    Hey was just wondering what two to one exhaust system you used for that sound? I like the look and it sounds great for an ex.

    Great build!. May I ask which top yoke you used as it doesn't seem to be the original? Thank you in advance!

      Thank you for taking the time to message me. Look at the very bottom of comments. I was asked that same question about a year ago. I would rather refer to my answer then because, as time passes, things get hazy. That comment at the bottom would probably be my best answer, and I would say you are paying attention as well as the other young man who asked that question before you. I have been trying to use my magic marker more, labeling parts. It definitely is a help when going back to reference.

      @@coolmonkeymc8268 Thank you for getting back to me so quickly. It looks like I will have to get creative in getting a fitting part! As you seem a veteran in building motorcycles would you be able to comment on the general applicability of triple tree uppers and lowers across models/brands? Thank you once again.

      @@darknessstefan My wife bought an 04 Ninja 250 from a local Harley shop a few years back. We gave it to our son-in-law to use in the summertime for work. I actually have it here now. Giving it a going over. I took some pics of the top triple tree. You would have to start researching. Maybe some of the Chinese models are compatible. If you have an email address, I can send you the pics. Hopefully, it will help.

    what parts did you use for the top fork yoke to mount the drag bar? do you know where i cant get?

      You're paying attention. I have a big lot of triple tree uppers and lowers. I think that came off an Yamaha XS400, but I'm not sure. I picked up an EX250 from a local Harley dealer, and it had a different triple tree too for dirt bike style handlebars. Wish I could help you more than that. Maybe some blogs might enlighten the mystery.

      Thanks for the fast reply. My bike is pretty similar to yours. The only difference is that i have fork clamp handlebars, and its killing my back. I recently bought triple tree uppers and lowers from an Kawasaki ER5, its pretty similar to an GPZ 500, that i own. So after seeing your bike i will buy a drag bar. Nice job on the bike btw, i like how you put the metal lattice on the back frame!

      And btw.. i see you swapped the original air box to KN filters. Did you have performance issues? Did you have to do some adjustments? Many posts on the internet discourages people to do that.

      Thank you, I drilled out the main jets. I have an assortment of very small bits,over the years I have tagged them for certain bikes .Runs just fine,warms up quick and has good acceleration.

    Did you adjust the frame to be able to put that saddle on it? Recently bought an EX500 and thinking of turning it into a café racer.

    • @coolmonkeymc8268
      @coolmonkeymc8268  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's right. Shorten the sub-frame. You can leave the bottom support. Just cut it where it meets the top tubes, shorten them a little, and then move them in. Then weld everything up.

      They're the Chinese ones on Ebay. If you're in a hurry, 4into1 has them on Ebay. They're out of San Francisco.
