Remember: my Country has thousands of food recipes, because even small neighboring villages often have a tasty variation of the same recipe, or have their own culinary specialty. Please inform your compatriots that Italy has the best culinary tradition in the world, the most varied, the tastiest.

      “Warm weather” as long as you stay near the coastline ahah, in the north especially in the plane it is foggy, cold and gloomy during winter and an hot hell with mosquitoes during summer.

    I like how the Italians just say, pecorino, mozzarella, parmesan. Americans add the word "cheese" after all of these words, making it redundant.

      @@anunnaki9493 Well...People living in the U.S. define themselves as Americans, whereas other (Canadians, Mexicans, people living in Latin American) tend to use the specific name of the country. So I guess the author of the original post is quite correct.

      Lo sai che la ricetta della Cotoletta Milanese, rigorosamente di vitello, è stata importata a Vienna durante l'occupazione austriaca del Lombardo-Veneto, e ribattezzata Wienerschnitzel (Cotoletta Viennese) da quei ladroni?
      Come tu certamente saprai, vivendo in D, oggi, nei paesi di lingua tedesca, cioè D, A, CH, Alto Adige, etc., la Wienerschnitzel
      la trovi in ogni ristorante, quasi sempre di carne di maiale. Solo nei ristoranti di livello superiore, la puoi trovare di vitello...
      E pensare che ho avuto spesso delle discussioni con dei Tedeschi e Austriaci, ignoranti e cocciuti, che, con arroganza, rivendicavano la "paternità" della COTOLETTA MILANESE. Brutta cosa l'ignoranza.

      @@robertopesenti1173 Sì, so di questa diatriba, benché la cotoletta alla milanese preveda una dimensione maggiore rispetto a quella austriaca. Anche il nome "orecchia di elefante" lascia supporre il primato meneghino sull'antagonista. Comunque nei ristoranti si fa differenza tra Wienerschnitzel (rigorosamente di vitello e anche costosetta) e Schnitzel "Wiener Art" (cioè "alla modalità viennese") che è una qualsiasi fettina panata di maiale o carne bianca.

      @@palwashadurrani4551 Three degrees of cooking pasta - al dente, firm, tender. From my experience, Italians more often go with al dente, while Americans go with firm or tender. My preference is al dente. For a topping you can have sauce marinara, shrimp, meat, chicken, squid, many more. Find what works best for you. Add small pieces of diced carrots to make the sauce sweeter. Also oregano, peppers, parsley, basilico, garlic, salt, parsley, pepper. But don't overdo it, then you have goulash.

    Each region will have their favourites. I'm from an area near Trieste, so my favourite dish would be polenta with baccala mantecato.

    When flight restrictions are ended (this is May 2021) I am for flying to Milan and having ravioli with figs, lemon and greens at the family restaurant I used to frequent.

    Quando vivevo a Firenze il piatto italiano che mi era piaciuto di più era pici al cinghiale. Lo mangiavo sempre alla Trattoria Anita vicino a Palazzo Vecchio. È come il paradiso davvero, non vi mentirei mai di questo, dovete assagiarlo se mangiate carne!

      Because Milan is a more globalized city if you go outside Milan espacially in Southern Italy all the people can cook. Southern Italians are more attached to their regional traditions and to Italian cuisine in general

      Penso che non si è parlato di dolci soprattutto perché la parola "piatto" fa spesso riferimento a un primo o un secondo, è difficile che qualcuno dica "piatto" per intendere (o includere) un dolce, come dice Easy Italian meritano una puntata a partr

      Erbazzone is typical from Reggio Emilia, a city near Bologna in Emilia Romagna, but you can find it also in the province of Modena and Parma. It is not quite famous and know neither, but it’s delicious! You sure have to try it!

      Spaghetti alle vongole o ai frutti di mare is a dish very common in Southern Italy. It was born in Naples and it is mostly consumed in Campania region

    Fave e cicoria, se guardiamo alla cucina tradizionale della mia Regione, la Puglia, ma se guardiamo all'Italia, le tagliatelle alla bolognese, la pasta con il pesto, la lasagna, la carbonara (rigorosamente con il guanciale), sono i miei primi preferiti. Per i secondi, io preferisco il pesce alla carne, anche se una grigliata mista di quest'ultima non si può non mangare almeno un paio di volte l'anno; per il pesce orata o spigola al cartoccio, che son più facili da trovare e da preparare, ma nel periodo buono, chi non si tuffa in una zuppa di pesce... e poi adoro i frutti di mare, meglio crudi che cotti e se non avete mai provato, consiglio anche gli scampetti crudi... Come dolce, indubbiamente il tiramisù :-) ma per i cannoli siciliani ho un debole.... sono troppi? Ma è impossibile, nel nostro panorama culinario, avere UN SOLO PIATTO PREFERITO :-) e a tal proposito, una bella mozzarella di bufala, ci sta sempre ....

    Katie è - credo - la straniera che parla meglio l'italiano che io abbia mai sentito in tutta la mia vita.
    Persino meglio della mia ex moglie, che è italoamericana con doppio passaporto.
    La sua pronuncia è pressoché perfetta e non si capirebbe che non è madrelingua se non dopo un po', quando magari le capita di scandire alcune parole difficili in modo solo leggermente "artificioso".

    Mi manca molto l'Italia :(
    Avrei dovuto viaggiare a dicembre ma non potevo a causa di un problema di salute la mattina del mio volo. Quindi ho prenotato un altro volo per febbraio ... ma il coronavirus aveva altri piani. Spero che tutto andrà bene nel mondo e sopratutto in Italia. Spero di poter tornare presto. Grazie per questi video - mi fanno sorridere :)

      I understand your opinion but there are thousands of way to cook pasta and it varies a lot from region to region..that's also why you hear just "pasta"..
      I write you some dishes I like and are not so well known abroad.
      Gnocco e tigelle (typical dish in Emilia Romagna, my region)
      Tortelloni burro e salvia
      Saltimbocca alla romana
      Scaloppine ai funghi
      Google it and enjoy it someday in Italy! 😉

      Those are the most common dishes you can cook. Also they shot these interviews in Milan, a city that has the highest number of foreigners in Italy so young people have more choices and less patience to cook more unique dishes. If you go in the countryside the situation is different, especially in countryside's restaurants or "trattorie" which often have regional food.

      To make it simple for you, there are 150 (or more) types of pasta...so saying each of them would be pretty difficult, but there are a lot and they change for each region

      The matter that us Italians love pizza and pasta it's not a stereotype but the truth! The metter is not that we are lazy or snob about other foods, the matter is that pasta and pizza are made to be changed and personalised in so much ways that is impossible to be bored about its taste and this peculiarity risks to make pizza and pasta the "perfect food". You have a base, than you can personalise it as you want, it's like a white canvas for a painter!😉

      Lewis North I’m from Piemonte but my mum’s family is from Veneto.🙈 Definitely Veneto, and generally Northern Italy, is really different from Southern Italy in terms of food, but both cuisines are delicious.

      It depends, there is pasta aglio olio e peperoncino (which is chilly pepper), there are a lot of salamis that are pepper and chilly seasoned, there is Calabria's 'nduja that is a salami to spread into bread or to melt in some sauces that are chilly pepper based, in pasta alla carbonara black pepper is fundamental as in cacio e pepe (cheese and pepper), pasta all'arrabbiata too!     Le lasagne con la mozzarella è una variante della regione Campania.
    In Italia in genere la mozzarella nelle lasagne non la mettiamo; preferiamo usare la besciamella, almeno questa è la tradizione classica bolognese.
    Comunque nessuno ha parlato di "pasta al pesto", sono un po' offeso.... :-)

    I love pizza, pasta and tomato bruschetta, though I'm sensitive to gluten and I usually feel bad after eating. 😔 Because of this I don't eat them anymore.

    Ma come fa un italiano a rispondere "la pasta"?
    Per un italiano la pasta non è un piatto, la pasta con un condimento è un piatto e ogni combinazioni ha un sapore diverso. Non è che se il mio piatto preferito sono gli spaghetti con le vongole automaticamente devo preferire qualsiasi altro primo piatto alla pizza o a un secondo.

      Because they are in Milan and "Parmigiana di melanzane" is a dish typical of Southern Italian regions, especially Campania and Puglia

      If you check on the Italian Wikipedia (cucina italiana), Italy ha more than 4000 dishes and/or products. Italian cuisine is very regional. Only few dishes are known by all the Italians. The rest is known only by the locals.

      Ciao, "mica" è una negazione. "Mica male" lo puoi tradurre con "Non male". Lo si usa anche e soprattutto per rafforzare una negazione (Non + verbo + mica): "Non sono mica stupido", oppure "Non sarei mica capace di parlare cinese". Con "mica", la negazione diventa più forte. Ricorda però che è piuttosto informale: nel linguaggio scritto e nel linguaggio parlato formali è preferibile evitarlo.

    La parmigiana di melanzane, la caprese (insalata di pomodoro e mozzarella di bufala DOC conditi con olio extravergine d'oliva e basilico), il sartù di riso, il gateau di patate, la spigola al sale e ogni sorta di risotto (unica concessione non campana). Desserts: primo posto in assoluto la sfogliatella riccia napoletana (cosiddetta "coda d'aragosta"), la sciù al caffè (importata dalla presenza francese ad inizio '800), i cannoli siciliani, la brioche al gelato. Non sono un gran fan del babà, invece.

    Interessante quanti italiani si dichiarino appassionati estimatori della carbonara nonostante, tra tutte le preparazioni che coinvolgono la pasta, sia probabilmente quella meno genuinamente italiana. Nonostante le controversie in proposito, infatti, c'è una discreta possibilità che la ricetta che conosciamo oggi sia nata soltanto negli anni quaranta, quando le massaie italiane si ingegnarono ad adattare la loro cucina alla disponibilità degli ingredienti più facilmente reperibili nonostante la scarsità di risorse: le uova del pollaio e il bacon che accompagnava in massa le truppe americane.

    So I'm wondering is authentic Italian lasagne not made with ricotta? Is that an Italian-American thing? It's always been my absolute favorite, followed by pizza and spaghetti with a nice ragu.

      In Italy you won't find a lasagna with ricotta and ragù sauce. We use besciamella that is a variation of French besciamelle. You can find some variations of white lasagnas with pesto and ricotta, ricotta and pesto al pistacchio and so on

      @@fabiuccio74 In Southern Italy we don't use besciamella (it is typical of Emilia Romagna and Toscana), we use Mozzarella and ricotta (especially in Campania) for the Neapolitan Lasagna

    I like a lot of things about Italy. The food is not one of them. I realize I’m in the minority, but I was raised on the other side of the Mediterranean. To me pasta is bad bread and pizza is good bread ruined by the tomato sauce. And I feel the same way about putting cheese on eggplants as the Italians do about putting cheese on fish. 🤷🏻‍♀️

    3:31 Pazzo!!! L' olio non ci va nella cacio e pepe!!
    Il pepe lo fai tostare nella padella senza niente e poi sfumi con un mestolo di acqua di cottura della la pasta che si sta già cuocendo.
    Facendo così l'acqua, ricca dell'amido degli spaghetti, si lega con il pepe tostato e forma una cremina.
    Versa altra acqua di cottura (poca) sul pecorino romano grattugiato e mescola fino a che non raggiunge una bella consistenza pastosa.
    Togli gli spaghetti ancora molto al dente, cotti in acqua con pochissimo sale (il pecorino è già bello salato di suo).
    Metti da parte l'acqua di cottura, Non buttarla!
    Finisci a 'risottare' gli spaghetti in padella mescolandoli alla cremina di pepe e aggiungendo, quando necessario, l'acqua di cottura.
    Quando gli spaghetti arriveranno a cottura togli la padella dal fuoco, attendi un minuto per far abbassare la temperatura della padella.
    A questo punto ci butti dentro il composto di pecorino e inizi a mantecare, aggiungendo all'occorrenza altra acqua di cottura.
    Tutto questo per evitare che si formino grumi di pecorino e per ottenere quella sublime cremina che è cibo degli dei!
    E non fatemi parlare di quelli che hanno detto che mettono la pancetta nella carbonara!

    Non sono sicuro ma gli ingredienti dalla pasta alla carbonara è:
    Guanciole, pecorino, pepe nero, uova intere, parmigiano reggiano, vino bianco e rigatoni... Ma non essiste una ricetta essata.
    Pasta alla carbonara è delizioso!!!!

      obvious you havent been to italy , im from south america and italy and japan are my favourite countries for food and history, and in italy they have many foreign foods like sharwma sorry for the spelling but many of eastern foods and why would italians eat others when they have a faboulous food choices there.

    Quando si parla di Cucina Italiana, è un pochino riduttivo limitarsi solo alla Pizza, visto che qui da noi basta andare da Comune a Comune, e scopriamo che una ricetta varia, e spesso cambia totalmente ma il piatto raggiunge la stessa squisitezza. Certo noi Italiani ci vendiamo male come al solito, cosa che i Francesi sanno fare molto meglio di noi, ma nella realtà il contesto culinario Italiano è vastissimo e inutile dire speciale, affermo questo dopo anni di esperienza nel girare e documentare per importantissimi Network Italiani e stranieri cosa è nella realtà, la Cucina Italiana, ma soprattutto la vastità in numeri e in altissima qualità dei prodotti Alimentari Italiani. I Network BBC, ABC, NHK Japan, ZDF. "Da Roma in giù usano l'Olio (non di macchina) ma di oliva Extravergine, tutt'altra cosa diciamo, non solo nel gusto, ma soprattutto dal punto di vista della salute. .. Claudio Galeno (129 d.C. - 216 d.C.) padre della moderna farmacopea definì l'olio della Sabina come "il migliore del mondo conosciuto"... e il Mondo conosciuto all'epoca, era il Mondo.
