium, A bigger infotainment, better instrument cluster(or digital) little bigger cabin, etc

Ventilated seats
If you don't need a ton of seating you can easily take out a row of seats and have a ton of space, most people don't realize how easy it is to unbolt a row of seats and add whatever you want, even a single seat with a cooler/fridge and solar for just a few hundred dollars. Years ago I took a chevy suburban and took out one row, had a TON of room and made it an awesome camping vehicle that still held 5 people and could travel around the U.S. camping in comfort, I miss those days.
I went to a car lot and saw this car, it had a blu ray play so that's cool, I might get this car.

I own a 2016 Pilot Elite that I purchased in December of 2015. It has every feature that this video shows plus a few more. With the exception of wireless charging my Elite has most every feature that is in the market today. 63,000 miles and is tight and quiet as ever. Gas milage has been better than listed on the “sticker”. Not crazy about the auto off when sitting at stop signs so I never use it. Unfortunately you have to disengage it every time you start the engine. Also, forward collision sensing is very touchy and slow to disengage so I leave it off. Only real problem I have is with the very small first row arm rest.

Depends on what you need the vehicle for or to do. I traded in my outback for the pilot and I really wanted to get the ascent but pilot seems more secure and luxurious

Was in a car accident and the van sliding door wouldn't open. So my wife wanted an suv. So at that time after the accident we had the subaru and jeep grand Cherokee left. And pilot was our choice to have the convenient of both worlds. Enjoy your vehicle have a good day stay safe!
I wish reviewers such as yourself would continue to push for hard buttons and knobs for the infotainment system, instead of screen controls. Tactile control imo is so much better than screen controls.

This is not a “in the middle” trim. This is one of the highest trims, a in the middle would be like an EX trim.
The problem is car makers stopped adding body stripes shield to prevent other cars from bumping their doors on the car parked next either left or right.
They didn't stop making them. They just don't want to add it because they want costumers to buy it out of their pockets to make extra cash

Except the Odyssey gives your captain chairs in the second row and adds a removable center seat if you want the "bench" seating.

You mean below the cup holder, the silver thing? It's tie down hook actually for when the 3rd row is down :(
That's not a USB port, but we use the plug in right behind the 3rd row for charging!
As much as I like Honda and some of their cars(ie Honda Civic SI ) ... this car needs has the most uninspiring design ever ... but if u like attending soccer practice with the kids in a safe reliable manner , I guess design is an after thought

I leased my 2016 honda pilot for four years but returned it back at the end of my lease and went with Hyundai palisade. I just cant resist the style, luxurious feel and safety all combined at a more affordable price than a luxury car which honda is lacking.

So you're aware, I have a 2019 and I have all of the features you have covered outside of 9spd. transmission. This appears to be the only change from 2019 to 2021. There may be a slight difference in steering wheel.

Honda typically offers "special edition" the final year of a body style. this style is now 6 years old. I hope they fix the ugly.
I love the way the Pilot looks... and its 3rd row seats is usable unlike the Highlander's. The only hold back is the the Honda's V6 seems to hesitate to accelerate smoothly (at least that is what I experienced with my 2013 RDX and my 2007 Honda Odyssey...both are V6).
Does the third row seat have the same leg room as the second?
@@irene1435 If you move the second row up a little bit, the third-row will be quite comfortable in terms of leg-room. The only thing is your knees are up higher in the third-row comparing to second-row.
Honda needs to refresh the Pilot to compete with the Kia/Hyundai models that came out last year. They are wasting a year here, and probably will come out with a 2022 model in March to prevent the refreshed Pilot and CR-V from coming out at the same time.
The 2019-20 are a refresh from the 2016-18 model years. Honda just cant put out a new model every other year just because other makers just came out with a new one this year or last lol.
Honda can have a 5 year cycle, like with the Civic and Accord. That would’ve made the 2021 a brand new model/generation. This is why I will be trading in my 2014 Honda for a 2021 Telluride instead of a 2021 Pilot. They will lose out on many customers like they are losing me.

I rather stick to my 15 touring, this new design looks more like a minivan.
Its a small thing but Honda needs to eliminate the manual parking brake and switch over to a push button, electronic parking brake.
Oh great...now Honda's got two mini-vans----->> The Odyssey & the Pilot. Thanks but I'll stick with the 2nd generation Pilot...the most distinctive and rugged of all the Pilots ever made (2009-2015). Will miss the 2nd gen the most when you see them less and less on the road as time goes by. Going to hold on to my 2015 EX-L until the wheels fall off!

Squid Usn My point is the Pilot is a good Suv, but, for less money you can get a better equipped, proven better reliability, much better looking vehicle in my opinion. If the price was about 5 thousand less on each of the pilot trims, I would say it’s a viable alternative. As it stands it’s too expensive for what you get.
Platinum Awd Highlander is priced around 49K, just like the Pilot Elite. I'm buying the Elite mainly because of the extra interior space.
Who said you will have to pay full 46K, I got EXL for 35k. You need to bargain.
