I guess that Pictureboard, She Couldn't and Could Have Been, together, are a sincere way to show the beautiful melancholy about failure in a romantic relationship; even if you hadn't been in a situation like that, you can truly feel that things, they get into you deeply; there's a great combination of music and lyrics in those three.
@NotALotOfColonial_SpaghettiToG I agree with you for "she couldn't", but i also considered it was about a mother leaving or a little baby girl dying... maybe a stillborn, or something. I don't know why but those seemed like possible stories to me. Or a girlfriend leaving her bf, as breakup instead. But yeah I think my first thought was someone's lover committed suicide. All 3 are very interesting songs.
It's interesting how these demos for Hybrid Theory sound more experimental than the final product. It shows LP always had always leaned to the experimental side even before they made it big.

Alone again... You go away
What do you mean that you don't know,
It's obvious you think you do
You think it's best to choose loneliness,
Afraid of what's right in front of you
(Go......)
What can I do when you turn away
except close the door,
Figure out how I'm gonna try again
Play it through to be with you
but alone again is how it's gonna end
(Then... go...)
Making my moves so carefully,
I feel it when you stare at me
(Alone again...)
Making my moves so carefully,
I feel it when you stare at me
(You go away...)
Making my moves so carefully,
I feel it when you stare at me
Making my moves so carefully,

But I guess you'll never find out)
I can't do anything that would say,
It won't be the same as yesterday
Say you're afraid to be with me
and I just pray you let the fear go away
(Go......)
And I can't see you as a friend
so now I know how this has got to end
Make it so nobody wins,
Ending this before it begins
(Go... go...)
Making my moves so carefully,
I feel it when you stare at me
(Alone again...)
Making my moves so carefully,
I feel it when you stare at me
(You go away...)
Making my moves so carefully,
I feel it when you stare at me

Linkin Park, mi mejor banda favorita; no me arrepiento de ser una gran fan que se enloquece al escuchar sus canciones y demos, me estremece escuchar cada tema y no dejan de asombrarme con tanto talento. CHESTER LEGEND.
