This track draws classical influences from Mars from Holst's Planets suite. This piece was later rediscovered by NWOBHM legends Diamond Head on their seminal Am I Evil and was subsequently covered by Metallica.
I now know where Diamond Head got their intro for "Am I Evil". I suppose Holst's "Mars, God of War" masterpiece is where good heavy metal bands got their scary sound.
@Keplerniac thanks for the tip, man. This intro got me into rock/metal music and it was in fact Metallica's cover of "Am I Evil". I remember the day when I've fallen in love with this kind of music. I think I was 11 or 12...
As rare as fuck, and just as good, almost like Angelwitch over 10 years before their time, John Cann, one of the greatest guitarists ever....R.I.P, you have given me endless pleasure.
To people who think Metallica or Diamond Head or Andromeda wrote the intro for this - they didn't. The intro is an excerpt from "Mars, Bringer of War" by Gustav Holst.
One of most influential and underrated bands ever. John Du Cann R.I.P.

Awesomeness! Thanks again late great John Cann for your musicianship!

The outro (last 20 seconds) is also from Holst: "Mercury, Bringer Of Joy".
Please provide a better background about the band.

yes thats true but andromeda and diamondhead brought it to an other level and both with a different interpretation
