- Hey everyone, it's been a whole week! Sorry about that, we will be working on our consistency. We recorded a lot of stuff so we definitely be sharing more things more frequently. So we finally got to BLACKPINK 🥰🥰
(Also again we are still figuring out this audio game so sorry for the pitch here and there.)
Özlem is a Blink and Esosa is a Kpop baby when it comes to them. To her lovely surprise Esosa really loved this video. As a Blink, Özlem really wanted Esosa to react to everything surround the MV, even the original non-edited one. She is very protected of her girls as she should while Esosa isn't well-versed in BLACKPINK's history. Please understand that the opinions expressed by both are the opinions we formed right on the spot. If you were to ask us more questions, we are sure it would be more substantiated with better arguments. Even without the "thing" we feel the song is it completely. Nurse outfit was "short, not real, sexualizing"... the whole thing is rediculous. It was blown out of proportion by the media.
It’s not even a nurse outfit, Jennie was portrayed as Psychiatrist the MV.

She may have been in the psychiatrist role but it was a nurse outfit she was wearing. Not that it matters, if she had dressed as a psychiatrist, she'd have been accused of trivializing mental illness or some other crap.
The way I (Esosa) have been reading up more on blackpink the more Im disappointed about the way the girls get so much hate for things that don't warrant such reactions. It's mind boggling.

Controversy in Korea over nurse clothing:
The release of the song "Love Sick Girls" was a time when Korean nurses struggled to treat COVID-19 patients, and the nurses' attire at the time resembled that of an astronaut. Koreans were paying tribute to the nurses, thanking them for their hard work, and sympathizing with how hard it was for them.
By the way, Jenny's nurse costume was only an expression of Jenny, a nurse (in YG's opinion), but it happened to be similar to the nurse costume that Koreans despise and dislike. It was a sex-friendly outfit that actresses in "AV (Porno Video)" produced in neighboring Japan generally wore in "Nurse's Sex" episodes. Most Koreans didn't recognize it and thought, "Oh, Jenny is cute."
Jenny's outfit was controversial among those who watched the cover, advertisement, or video of AV, and YG modified the entire outfit to be hidden as much as possible.

I am a Blink and for me the scene was not a big deal but I do understand where the Korean nurses are coming from. In the West, this can be dismissed as trivial but in a society where there is a lot of misogyny and discrimination against women, these issues gain another layer. In a happy ending to the controversy though, when YGE decided to cut the scene out, the Korean nurses association released a statement thanking the company for hearing their side and addressing these promptly and that in turn they will be supporting Blackpink in their activities (they have nothing against the girls to begin with; they recognize it was a company decision to include the scene).

jennie shouldnt be getting hated on & punished because OTHER people are disgusting and sexualize her. It was ridiculous that they had to delete that part of the video especially after seeing the behind the scenes of her being all excited and explaining her scene. its not the first time jennie has been unfairly targeted & attacked i think that's what makes it worse and harder for fans.
Esosa here and wow I didn’t even know she got hate. That is preposterous considering it’s the styling department and even then it wasn’t with malicious intent if you take into account what the actual concept of that scene was.
I feel like I’m going to learn some unpleasant things about the way this group has been treated.

In Jennie's "controversial" scene in Lovesick girls, I think it was unfair that the nurse association thought it was sexualizing nurses. Jennie was literally nursing herself as she said "no doctor can help me when I am lovesick". So it could not be a doctor but she needed medical help as she is sick, lovesick. So it had to be a nurse. Jennie was the nurse nursing herself. So outfit wise, it has to be a Jennie-ish outfit. That just makes sense. So in effect by raising such an issue, what that nurse association was actually doing was sexualizing Jennie not Jennie or BP sexualizing nurses. They raised it so they were the one thinking about it that way. Blinks were just like wow Jennie still looks beautiful even when sick. Lol They should kept that scene. Now it looks unfinished. just saying 😁

Yes! I (Özlem) 100% agree that Lovesick Girls has a very American sound. The thing with Blackpink is tho, they’re no longer just a K-pop group nor an American group, they’ve become an international one! That’s why I think their recent songs have a different sound than usual K-pop. But, nevertheless, I’m totally digging it!

I would agree that Jennie is very demure in the nurse uniform - especially compared to ALL the other outfits the girls wear as it's knee length, buttoned up, and she's sitting correctly - and it's an over-reaction apparently triggered by the red high heeled shoes Jennie's 'nurse' was wearing...
But I also understand that in many countries there is a huge problem with female doctors and nurses being sexually assaulted and abused by stupid men. Unfortunately, while I would support curing this miscogeny with a bullet, it seems that this is also unacceptable.

However as stated overblown situation of something that could have easily been handled privately without antis attacking the artist. Didn't even need handling in the first place. One mic was too soft so we had to boost the entire thing in post so you could hear Özlem. It’s so annoying, we know. We need to get hers closer so we can keep the levels instead of artificially boosting them an skewing the whole thing.
I think before you do a reaction video you should know who's in the band there two rappers and two singers and the girl you called the pinkish girl rozay isn't always pink she cried when they dyed her hair that color she didn't like it seriously I think you should really look into blackpink more before you watch any more videos
