Lyrics:
I've seen her smiling
The sunlight shining on her now
She couldn't stay here
She knows you won't let her down
You know she couldn't stay here with you
You know she had to go
Even though she couldn't stay here with you
You know you're not alone.
No matter what you think you did wrong
She knew she had to go all along
No matter what you think you did wrong
She knew she had to go all along
I've seen her shining
The sunlight's crying for her now
She wouldn't stay here
She knows you won't let her down
You know she couldn't stay here with you
You know she had to go
Even though she couldn't stay here with you
You know you're not alone
No matter what you think you did wrong
She knew she had to go all along
No matter what you think you did wrong
She knew she had to go all along

Chester made the world a brighter place!
True
It's always been pretty dark&broken, but maybe we didn't realize fully to what extent. But I have to say, we gotta stay at least a bit positive deep inside, and keep trying to cope, and change things for the better... die trying.
Music helps.

Wow you are so right!
This song feels both familiar and unfamiliar at the same time, like a sense of "new" nostalgia from a time that has long passed us by.

The chorus to me instantly felt like I had heard it before.
I think it reminds me of some Buddhist/Asian meditation music I used to listen to as a kid to aid falling asleep XD

I got a lot of "My December" vibes, that's why it felt so familiar to me
Well it might feel familiar since it was leaked 11 years ago in 2009 and it was available on TH-cam ever since. But I am happy it is finally available in decent quality. :)
This song is both so melancholic and nostalgic. Like looking through a window to the past of late 90's and early 2000's, you can see it but you can't go back to it.

I turn to Linkin Park, during bad times and good times.
I miss Chester every day.i never got to meet you Chester, but the void you left won't ever be closed. I miss u so much Chester
This song, is like finding an old message from a friend who has passed, a short video wishing you happy birthday, an old voice mail just checking in on you and hoping you having a good day, Something so familiar you feel nostalgia from but entirely new cause you had never found it before. Every time i listen to this, i cry, not just cause i miss chester, but this brings me back to that era of Hybrid Theory. LP has been with me thru most of my life, and i really cant express how much this band has influenced me, saved my life and kept me going. Thank you LP,
I couldn't describe it any better.
For a lot of people LP has been joy and solid ground, for good or bad. Looking at your comment i can't find better words than the ones you used.
Out yeah. Linkin Park was and is an inspiration for me. But now at the time I can understand Chester Bennington. Because only a person with depression can understand another person with depression. Even I won't get old. 40 or 50 is a good age because you are, mostly, in the middle of life and at this time it's going downhill with the health. And without the best friend like he was, even I don't know what I've done in this situation. I can understand him
@@96EisbrecherFan I hope you'll get to enjoy the small things again, and after 40-50 as well (if we're alive)... It requires effort and *some* deep positivity (some breaks from reality etc), which is so hard to find when you see even life itself is crumbling down, but yeah.
💕

Linkin Park literally saved my life 13 years ago. I was deeply depressed and suicidal. I wanted to download music to listen to as I “went” and somehow found Numb. It was like the song had been written for/about me. I listened to more of their songs and saw the amazing community of fans and realised that I wasn’t alone.
I got the chance to meet them in 2014 and shook Chester’s hand and told him thank you. It was honestly the best day of my life.
Everyday is a struggle when you have mental health problems but, like you will have heard many times before, you have to be strong. Even if it’s just to get out of bed. Set that as a goal and achieve it. Then set bigger and bigger goals.

me 2❤️
That was me 20 years ago. Hybrid Theory saved my life. It's been one hell of a rollercoaster ride for me for the last 20 years and it seems like everytime I'm struggling LP either released a new song or a new album and it pulled me back. Hybrid came out 2 weeks after my moms best friend passed from cancer she was like an aunt to me I loved her so much and I was struggling so bad. Meteora came out not long after my grandpa died which I also struggled hard with. One more light came out a month after my niece died. Then the most amazing experience happened in 2019. Chester was gone but he still showed up when I needed it most. My father had passed away from cancer I was sitting on my floor making photo boards for his funeral (closed casket) crying so hard cuz it hit me like a ton of bricks at that moment. My phone chimed look at the notification its youtube. "Mark Morton cross off feat Chester Bennington" I of course cried even harder because although he was gone it was like chester knew I needed him. There was something with every album but to put them all here this would be a very long comment. 20 years worth of LP or Chester being there for me is alot.
One step closer explained my teenage years and in the end is still my favorite song ever
I'm 15 i used to listen to Lp since 8.i was a happy kid till chester left...that's why I'm depressed and suicidal their songs have saved me and made me last till now. Rip💔chester

I met Chester 10 years ago. Linkin Park was playing in my country that day and we were chasing him just to see him from afar, but when he spotted us outside of a restaurant, he was kind enough to get close to say hi and sign autographs. I was so nervous that I didn't want to let go of my little notebook and he smiled and asked to give it to him. My friend hugged him and he returned the hug. Just now finding this... My brother introduced me to Linkin Park. He gave me Hybrid Theory when it first came out. Linkin Park has helped me through so much in my life. They taught me how to recognize things like anxiety and depression in a world where mental health was a stigma. They literally saved me. I lost my brother Dec 23, 2020 and as I'm coping with his loss I find myself finding comfort in their lyrics. Yes most of them remind me of him and yes that makes me cry, but I realize every album reminds me of a different time in my life and of the different things I've been through and overcome. I agree. The world felt socially more at bay without people protesting or calling for extremism as much as today. The music was better too. Technological innovation was still exciting and didn't feel like it was as addictive or demanding like today such as PS2, Xbox, Yahoo messenger, MSN messenger, MySpace, pre-2012 TH-cam and the youth in safe areas of the world seemed to enjoy hanging outside more.
Can we have a Chester biopic/documentary? His life is a lesson in partnership and empathy. The more people get to understand and see that, the better, I think.
Indeed. A lot of cyncical and selfish people in this world and there are these people that are his fans. The reality, Chester doesn’t tolerate hatred and negativity.
I've heard that Chris Cornell and he were working on exposing a trafficking ring. I don't know the motivation for writing this song but I could see how this song could come into play with that. Those are 2 people 2020 could really use...

Biopic is a great idea!
Id say move on and focus on people who you got on 2020, theres no point dwelling on the past jist accept that some people are depressed and thats life but we also got millions of people who have had so much fun and babies and wives and great summers coz of a five man band with few managers and mixers, like if Queen can tour with Adam Lambert still to this day why LP couldnt have a second run. Theyre still very talented people who got huge, loyal global fanbase throwing money and love around very freely

Chester. I miss him so much! After all these years im sorry am sorry am sorry.
This is so good but you must hear “The Wave” or “Live Not Survive” by SLT 🌊🤘🎸
Same
Chester's been gone for 3 years and still makes better music than any living person.
Except this is an already recorded, unreleased song lol
Bilbo Ballbag oh really? I thought he came back from the dead just to sing for us

This song makes me feel like in the 2000s using my windows pc after school on 4pm with stale evening sunlight peeking inside the room through the curtains.
I am still 15 ( yeah dats my face in pfp).I used to play on my intel pentium pc too .Around 2010.We still have the pc.Times till 2013 were good.Good cartoons good shows.Good games everything.Glad i could express my self here. Thanks if u read it

this song is really beautiful yet it makes me really sad too.
knowing what happened to chester really just makes this song hit harder. :(
Out of all the LP songs, somehow this one makes me want to cry the most. Painful ephemerality.
I can’t still accept that Chester is no more :( he just left a big void ...! Rest In Peace in your world brother ..!
He left a massive hole in everyone's heart that he touched. He will never be replaced. All those famous musicians and not one could hit the notes that Chester did. It's a blessing and a curse, while he was unique and had a range out of this world, 90% of singer can't just his songs justice. It will be hard to find someone who can
Elegant James you are absolutely right ., miss all the high and low notes the screams ..! The fire 🔥 tattooed forearms ..! will live forever in our hearts ..!
He really did leave a massive ass hole.
I can't believe that he did a cameo in saw 3d
There are three deaths in life
“The first is when the body ceases to function
The second is when the body is consigned to the grave
The third is that moment, sometime in the future, when your name is spoken for the last time”
We all know that Chester will live forever
You are 100 % correct, his legacy will never be forgotten and if it does that only means this world has come to an End
Actually a 4th time too and the last time is more important than ANY of the others.
Heavy
Copied this from glorious my macklemore
I watched a vid of the most iconic metal/hard rock voices of all time. Chester is on there. I don't remember what number. But, it'll be a long time before his name is no longer spoken of. If that ever happens. He left an impression.
To be honest, Linkin Park is one of my escape in this fuckin called reality. Their music helped me to heal those wounds that i get from the past. LP is part of my life.❤love lots
I miss you Chester, always.
Even though this song is 20 years old, it sounds better than the music today.
Maybe you are hearing the wrong music :) the music today is great
@@lassehansen1580 definately, when you compare mainstream today to 10 or 15 years ago. Personally i can listen to alot of radio stuff and enjoiy alot of it. Maybe i just grew as a person but i also think it got better.
most music 20 years ago was a lot better, at least most mainstream music.
@@randomuser-vs3oe thats why i said 10-15 years. Huge difference imo
A lot of music today is junk
He was a good musician.
He was a good friend.
He was a good father.
He was a good husband.
He was a good man.
And... he was a good legend. May the Peace be with u Chester Bennington.
Legends rarely die and Chester I doubt ever shall, nor his LP family whom as a unit had created and voiced so much through their music 💓
💙🇬🇧
He IS a good legend.
He was. He really was.
It's not his fault or anybody's. We thought he was happy.
His music's... he sings when talk to us. He's trying to tell me something... ...Something important.
still getting goosebumps if i listen to these songs, if i get reminded chester is gone forever, if i hear my favorite songs loud on headphones...
LP gave me so much as i was young... i will love linkin park until i leave this earth. thank you so so much!
Man that “she wouldn’t stay heeeeeeeere” on the 2nd verse gives me the chills. Definitely one of my favorite Chester vocals
The comment section is just so wholesome. All of us LP soldiers getting together to enjoy this 💜💜.
Thank you Linkin Park. And Chester, you are still missed.

Шикарная песня.... Да, невыносимо тяжело терять любимых и дорогих сердцу лудей... Постоянно пульсируюшая боль, изменяющая сознание... От бессилия что-либо изменить......
Me too ... I was stuck in a room of life . LP help me alot thru their music
One of those hidden gems, once you discover it, it brings you back to life. Beautiful melody and the lyrics just brings it to a new level. Relatable to everyone. Miss this band.

I've heard plenty of Linkin Park songs over my lifetime, but this year I've discovered Papercut, and have listened to Hybrid Theory in full + Reanimation.
How lucky am I to get a demo from that era + more in the same year!
I feel like I'm just discovering and experiencing the most authentic version of Linkin Park and it's so heartfelt, thank you for your existence!
You should listen to meteora, hybrid theory EP and songs from the underground
logan has failed The guy you replied to has 29 million subscribers lol
wow.. papercut was how my journey started.. well after seeing one step closer on mtv, of course. So i consider it somewhat the start of my LP journey. and what a powerful start it was ! i still love to play it on drums and i still can't master it quite to my own high standards.
❤❤
you should really make some Linkin Park mixes bruh
Chester, an extra ordinary human being. Unique talent, irreplaceable soul. Love and awe always.
This is honestly one of the very best LP-Tracks.

It was my first and only time seeing them and a highlight for sure. LP for life
These lyrics helped me rethink how I view someone who left us by taking their own life.
