Holy cow Seth, I never win anything! Thank you so much!
(Haven't bought them yet) I've never been more excited to buy a pair of shoes as I have the Mach 4's, hopefully they live up to the hype

QD: When I got the saucony endorphin pro I was so excited because that was my first super shoe I've ever owned, and man, when I put on that shoe I flew like NAU in the morning dew.

QoD: The Salomon Speedcross 5 was the last shoe that really got me excited. I watched your review of the fire red ones and then had to wait almost 2 years before they went on sale so I could afford them. $95 Canadian delivered to my door last week. Taking them out on their maiden voyage this weekend on my favorite trail. I've been wearing them around the house and they feel amazing on foot. I tried to wear them to bed the first night but my wife wouldn't let me.

Finally ! I've been waiting for this one for a while as it's seems to be a really exiting shoe. I've been able to test it in a Salomon store and I totally agree on the ride feeling. Also for the durability, they say that they have pushed it above 500km without any decrease of the comfort. Reaaally tempted to buy it !

QD: I recently bought the Pulsar after testing out the X-Talon G 210 for several weeks and I gotta say that the midsole is a lot more forgiving in the Pulsar while being the lighter shoe. I am super exicted about this shoe and I'm definitely going to be using them in my next race - Pikes Peak Marathon! I am running this race is because you have inspired me too, but also because your coaching has helped me prepare. Thank you and hope to meet you on race day!

I just utilized the Pulsar for the Leadville Marathon. I couldn't have picked a better shoe as it handled well on the variety of surfaces. I like this shoe so much, that I also train in it. Good luck at Pikes Peak!

QD: I was very enthusiastic when I purchased the Saucony Endorphin Speed 1. During my fist run with these shoes I immediately felt the speed I could get thanks to them. My Garmin watch felt it as well since I immediately gained a point of VO2 max after this first run. It is a bit ironic to cheat technology with a bit of high tech rubber on your feet. I guess that’s why I pay attention to your shoes analysis in the shoedio since I bought these shoes thanks to your advices Seth. Keep doing this great job that help all of us to be better runners. Cheers from the Netherlands!

Aramid fibres through the upper is awesome! Polyaramide class polymers spun in fibres have an extraordinary high tensile strength. When woven to a fabric it can hold back a gun bullet. That's why it is used in bullet proof vests with the more known name Kevlar.

QD: Just recently with the New Balance FuelCell Rebel v2. I enjoy watching different reviews to see what I may enjoy. When I went to our local running store and tried them on, it was all smiles. There is something about these that puts a smile on my face when I lace up. So obviously I bought two pairs.

QD: the last time I was excited for my shoe purchase was the pair I have now! My latest pair of Bondi 7s.... I had strayed a little and tried Cliftons... they were ok but I knew troubles with pain and injuries we’re going to be behind me sooner than later with the new Bondi and sure enough I’m feeling overall much better... I’m over 200 miles in them and they’re still feeling new... my legs aren’t feeling 100 years old anymore! Not cheap but worth every penny for my money.

Congrats Jason . would have to be the Mach 4’s because of your review. I was so excited for them. First few runs took some bedding in but after that they have become my favourite shoe to run in. 161 miles and counting

Most recently it was the Hoka Mach 4 due to all of they hype built up around it. I'd say for the most part I am really pleased with it. Due to the lack of rubber on the outsole I am a bit disappointed with the amount and rate of wear but it doesn't seem to be losing any traction or functionality. But I get excited about most new running shoe purchases because they are new and always feel so great after running in the previous beat up pair.

One of the most exciting shoes in the recent years has been for me the Sense Ride saga. I have used all their versions (not yet version 4). But also a bit more recent, when Hoka Torrent 2 was announced, especially after a bit of negative impressions from the first version. Loving the Torrent 2 with almost 600km and they will have 200-300km more of life at least :)

In March when i got the DYNAFIT ALPINE shoe (carbon fiber) for your DGR VERTICAL CHALLENGE race and absolutely fell in love with it! As a ski racer, I like supporting companies such as Salomon and DynaFit who also produce dryland training and racing gear. Head bowed after a 5-mile fartlek with Dewa…

I recently got a pair of Evoride 2, and as someone who supinates pretty heavy, the shoe does a great job minimizing it. I feel I run more efficiently with less effort, I don't feel like I have to worry about the shoe's durability with weird wear patterns, and besides that, the geometry and firmness of the shoes seem to be something I can use daily and take it up to faster paces.

QD: coincidentally, it was yesterday when I purchased the Saucony Endorphin on sale for $120. The PB midsole is a game changer, light weight, and plenty of stack height. It was every TH-camr’s fabmvorite shoe last year. I can’t wait for them to arrive and put miles on. I’ve tried them on several times and they felt amazing but were too expensive at $160.

Just purchased the Altra Torin 5. Very excited about the new EgoMax midsole. I started running in Altra without intention. I bought a clearance pair of Torin 4's and used them as walking shoes. I realized that zero drop eliminated my knee pain so I began running in them. Two years later and I have not run in any other brand. Any shoe with a drop now feels like running in high heels.

Most excited about the Endorphin Speed 1s (on their way) and Hoka Mach4 (hopefully buying this weekend) - BOTH because of your reviews. QD: For it it is a tie between two shoes! The EVO Speedgoats just showed up and very very excited to some trail runs in to compare those the Speedgoat 4's. Also, the Saucony Speed 1's! Just ordered them when they went on price reduction through running warehouse (using your link of course!) and ready to test those on the pavement. I have the shifts and have enjoyed them and with a couple road races this fall I am excited lace up the speeds and see the difference. Keep up the motivation, great reviews, and inspiration!

last time I was excited about a running shoe purchase was actually when I went out and bought the Salomon Supercross over a year ago! I only go to trails 1-2 times weekly, but the shoe still looks and feels brand new after 300+ miles! At the time I was excited because it was the first trail specific shoe I bought because previous to 2019, I used one shoe for all my runs. Now I have 8 pairs when including spikes and racing flats (6 w/o)

QD: okay for me it’s definitely the Hoka Rincon 2. The shoe just felt so new and soft to me in store, and the fact that it was only 100 bucks when I bought it was super exciting as well. Since then I’ve tried to find the same experience from other running shoes, but I’ve yet to find one yet. I can’t wait for the Hoka Rincon 3’s to hopefully come out before my cross country season!

QD: Ive been running in endorphin shifts ever since I first found your reviews of them on TH-cam. Ever since I’ve been watching your vlogs everyday and have been wanting to get a pair of Speeds. When you talked about the price drop in yesterday’s livestream, I immediately jumped on Running warehouse (with your links of course) and got not just the Speeds, but the Pros as well!!! I’ll be running my first marathon (St George) in Oct with one of these two shoe on my feet!

QD: march 2021 when I bought the HOKA One One Mach 4. I was so excited for this shoe and still am. First of all because of Seth’s review. But mostly because it’s a good shoe for a tempo day and it’s not overly unstable like a lot of other faster shoes. I have struggled with some ankle injury’s over the last year and going fast in the Mach 4 gives me the confides that I won’t have a new injury the next day.

Saucony Endorphin speed, Bought mine a few months ago and they realy lived up to all the hype. My only issue now is trying to use my other shoes instead of just wanting to use the speed for every run. It's my go to track shoe as well as long runs at the moment in addition to tempo...

QD: so I bought the Mach 4s and have put about 125 road miles on them and have really enjoyed them, HOWEVER....I soon after purchased The North Face Vectiv ENDURIS. I was cautiously optimistic but had some lingering suspicion this was gonna be a swing and miss shoe. Seth, I watched your review of the Vectiv Flight, and similar to other reviews, the Flight has some issues, so I was worried about how the Enduris would do. MUCH to my surprise, after a about a 50 mile break in period, I have absolutely loved the Vectiv Enduris! They've got 100 miles on them so far and they are such a nice ride. Not the shoe for everyone but they are shockingly a great trail shoe for me for long easy miles. The Pulsar is certainly on my radar as is the Torrent 2 but I think these Enduris' will last me another 200-300 miles.

If weight is such a big consideration, consider the Innovate 200 x talon. They are lighter than the 210s, and they also have an aggressive outsole.

QOD: Now ;-) I have a marathon in October, first race in two years because of Covid. I'm hesitating between keeping my Endorphin Speed 1, or moving up to carbon plated shoe. Not that I'm fast (52 years aiming 3:25) but I don't want to screw up this race, and if the carbon plates can save my legs a little bit, I'm in! I'm waiting for the RC Elite 2 full review for now!

Mine has been ordered and is on its way. I tried the shoe a few weeks back in the store but they did not have the color I wanted. The new EgoMax midsole feels soft and bouncy. Better than the quantic in my opinion. The Torin 4.5 plush never really fit my foot right so I am beyond stoked on the new upper for the 5.

Easy one for me. I was a huge fan of the NB 890 v1 and v2, but then they went and changed it dramatically--twice and ruined it IMHO. A local running shop was changing ownership and the original owner was having a blowout sale last summer. What do I spot out of the corner of my eye? The original 890--9 or 10 years after its release. Because of their age, I was leery about running in them, and that, coupled with nostalgia made them my walking around shoes. Every time I look down at my feet, I am transported back to 2011. Full disclosure: I haven't done any official runs in them, but I did jog a few yards a couple of times just to reminisce.

For a race like Pikes Peak, where the climate is rather dry, and mostly well buffed trails (apart from at the summit), the Pulsar would be a better option, wouldn't think that the aggressive INOV-8 lugs are necessary.

I actually just got a pair of sense ride 4's a few months ago and was looking around to see if anyone cuts the quick laces out and just uses standard laces. It can't be that big of a deal to me because I haven't checked to see if they'd fit, but I find the quick laces move around so I don't get the fit I initially tie down when I start a run.

FINALLY!💪🏼 Was wondering (and asking) when you would take on this shoe!
I’ve got them to around 175k by now and they are still flying.
However, as a followup for the Slab Sense 8 (is it?) how would you consider them? Would you say they serve different needs? (Tech vs speed?)

Addition to potential buyer: wider feet might experience blisters on top of the foot right at the start of the big toe (where the material wrinkles)

With a correctly sized shoe you wouldn't need to tighten the laces so hard or at all, removing bute or discomfort completely. Once this shoe is on the laces simply need to be tightened enough to remove the slack, nothing more or less, and stuffed into the pocket. And with an accurate size a thin sick is a must, at least for me. For a thicker sock a half size up would be necessary but then the perfect fit is compromised.

Not a trail racer here so pardon my ignorance, but I’m curious how the outsole of the shoe reviewed here doesn’t look aggressive at all. How does it work as a technical trail racer with such shallow lugs? I know you mentioned it’s less grippy but it looks even smoother than my light trail shoe, Brooks Pure Grit.

Would you run a 100K race with them? Or where would you set the limit? Have you tested Salomon Sense Pro model? It’s my favorite from Salomon and a little bit cheaper than the s-lab shoes, but the ride is softer and very natural, grip is good and it sits like a clove 👍🏻 Highly recommend to give it a try :)

Aramid is the name of the fibre material while Kevlar is the trademarked name. Just like how people use Xerox which is a trademarked name over photocopy. tldr, aramid=Kevlar.
