As a navite of Wyoming I've long been aware of what the state has to offer. When I think of Wyoming the term "miles and miles of nothing but miles and miles" usually pops into my head as it was one of my father's favorite ways to describe the great state.

These BDRs are such an amazing thing to introduce to the world right now. We've become so disconnected with the world and each other. These routes offer a re-connection of both. Re-connecting people in the groups that ride together, and also with the small towns an communities along the way. Then riders get to experience the incredible beauty of the world around them while being able to stay respectful of it. Thank you so much for what you are doing.

It definitely seemed that there were a few riders that wanted to camp more, but they catered to the majority with them, who were probably deterred by the cold Wyoming wind on the nights they did camp. While I would definitely camp the whole route, I also respect that they were trying to promote and support the local businesses. I will say that where you camp makes a big difference when dealing with Wyoming weather.

My husband is there for work right now (May 2022) where he's at it snowed a couple days ago and he tells me it's so, so windy!!! And weather changes every few hours! But he says the scenery is nice (in some parts) so far he's enjoying his stay, also tells me that everyone has been very nice and friendly to him.

I worked in and near Gillette Wyoming for a year two weeks on two weeks off. Wide open country. Hard to find a place to stay, even in Gillette. Forget about a place to stay during Sturgis Rally. Do not go there in the winter! Snow never stops until everything is buried and it always snows sideways. All entrance ramps to highways has a gate to lock you in where you’re currently are when it snows.

@@captainamerica9353 Previous to this video the BDR's were around $20 each. Available on Amazon Prime Video or Touratech. The BDR crew spends a lot of time and money to make these routes & videos happen. I've bought a few before and was happy to support them. So yes, I'm happy they've released all of them here on YT. That is all I was saying. I'm aware of the YT machine and the game we all have to play when using it. But, if we don't like their rules we can stop using it. That said, I've just learned to play the game and have even made money on YT.

So interesting tidbit, the wilderness areas of the Wind River mountains, just north of where the BDR route passes, is the most remote area in the US outside of Alaska. Also a place which is stunningly beautiful alpine terrain, but few people ever see it because it takes several days backpacking just to get in there.

What a compelling piece of film making Sterling thank you. I'm so jealous of the wonderful opportunities for exploration open to you guys over the pond. Here in the UK the vast majority of our beautiful country is owned by wealthy people who have inherited Square mile upon square mile of land from privileged family lines and who are in no way inclined to share it with anybody...... certainly not motorcyclists. "Get off my land!" is what we get at every turn ..... You are so fortunate to live in the greatest country in the world 👍

What a fabulous pioneering job for mountain biking (and even distance walkers). You will get the safety advantage of regular motorcycle teams passing thru very remote country should you get into extreme crisis, like injury while being un-motorized. This has great potential to aid both sports. It will be awhile before it gets so crowded as to be “done”.

As a hobbyist videographer and serious photographer, biker and creator, and ruthless critic, this production was hands down the best I have seen. the videography was superb, the quality of the shooting, the storyline, the vivid colors was astonishing. The audio crystal clear. The drone shots, gorgeous. The interviews made it come alive. This raised the bar for me. Kinda like an IMAX movie or BBC documentary. THAT GOOD.
    Bravo.

Love the WYBDR footage. When I rode through Wyoming on the Continental Divide it just looks like Wyoming is a big desert, but it has so much more to offer. I will say, I enjoy the serene and wide open empty spaces of the desert more than most, but love the footage your team has captured. Makes me wanna ride the BDR! Keep up the great work.

So we have to do extra research and planning where we can't take the truck and trailer and just appreciate the BDR and the people behind creating these awesome routes. What an awesome route. Have done several BDR's. In the process of getting some of my local buddies committed on a '24 WY BDR run. I get that BMW supports your efforts$$$, but it is beyond me why someone would want to ride a 600lb motorcycle, when you could ride a 650 single or 700 twin with soft bags which would be better in every measurable way, and enjoy the more technical parts of the ride with so much less mental and physical stress. To each their own. I digress. Can't wait to run this next year either on my t7 or my 650 that I ran the ID and NM bdr on. Thank you guys so much for all the hard work you do to create these awesome routes.

  • @user-mj6fe5jf9z
    @user-mj6fe5jf9z 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Thanks for putting this together, it has been very enjoyable to watch and think about how I can possibly do the WYBDR.
I have two critiques. The first is the tire with a sidewall gash. That is a non-pluggable issue and for those with tubeless tires, it is vital to carry a tube(s) so you can attempt to get to the main road and correctly repair the tire. I fully understand why you had a SAG wagon on this trip. I just want to throw that out there as a reminder. The second is the broken wrist. Unfortunate as that was it may have been avoided if he was NOT trying to film the sheep and ride simultaneously. Motorcycling in all genres requires perpetual vigilance and attention. Taking your eyes and mental focus off the path of travel, even for 1-2 seconds can be catastrophic. My point is, to stop and look at the sheep, then ride, not both at the same time. Once again just my thoughts on this and I do realize that things happen that are out of our control. Kudos to the rancher and the Jeepers. I have had Jeepers help in the past with, non-other than a broken wrist in a remote area of West Va. Great Bunch.

Well said, cause when you venture off alone on your own, you are better off in your 4x4 Jeep, as you see here, they have a support vehicle and without it, they would be out there for days to get a broken bike back to civilization, but you can carry your own repair kits on your Jeep.

Thanks for allowing me to come along, vicariously, on your excellent adventure. Two thumbs up for the motion picture Crew for the Professional filming you did. The whole thing was a joy to watch.

7 months of training at BMW performance center. What does that mean? Surely not there training every week.

Just mind blowing ... what an amazing project, real adventure just outside of your back gate, we have nothing like this in the UK, over such vast distances with so few people . I love how you're intertwining the communities into the project and making them understand the importance of moto tourism .. that way when the powers that be and the fun police try to curb what we do... the army and support will be huge .... good on ya 🙌👌

Great documentary, looks like a very enjoyable experience. Wish I could go on a ride like that with good people. Hopefully soon, got to pick which bike I want first. Lol
    Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for all the effort in planning this great route and making this great film to showcase it. Nice all to see a range of rider ability and bikes on the trip...not just experts.

Kudos.....that said a small suggestion. Add a side trip to the Red Desert , if you've never heard of it go spend a bit of time riding it , you will NOT be disappointed.

Anyone else spend 7 months at the BMW performance center preparing for a BDR? That's a unique training experience.

Home Depot in the local area sold lumber that they harvested from the beetle kill and it dyed the wood beautiful colors.

Question for your photographer. Does your gear handle being banged around well or do you carry it in your backpack to avoid too many big shocks?

Thanks for posting this, I missed seeing it when you screened it in Ft Collins. Looks like a really fun route, I'm trying to figure out a good way to get back home to Denver, don't really feel like riding the entire way home on I-25 on a 690 Enduro

We're leaving a pickup in Wamsutter Wy, riding down to the start in Baggs via the Red Desert side trip, and then at the end we're picking up a 10' Uhaul in Cody and bringing the bikes back to our vehicle in Wamsutter... the Uhaul in only around $150. Looking forward to riding it in August!!
