Wow for once im short of words. Great to catch up on all the episodes I've missed. I'm hoping for no more hospital stays so I can watch these great episodes as they hit. Live your dreams and we will follow.
The season has to be for me the very best !!!..♥..the knowledge...the history....life skills now and for ever captured by a camera for all to see....♥....Keep up the great content boys !!....oh n the split merch update was impressive n fan....Cheers xx
Wow boys! The last few episodes have been simply beautiful...I could honestly watch uncle impart his wisdom and craftsmanship all day long...You are truly one of the best channels on TH-cam and continue to follow your dreams and share with the rest of us...and Nath I cannot wait for the tinny fit out instruction vid you mentioned, so stoked! Cheers guys
Man, that was another mesmerising episode! I love the fact that the knowledge uncle les is passing on is thousands of generations old! Done the same way basically since the dawn of the human race! That is such a privilege legend and I can see the deep seeded respect and stoke you have for the whole experience Nath! And that genuinely make me smile! What a great last few episodes mate! Thanks so much for the time and effort mate! You and Dane definitely need some spear throwing practice, haha, and that’s half the fun! Really enjoying this series mate! Thankyou so much! 🤙🏽
Haha I agree, it looks way easier than it is 😂. Stoked you’re enjoying this stuff so much Jay. Yes it means a lot to me spending time with these elders, like you said this is ancient knowledge. It’s priceless! To think an old fella made a spear yolk using that same tree for the shaft and the same resin from the Ironwood root even 500 years ago is mind blowing
Since I am one of the first here! Cheers to literally the best TH-cam channel out there! Wild reaches! They care, they educate and they appreciate life! Help them become the next big thing on tv and share this channel to others. 🤙🏼 will be watching later today with a cold beer!
I have only been on two adventures in my 57 yrs. one to ularu in 1984 which took 32hrs to drive there and I received a very hard fairly heavy boomerang used to knock down kangaroos made by one of the elders and the other was up through the Cape in 1997 where I camped on country with the locals who showed us where to fish and hunt which I still can’t shut up about! Your videos allow me to go on new adventures and relive my old ones so thank you so much 😊 We should all spend time on country and attitudes would change dramatically
I'm so glad I found out channel. I've been going back through your post history and love all the videos. It's kinda like when a series all drops at once. It's almost dangerous that these are all here to just binge watch your adventures. I'm sitting inside in MN in the United States and hearing all the birds and sounds in your videos is so peaceful and is helping push through some seasonal depression. Can't wait o get out on my "tinny" or jonboat as we call them over here. I dream of one day maybe having an adventure in Cape York. Looks absolutely stunning.
Tremendous video documenting craftsmanship that deserves a wider audience. One does not see this level of skill very often. You guys are doing your part to help pass this knowledge on to future generations. Well done.
Amazing guys! Grateful for Wildreaches educating me on the spear making, that was special. Appreciate Uncle Les and Chappy for allowing that to happen. You can see how much it means to you Nath it’s special to watch. Cannot wait for the next season, is Dane heading up for the adventure?
Thanks Phillip, glad you enjoyed it. Chappy and Uncle Les are amazing blokes. Alot of solo stuff in Season 6 Phillip. Solo stuff and some adventures on country with locals up there.
Occasionally I come across an interesting channel and subscribe, occasionally some channels stand out more than others. I enjoy a meat pie, most channels I subscribe to are like a servo meat pie, they usually hit the spot and I enjoy them, sometimes they can be a bit dry and need a bit of sauce. Occasionally you are going past a bakery and they are the best pies around, they don't need sauce, they ain't dry, they have just the right amount of gravy. I can't say I've compared anything to a pie before, this channel ain't the servo variety, it's the bakery with the best pie around variety. Cheers boys
Great ep, fantastic you could document it. Was lucky enough to be shown how to throw a spear with a woomera in Kakadu by an indigenous fella called Dougy and will never forget it.
thanks I appreciate everything you've done and all your shows and everything because I'm a indigenous man not mean people get to see place's like that THANKS
5 minutes in...product promo.. guy in your cruiser... Don''t worry buddy.. Keep pushing, keep teaching us all globally about Australia. THE ANCIENT TRADITIONS ARE PRICELESS.
You generally straighten spears over a fire, just as you would internally seal a Yidaki (Didgeridoo) with bee’s wax over a fire. Although not so much with a modern day Yidaki🔥🤙🏽
Would love to see some sorta wild reaches work shirts, half button preferably but wouldn’t complain, could put mini logos on front pockets and could have the merch website embroidered under the collar so not seen but can be seen. Love the work you put out and the vids. Just spitballing an idea 👌
When you hear any sound, like a bird call, or animal sounds, or observe anything unexpected, Take intense note of it. Those observations will almost always mean the difference between life and death.
Very good episode again guys, love Uncle those spears are something else. Blimey who is that PR man you have doing the merch, you couldn't get a word in Nath, get rid of him!! Well we have been trying to keep up with you guys, our spears are more accurate than yours 😙.Cheryl was 3 metres from our can (45 gallon drum) and hit 3 times out of 3 till the Araldite gave out!! 😏. Anyway the new merch look very good we will have to see you when we come over later in the year and get some Nath, we will have a good word with your PR man. Take care see you next week...from the UK Out of Reaches!😜
I’m not sure iv seen the Araldite tree before but it’s resin sounds terrible😜. Have a great weekend guys and yes let me know when you’re “in reach” in Australia
They do, but not all of them because they don’t depend on the spears anymore. A lot of the younger guys we met say they know how to make them which is good.
@@WildReaches You do as you like, but was just asking if you did polo shirts with a collar and a front pocket, I get to burnt on the back of the neck with T shirts, I am not a fan long sleeve fishing shirts, thanks guys,
Thank guys for another fukinfantastic episode.. very lucky fellas to have those spears made for you.. thank you documenting it.. Could you please consider a $2 or $5 patreon level as some of us are on the pension or carers payment... Again thanks for all you all do on wild reachers..
I REALLY enjoyed your careful tracking of crocs! We have them too in Africa but I think they are not as aggressive as Saltwater crocs. Generally, Africa crocs do not EVER attack people on Land. But they are opportunistic feeders in the water. I help with training trackers and tracking dogs, and if I might share a tiny tip...Foot tracks make up less than 40% of signs leading to the quarry. Establish what the animal or human is, then start spending 60% of your time looking for low aboreal signs. Use your nose. (sorry smokers...that won't work for you) Listen, and Listen and Listen again. Question bush sounds and identify them. Know the alarm calls of squirrels, lizards, birds and Insects. (insects go quiet in the presence of larger mammals) Use your fingers and hands to examine as many dung samples as you can find. Study the insect activity of the insects at the dung sites to establish age. keep sniffing. Most mammals emit smells when threatened.
The only way to learn something is to do it yourself not to watch others like I had too boys. It could save your life being out bush. It’s not a game or a joke out there in the bush as you know of.
We love your eps and content guys, but the sound quality is shocking! It’s even worse when you whisper 😆 (Is it just us? No one else seems to have commented about it 😂) Maybe time to invest in some of those fuzzy do-dads lol
Hey guys, We use to get alot of comments about the music being too lad, that was 12 months ago and we've made alot of changes. Everyone seems to be happy with it now. Glad youre loving the show
How often do you see bats in the region ? How many of them Do aborigines of Australian hate bat because of the diseases ? What are some ways the used to get rid of them ?
They should take the young offenders from Perth there to learn from this great man teach them some life skills instead of them going in and out of jail and breaking into people's cars and homes waste of tax payers money they need to change the law.
You could see the passion and pride Uncle was using to build those spears.. such a very rare experience that would have been.
So cool hey. Seeing skills past down from his grandfather to him and probably generations before that.
🤣.......
