Excellent video, playing, explanation of the stereo effect (can’t believe JHS didn’t dig into that on their video, but it’s not how Madison Cunningham uses the pedal so I suppose that makes sense), AND alerting me to a TGP thread that sounds like something I need to read for my Monday morning laugh. Gotta love TGP some days… sigh.
Nice tone hacks! The aesthetic of the pedal is pleasing too- very much considered getting one of these. I can't wait for the red-head version, it bruises more easily but is less gullible than the blonde version.
What synchronicity! I was JUST researching this pedal to possibly buy one over a Behringer UV300 or a TCE Shaker, and the Breakdown gives me all the info i need.
Always terrific to see the detailed analysis and breakdown, thank you for taking the extra time to do the in depth work on how the pedals are working at the circuit level.
Thanks! I really just can't stop playing that thing. The only downsides are that the neck isn't easily adjustable (I'd need to take it off the body first) and the tuners could stand to be upgraded. But with 10's on it, the action is fine, and so far nothing's slipping once it's tuned up.
Transformers! Pffft! LOL! Also, I think that the stereo effect makes this pedal something I'd consider. I'm not much for "just" a vibrato. Maybe it is just me, but the half-decapitated icon on the Artificial Blonde kind of creeps me out. That would get stickered up if I ever bought this thing. That said, as I mentioned in the comments in another of your vids, I already have a Roland JC-40 so I have enough vibrato to suit my needs. Thanks for the run down! A great video as always!
The half-a-head definitely caught my eye more than your typical JHS artwork, but there is something to be said for stickers on a pedal. You should see what I did with my Fulltone Bass Drive. I'm kind of hoping that an Artificial Blonde v2 comes with a switch or an output that can self-close and bring both voices into the mix for mono players. I had a chance to try one of those JC-40's the other day, I was really blown away with the sound it packed. A lot quieter than my JC-120, too. Vibrato and chorus sounded spot-on. What an age we live in.
Seriously makes me want to play in stereo, and there's nobody else I trust to actually tell me how a stereo pedal is stereo-ing. It's like a new-age Dimension C in my opinion. IIRC the EQ section is actually a Big Muff tone stack. Great video for a Sunday morning.
For a little while, I accidentally left the Vibrato up on my JC120, so it was stereo vibrato with an extra vibrato kicker. *THAT* sounded dreamy. Makes sense about the Big Muff tone stack.
Love the JHS show, and have a VCR and a notaklon. Chrous and vibrato don’t tend to feature in my normal sound (I’m mostly playing Southern/classic rock) but I’m really enjoying them at the moment. I have a CE-5 a CE-2 clone and a DoD Vibrothang (which always sounds like a trek to me rather than a vibrato)
Nothing like opening TH-cam on a Sunday morning to see a new stompbox breakdown dropped 10 minutes ago.
I love that Bass Breakdown wears the cap, while Guitar Breakdown is clearly someone else altogether. Nice demo, as always!
The baritone through it sounded fantastic. Like a slowed down warped tape.
The stereo explanation was really nice
Thanks! I almost called you up to verify a few of the finer points, I hope I got at least most of that right.

So glad to see someone finally repping JHS on TH-cam!

Yeah I rarely use it so the Behringer is good enough for me. This sounds a lot richer tho. A lot.

Nice vid and Fernandez!

This pedal is a dish best served in headphones for the bedroom rocker recording savant.
Your videos are always fun and interesting. Thanks again for making and sharing!
Thank you so much!
Thank you so much! Always curious to see how my ramblings will land, glad this one was well-received.

@@StompboxBreakdown the only thing better than vibrato is more vibrato

Try throwing it on the cleans here and there, or a slow vibrato where you would normally use a phaser.
You should check out the Seymour Duncan Catalina, its become my fav after having many many chorus pedals which I understand this isnt
I’ve been interested in that one
Josh and buddy from EQD don’t like stereo so that means us consumers won’t get it.
The pedal *is* stereo. I’m saying it needs to be used in stereo to get the best effect
Both of those guys don’t like stereo and don’t put it in a lot or most of their pedals.
If it was stereo, what would be on the other channel? If it’s the dry signal you’d have a chorus or flanger.
Did you watch the video?
@@StompboxBreakdown I haven’t yet. But that’s what vibrato is. It’s a chorus with no dry signal.
@@DavidRavenMoon You're blowing my mind
@@DavidRavenMoon What kind of idiot clicks on a video if they don't plan on watching it? Watch the damn video, it'll answer your question.
@@DavidRavenMoonnope
it s seem so clise to vibrato inside original ce1
Yeah, I definitely heard that
So are you going to design one that is in stereo, then? 🤓
Did you watch the video?
The pedal has stereo. Did you even watch the video or Google the pedal?
