From the way Ixlel talks about Ajaw, it sounds like he was already missing even DURING the age of dragons. Like, before Xbalanque ever defeated Xuihcoatl. I really hope we get some followup on Ajaw’s lore in 5.3 and then in future natlan expansions. I want to know who it was that sealed him away against his will, and why they did it. Bc they must have had knowledge of how dragons can transfer their consciousness into machines. And what they accomplished by sealing him. Was it to power something like with Ixlel? To stop him bc he was a tyrant? Or just to get him out of the way for a grander plan bc he had the potnetial to threaten it? I don’t think it was Och-kan. Bc Och-kan only learned about it from Ixlel. If anything, the most suspicious looking character here is the sage of stolen flame. Who might have even had a hand in building these giant computer statues that can house dragon souls. Since he was supposedly the “most enlightened of dragons” or however they phrase it.
Ochkanatlan truelly is Enkonomiya 2.0 with the amount of Lore it revealed imo! From what i've searched about the sakouko decree, i assume i lasted about 2 years, along with the vision hunt decree. I was lifted during the Inazuma arc, and i know it's annoying to account for that, but it canonicaly happened 3 years ago, so the sakouko drecree would've been put in place 5 years ago
Thats a lie. The game says the sakoku decree was only one year. Paimon even makes a comment on how Inazuma was fine and closed off about a year @@fulana_de_tal
I was under the impression that kuhl ajaw Ixele mentioned was not a specific person but rather a term dragons commonly used. Which led me to believe Ajaw is hiding his identity for some reason. I mean as cool as it sounds, destined rulership sounds more like a title than a name. That said, it looks like we’ll get more lore about Xiuhcoatl next patch so hopefully we’ll also learn about Ajaw too. Thanks for the video.
Och-Kan uses yound and naive Ajaw to be the lord of dying city after sealing Ixlel as city...server. Everything in the story makes me to see it this way
Great job with the Natlan series. I was saturated by the number and complexity of the names and that the point of view of the narration jumped from one character to another and in the end I gave up trying to understand it. Thanks for the summary :)
The Dragon Sage claims that the pyro dragons had devolved into hierarchy worshiping bunch of doomed failures, which led him to set off on his own path. Both Ixlel and Ajaw call themselves "Sovereign" at some point, even though up to now that was a very specific title that only belonged to specific seven entities. Yet now we clearly have it be used simply as a word to describe a ruler of presumably the highest rank. "K'uhul" is presented as a word meaning "destined", and "Ajaw" - "ruler". As far as we can know Ajaw simply used those words to name himself, which doesn't provide much objective info on his true backstory. The way Ixlel' describes herself she seems to have been the core "operating system" of the city and she mentions "colleagues" rather than "colleague" - there were more than one of those. I do think Ajaw is much more important than he seems when looking at his odd antics, but he's not the top of the world that he acts as either.
I love lore videos like this! I am not fond of reading through world quests much because i am near sighted. So my source of additional lore bombs are videos like this because i prefer listening. Thank you for contents like this!
The only thing I'll say is I don't necessarily think Kinich's Ajaw was connected to Ixlel. The reasoning for this is that the tiny word Ajaw was placed directly above the word Rulership. Which is what Ajaw means. Later in the same cutscene (different conversation) with Ixlel we see the tiny word Ku'hul above the word leadership, which is what Ku'hul means. So Ku'hul Ajaw literally means Destined Rulership. But it's two completely different conversations that Ajaw's full title is split amongst. So I don't necessarily think Ixlel is literally talking about Kinich's Ajaw. Edit: she says colleagues. Not colleague. This could be any of the previous dragon lords. And if he was her "husband" then why not say partner?
Paimon obviously has something fishy about her, and it's not the fact that she was literally fished out of the sea. She's the only thing of her kind we've ever seen, and nobody seems to know what exactly she is, Paimon has been called anything from a pixie to a balloon or a gnome, yet she insists she's not any of those things. The aranara don't adress her as a "nara", despite doing that for every humanoid being, even those who are clearly not human. Paimon never talks about anything before she mets the traveller, and she has an absurdly vast knowledge of Teyvat. It's obvious that there's something going on with Paimon, we just don't know what it is

Celestia doesn't like when Egeria try to transform the Oceanid to human and considered it ancient sin. What if.... human is the initial way/form that can beat Celestia. Because in Narcisdhhejskej( can't spell) quest. Rene/Jakob says that vision was provided so they can control the people's fate. Since the sage says that they want to evolve become stronger and that's with evolve like a human. So when the dragon can be evolve in human form. Then the dragon can be rival to Celestia and possible to dethrone them. And my wildest theory also probably Celestia is a human that achieve Godhood. But they don't want another human to pursue the Godhood so they provide them visions to shackle them and warn Teyvat being to not create human by the Fontaine prophecy
Now that's an interesting theory 🤔. Neuvillette implies that something is kind of fishy about humans too. And they are definitely being very closely watched by Celestia. Maybe this is the truth the Abyss twin wants us to find out. Now you have me thinking lol

One think I didn't quite understand, was Ixlel a normal dragon back in the day that was free and could move around? Or was she always in that statue to run the city? I really like the way Hoyo went with making the Dragon's technologically advanced. I was not expecting that route at all. Making them advanced with magic or power is normal, but I did not predict it with technology, love the way they did it and how everything looks. Also LOVED the part where you had the audio and screen cutting out because the book had missing parts, that felt so cool!
I was thinking about that I came to the conclusion that if she was speaking to him by his bedside then something about her was corporeal unless he set up a cot by the statue lol. Plus she thinks the statue is ugly so it probably wasn't made for her. I wonder what she looked like or how her position as a overseer array went. Also thanks for noticing my little editing experiment. I'm really glad you liked it 😁.
Im still a bit confused, and probably it will be more clear in the next patches, but for me the dragonlords were AI? Or they were dragons that “ascended” as dragonlords and be converted in the central processing unit of their cities.
