Which one would you recommend woozoo globe or vornado 660. woozoo globe currently is AUD $74.99, and vornado 660 is AUD $179.99 in Australia. Vornado 660 is pretty much 2.5 times more expensive than woozoo.

The designs and durability of dehumidifiers have changed over the last 25 years. Currently I use a Medea brand and regularly clean it with a mix of soapy water and vinegar when the filter light blinks .

I bought one of those mini dehumidifiers (Amazon) because of a leak I had in a carpeted closet that also holds my water heater. I needed it after getting all the water I could out with our carpet cleaner machine. The biggest issue was the heat it put in the closet. It collected the moisture out of the air & carpet but with the closet door closed, the temperature in there was 5 to 10 deg hotter than just outside the closet. You may say it was the water heater heating up the closet but it wasn't. For example, I have a weather station set up with the sensor in the closet and it says inside and outside the closet are the same temp in normal situations. Dehumidifier is not running of course.

Just a heads-up for those looking to buy the Hurricane: it seems the model of Hurricane in this video is no longer made or sold. The new model (which looks exactly the same as the one in this video) has different air flow, velocity, power, adjustable height, and oscillation specs. Overall, the new model appears to be weaker than the old one, though it does state that it uses less power. The link in the description goes to the new model, not the one in this video.

As an owner of a dreo fan glad to see my purchase is so highly rated. I can confirm that on the lower settings it is quiet. That was the major factor for purchasing it as i didn't want a noisy fan for calls. We've used a lot of Lasko tower fans over the years. After having a Dreo humidifier, we took a chance on a tower fan the same price as the one you tested, and the wife (who has to sleep with a fan blowing at her) loooves it. The smart feature is a bonus but the fan itself is killer. Sound is hardly noticeable, the auto function acts like wind that speeds up and slows down, has timer, and you can change how much oscillation it has (30,60,90 or 180 degrees). But her favorite feature is the display is ambient, so when the lights are off it's dark instead of glowing in your face all night.

I also have a newer 633DC and love the DC fan motors. Having an adjustable power knob is so much better than being limited to 3 speeds, and turned all the way down its so quiet you have to be close to it to hear it at all.

To keep inline with the fan testing, you should test blower fans as well. Growing up in Florida, whenever we lose power bc of a hurricane, my wife son and I each keep corded blower near us to keep the hot humid air moving around us. They're not quiet, but they do a great job keeping us comfortable and don't have a high amperage draw on the genetator.

I must say that I'm a fan of this channel. I'm blown away by the quality of the content. A breath of fresh air as opposed to the mindless drivel of lesser product reviewers.
Curious about smaller 10" - 12" fans. The more compact type without the stands and oscillating parts. The sound of a fan is a soothing thing to me at night. Summer, Winter, I don't care, I NEED that sound. So the super quiet ones are not what I would go for. Pedestals and oscillation are not high priorities for me either. What I really look for is that is should not make any loud 60hz hums or if it rattles. Any kind of ticking, pinging or rattling and the summbich might go out the window. Another thing is resonance. Mains power is not perfectly smooth and can peak or dip. At any point in the fans speed range, whether by setting or fluctuations in power supply, if it resonates or begins any kind of throbbing sound, it too stands a chance at a 2 story, one-way ticket to the lawn. I like metal fans (wait, I AM a Metal fan..🤘🎸) But they risk being the worst at the resonant vibrations, since the blades can actually start singing or ringing out a steady, annoying tone akin to a tuning fork. As well as the metal parts of the shroud and grille tinging and rattling if not solidly fastened together.
Good fan: Manual control with real switches/knobs. Smooth operation. Compact. Steady white noise. NO rattles, hums, tings, or ringing. Switch accessible on the front is a bonus. Metal construction is a bonus.
Bad fan: Shaky, vibrates the table or vibrates itself off the table. Digital crapola. So weak that it blows nothing. Rattles, rings, hums etc.
    But that's my opinion.

Just for your information, most fans use a shaded pole motor and they vary the phase angle thus achieving different RPM under load. This is why you see mostly the same power usage on low and on high. The strator produces the same amount of magnetic field (thus requiring the same amount of power) but if the phase angle is too high it will have less torque. Less torque means lower achievable RPM under load. As an experiment you can remove the fan blade, and the measured RPM in all speed setting will be the same.
The DREO one running from DC and it most likely has a BLDC motor + inverter.

I have the Amazon fan, worked great for about a year until it decided to start oscillating all on its own and there was no turning it off. Even when you powered off the fan, it just kept oscillating. I even unplugged it waited like 30 minutes and as soon as I plugged it back in it started oscillating and I haven't turned it on yet. I ended up disconnecting the oscillating motor since it was obviously separate from the fan motor unlike the manual ones. The fan features still work and I still use it for now.

Purchased the WOOZOO globe fan from
Costco and it is the best one I’ve used. Huge upgrade from Vornado. Very quiet and powerful, oscillates U+D & L+R, and it’s fallen off of my bed once or twice without any damage. Bought three at $40 CAD.

Same. We’ve had a Pelonis DC motor fan for about a year (different model from the one in the video) and only use it in the summer. The fan itself is ultra quiet at low speeds but when oscillating, in the past few months it’s started to rattle and clunk - maybe I wouldn’t notice if the motor was louder. I tried tightening up everything but it didn’t help.

@F0XD1E I don't think I ever been in a situation where I disassemble a fan and found anything other than plastic gears.

I have a lasko standing fan, have had for about 2 years now, and it has ran essentially 24/7 every single day. Still going strong!
No wobble or squeaking sounds like most fans I have had. Doesn’t have a remote, timer, wifi, or anything fancy… but I’ve never needed any other features.
The main thing is periodically taking the cover apart and cleaning all the dust off the blades and front and back covers. Had so much dust on it I barely felt any air movement, but after cleaning it was back running just as great as it was 2 years ago.

Very useful. I have a Comfort Zone ($17) that has operated all night every night for six years and counting. I had another identical unit that smoked and died after 20 minutes. (!) I have two 18" Holmes, both of which slowed down considerably after two seasons, and required disassembly to clean and lubricate the bearings to restore their work ethic to original.

Your videos are so helpful. They inform me and save me money. KUDOS!!! Perhaps you would consider doing a comparison video on the Leatherman Wave+ (best-selling multi-tool of all time) against several wave clones. Or perhaps just a multi-tool showdown pitting all the top brands against each other. Victorinox, Gerber, Roxon, SOG and Leatherman. There are many who review these knives, but very few who test them in demanding situations. Thank you.

Whenever I need to buy an item, I always check this channel to see if he has tested any items (or something similar) that I'm looking for.
In my personal experience, he has NEVER disappointed in the items he's recommended after legit testing, much more thorough than any other channel on TH-cam, this guy's truly dedicated to discovering real-world results of the products he tests, some tests take a year or so to achieve long-term results.
    Solid reviews.
    Solid testing.
    Solid results.
