These sorts of rides are more commonly traveling rides owned by carnivals. In fact, North American Midway Entertainment (NAME) owns one of these! This particular one, though, was a "permanently fixed" ride; and so is the Mighty Galleon at Silver Dollar City's Grand Exposition area.
It was at an amusement park here in Tulsa Oklahoma the park was closed after the 2006 season ended after the fair and was forced out off the fairgrounds property.
I've posted this 3 times, yet somehow my comments never appear after logging off. His name is Pat Richardson, folk singer, composer and actor. He and his brother Mike, were part of a group called Urban Almanac. Later, Pat teamed up with Rob Bishline and recorded quite a few songs. Most of his work can be searched and found here on You Tube. Also, Jan Hammer's channel has preserved a lot of his music and video performances. Kat, I believe you posted a comment on one of Pat's songs "High Seas Sailor" on Jan's channel about 4 yrs. ago

Great ride. Terrible commercial. Does this ride even need a TV advertisement
No, because the ride is such an iconic thing it needs no introduction either
It has cheesy charm
i find the song / jingle quite catchy, plus the company that made the ad makes quirky commercials.
Cringe 😂
not to me at least IT'S A BANGER!
