Nail student here, in 3rd week. I am hoping to offer pedicures, particularly to the elderly as a health service for them. Thank you for this video, and I would love to see more, particularly on nail care for the elderly, addressing any differences that might be necessary in nail care, using the spa treatments, massage, etc…

You might want to get certified for medical nail service. You work mostly through Dr offices. Hours are better. No polishing either as it's not done. Even if you choose to stay in the salon it will make you a better tech.

Yes, they are my toes lol I really liked the new scent. It's not too strong. If you or your clients enjoy a more fruity scent over a clean one, you'll like this.

Why not soak & perform pedicure before gel polish?
When applying gel polish, we prefer to apply it to a dry nail that has not been soaking. If the nails have been soaking, they tend to "swell" up and this can affect adhesion. In addition, if you do the full pedicure with scrubs, lotions and oils, it can be harder to remove these and give the nail a clean, dry surface for the gel to adhere to. Once the gel is applied, it is safe to soak the feet/toe nails without any issues of chipping or peeling.
How much would this service be?
The pricing would depend on if you want to charge more for gel than if it was regular polish. Then we would add a $5 charge for the glitter on top of the base price.

Why do you polish before you soak. I would think that might lead to chipping, just like doing too many dishes does to your fingernails if you dont wear gloves.

Thank you for the feedback. Gloves are not required. We made sure to sanitize both the techs hands and the clients feet. Make sure to check with your state board on what is required where you live.
