  • Three NH90 helicopters were put through their paces as part of an intensive flying training programme around Waiouru.
    It was the first time that the NH90 had carried fully equipped troops and it was also the first low level formation flying had been undertaken away from Ohakea, which is a significant milestone in the training and testing of the aircraft and crew.

    I shared the movie on the FB page of your NH90 colleagues in Belgium. I think they will be a bit jealous about the nice sceneries you guys are able to fly in. Great movie !

      What do you mean movie? This is just a training video? The Royal New Zealand Airforce work side by side with the Royal New Zealand Nay and New Zealand Army in trainings like these.

    This NH90 is made in Autralia, after a technology transfer contract signed by eurocopter and the other company of the Nato Helicopter Consortium.
    The other helicopter at the beginning is (i think) an Agusta.
    Awesome by the way !

      so what? NH should have thought about them fitting into a C-130 though? that was the only, bad call on the deal? That and we'd still have a Strike-Wing! Thanks Mr Clark!

    • @Wackywoodworks
      @Wackywoodworks 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Jazzaconda Clarke as a back bencher when the Skyhawks were being off loaded said that if she ever gets into power she will get rid of the skyhawks... well it happened... why I never ever voted for it because I new it was on the agenda... but nobody listened and every body has short memories...

    • @myfriendmoses
      @myfriendmoses 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Jazzaconda Why would you want to fit them in a plane? They are perfectly capable of fitting inside the NZ Navy frigates

    • @Wackywoodworks
      @Wackywoodworks 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      The NH90 can not fit on the frigates ... however they can be transported by HMNZS Canterbury... but sometimes speed is needed to get the helo into the field of operation not waiting on delivery by sea that can take a week or two... and there may be times when Canterbury is under maintenance and not available to transport ...

    • @myfriendmoses
      @myfriendmoses 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Wacky Wood Works Sorry that's what I meant to put *the navy's multi role... Also there is pretty much nowhere that isn't reachable in NZ territories within hours by ship. If they wanted them to be transported by air they'd buy a C-17.

    All these comments from people who must know nothing about helicopters, what peices of garbage twice the price as black hawks with half the capability NONE being offensive. That's when they haven't broken down or been transported back to the factory to be fixed on Australian air force planes (bet that's cheap) must have been a massive payoff to someone
