I'm old now and I think to myself, how lucky was I to live in the time when all those great artists like Ronstadt, Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, Doobie Bros, ABBA, ACDC, INXS, Elton, ELO, BeeGees, Frampton, plus many many others were our normal listening on the radio. The first time I heard Linda was at a Neil Young Concert. She was the opening act. I asked my brother who is she? He just looked at me like I had stabbed him, lol. After that opening, I was a fan for life.
I absolutely love Linda Ronstadt singing anything, I truly believe she had the greatest voice of any female singer , when she hits that high note on the repeated line of "you better let somebody love you " the hairs on the back of my neck just stand up ( and I have a lot of hair , I tell you) but there are two live performances of Linda's that I constantly play , both are from her "Muppet Show" appearances , and in each she truly seems to be thoroughly enjoying the show and the performance. I love her singing " Blue Bayou" with the frogs chorus ,and the Muppets as her backing band , but when she sings " When I get to old to Dream" with Kermit , my heart just breaks , such an amazing performance , and again, this amazing , wonderful lady with the magical voice just puts everything into the song , she may as well be signing with the greatest singers and musicians in the world , instead of a collection of lovable puppets and Muppets, she still puts everything into her performance. And that chorus at the end , and that note that Linda hits , I hope that this mega talented, beautiful lady is with us for many more years to come , and although that magical voice can never hit those notes again, we have so many treasured moments preserved for all time , on vinyl , on compact disc, and on video and film. Watch, listen and absorb her talent, because there will never be another Linda Ronstadt . God Bless her and keep her safe . PS. I want her version of When I grow to old to Dream played at my funeral because I know if they don't cry for me , that will set the waterworks off , for certain. 🤭🥺😊
One of the best live performances I have ever heard! This version is even better than the original LP! So much emotion and technique in it! And she is a fairy on stage! I feel really unlucky that I first listened to her when I was 9 in 1992. But what a talent she was and what a star she had! I wish you always health!
An absolutely stunning performance by one of the best (if not the best) female vocalists ever. I first heard Desperado performed by Linda long before I heard the original by the Eagles. In my opinion she owns this song.
Queen of her Scene. Rockin' or crooning. Powerful and tender. Linda made this cowpoke tune important. She was/is uniquely beloved by all the dudes and gals in a dirty rotten business. She broke our hearts and healed our hearts often.

Amen to that!
@@WOV49indeed she can.
The Eagles wrote this song for her. Linda's tone, phrasing, dynamics and power are one of a kind.
What a voice...thanks for the post! And thank you, Linda, for sharing your beautiful life and talent with us.
Thanks for your comment and for being a fan, God bless you.... I text you on here because you're a big fan and you seems to be a very nice person 😍
she sings with her soul. every word is emotion, is life. i love her.
i'm a big fan of the Eagles but Linda's version gets me every time
One of the best live performances I have ever heard! This version is even better than the original LP! So much emotion and technique in it! And she is a fairy on stage! I feel really unlucky that I first listened to her when I was 9 in 1992. But what a talent she was and what a star she had! I wish you always health!
Breathtakingly beautiful and heartfelt. Stunning.
What an incredible version of this song! My goodness the word icon gets thrown around a lot these days but Linda Ronstadt truly is exactly that! 🙌🎵❤️
An absolutely stunning performance by one of the best (if not the best) female vocalists ever.
I first heard Desperado performed by Linda long before I heard the original by the Eagles. In my opinion she owns this song.
Every song she sings, she owns
Your beautiful wow. I'm a grown ass man child and I almost cried. Inside I cry
Passionate, authentic, power and tenderness. Until "they" pull this down again - what a divine performance. Thanks for posting.
Loved Linda many years. Loved the eagles sang along with the eordx
Brooklyn boy loves sweet home Chicago
Love you Linda god bless you
Brilliant performance of a superb song. The lyrics are true and profound. What more is there to say.
Queen of her Scene. Rockin' or crooning. Powerful and tender. Linda made this cowpoke tune important. She was/is uniquely beloved by all the dudes and gals in a dirty rotten business. She broke our hearts and healed our hearts often.
I lover her, cutie and amazing voice, one of the best voices all times!
Not only one of the greatest cover versions of all time, but also one of the greatest vocal performances ever
Sung by many people in the industry but no one does it near as good as Linda, Her voice is amazing I have listening to her sing this for years and it just gets better
This brought a tear to my eye.
No kidding
Wow….. i forgot how talented Linda R is. Brilliant!
Linda is therapy. Feel better hearing and watching her.
Simply gorgeous.
No one but no one sings this like her.
Amen to that! My favorite. Flawless, absolutely beautiful! Thank you, Miss Linda, for sharing your gifts with us. 🌟
