What a great channel to discover! Greetings from Norway! Saluti dalla Norvegia! When I visit Italy, I greatly enjoy sitting down at a table outside a cafe, order a caffè coretto al brandy, sip it slowly and watch people passing by. To me, that is a recipe for true happiness 😀☕️🍷❤️
Thank you for posting this. In a "non-pandemic" school year I usually bring in my espresso machine and teach my students the differences between the drinks you mentioned, and how to make them. This video saved my lesson! Grazie mille e saluti da NJ negli stati uniti!
@@easylanguages Can we ask for a sweet cappuccino? They don't ask you how much sugar you want inside? Here in Greece, they are waiting for you to tell them
I lovelovelove this channel. This is the first time I’m actually watching language videos every day instead of giving up after day 3. Something about this system works for my brain. Oh, and Franco is fabulous - such calm digniy. 😎
My knowledge of French helps me breeze through this. Although I can't speak Italian very well, I could understand probably 90% of this video without subtitles. Grazie millie.
More more easy italian! I love the language, the kitchen is the best for me. The country is beautiful, worth to visit. I am learning now italian. Last but not least you are so lovely and nice.😊
When I was studying abroad in Italy, I would have cappuccino and a pastry everyday for breakfast in a bar by my school. They would cost €1.80 in total. I got back here in the states and I can't help it, I need cappuccino every morning. The cappuccino in cafes here are around $5.00! And they're not half as good as the ones I have in italy. I had no choice but to buy my own espresso machine. It saves me loads of money
one more thing! italian espresso is way more concentrated than what you find abroad. in my experience "foreign" espresso is about the same as an americano in italy (aka caffè lungo). also even when you order macchiato, cappuccino or americano in italy forget about the watered down half a litre beverages you find at starbucks etc. coffee is always quite small as you see in the video.
@@azize9248 I am Italian and at first I thought she was Italian lol , then I heard just a few words that scream “foreigner” in the accent ... but really her Italian is perfect .

What else?
I would also like to know how to order and enjoy coffee in a bar, meaning the difference between standing at the bar and sitting at a table… where and when do you pay, can you seat yourself after getting it at the bar? etc.
When i hear "italian coffee" it reminds me the coffee from a moka machine, or "machinetta" as italians call it. And i find it richer in flavor with similar intensity.
I do appreciate your hard work. Thank you Is there a way that I can turn off the music? I am very slow at learning a language and have to concentrate really hard.
In your opinion or experience have you noticed if they have different milk options? (almond, soy, etc...)? I am lactose intolerant and will be traveling to Italy in December. I love coffee TT^TT I guess my options would be a regular coffee or an American if there are no alternatives but I thought I would ask regardless.
In the last years the attention to who is lactose intolerant or just wants an alternative to the milk has increased. While in the past the regular milk was the only option available at café, nowadays almost every café, restaurant, etc.has at least one alternative with an alternative beverage. The most common option is soy, but you can sometimes also find almond and oat (note the legally in Italy we are, in theory, required not to call them soy milk, alternative milk, but alternative beverage or alternative to the milk). In some case you can also find lactose-free milk as a option.
When I went to Italy for the first time I asked for an espresso in a bar and they didn’t understand me. My friend had to explain you just ask for a coffee (caffe) 😊
I love cappuccino and latte macchiato! Btw, is it true that you can't buy the cappuccino after 12:00pm in Italy? I heard that it's culturally wrong because it's a morning drink. I'm going to Italy in a few months, and I was wondering if it really would be awkward to order one after a meal, e.g. after lunch or dinner. As I said, I LOVE cappuccino! :)
Bella Katie di dove sei? Are you from England? You do not have an accent that we can say your background! This an excellent video lesson. Congratulations!
It really helps that Kate is from England. The English subtitles are, unsurprisingly, on a different level. For Kate though I suspect it's not where she's from but where she is that's important. Her love of all things Italian is plain to see.
I don't drink caffe`, I mostly drink tea, but I'm learning to make different kinds of caffe e il caffellatte e la tisana so I can some day open una bar. (Forgive me for my mix/mash of languages 😬)
