@@NauticalStudy Yeah, it is still stuck on 360p on our end. Maybe try uploading a second copy as an unlisted video. If that works you could just pop a link to it in the description.
This channel is so underrated. Please please do more deep dives. I love you're video and you make them very entertaining and not dry. You're also hilarious. Thanks for the great content!
It’s interesting to note that the Mauretania’s scrapping was heavily scrutinised by the public. I wished that, like the SS United States or Queen Mary, we could’ve kept this relic around for subsequent generations to witness.
I am so glad the algorithm threw this video at me. This was so much fun! Very well done mate, thank you for your work. Subscribed, so please keep ‘um coming!
You have the funniest ocean liner channel on YT... I don't wanna see my 1907 face covered in smoker lines 😩 at least the carpet is Red (Taylor's Version)
For someone who doesn't know anything about ships these videos are like watching something in a foreign language. But I'm extremely intrigued and determined to understand at least some of this stuff.
Hello, I've just discovered your channel and am very happy I did! Thanks for the research, the little funny pix or drawings, and especially your delivery. You have just the right, pleasant and humorous comments and are teaching us about ships, as well! Whoopee! If school had been that much fun when I was a kid, back in the Pleistocene Era, I would've had a perfect report card all the time! I hope you have more videos like this, I look forward to seeing more of them. Many hearty good wishes to you and the viewers!
At 31,938 GRT, Mauretania was the world’s largest ship in gross tonnage when she entered service. However in terms of net tonnage (commercially usable space), Mauretania came in at only 12,797 NRT, falling short of White Star’s Adriatic, which came in at 15,638 NRT, despite being only 24,541 GRT.
Amazing video! I have a idea for a ship you can talk about: SS Rotterdam! I know it is a bit out of your range sindse you have only talked about the Cunarders and the White Star Liners but it would be cool (maybe include th SS Nieuw Amsterdam too) keep up the Amazing work!
Cunard named all their ships ending in "ia", White Star ships all had "ic" at the end of their name, other lines had similar naming traditions, so the name alone indicated which company owned a ship. That tradition continues today with lines like Royal Caribbean having the suffix "of the seas" for all their ships.
From November 1907 to December 1914, Mauretania made 191 crossings and carried a total of 247,971 passengers, for an average of 1,298 passengers per crossing. She was the most popular ship on the Atlantic in the years of 1910, 1912 and 1913. Her best year was 1913, when she carried 44,245 passengers over 30 crossings, averaging 1,475 passengers per crossing. From 1920 to 1929, Mauretania carried another 160,499 passengers over a further 200 crossings, averaging 802 passengers per crossing. She was transferred from the Liverpool-Queenstown-New York service to the Southampton-Cherbourg-New York service along with Aquitania and Imperator/Berengaria sometime in 1920.
Ironically, my mother's "middle name" was that of HMS "Mauretania". By the way, the country of that name, Mauretania, is NOT an island; it is part of the African mainland.
I wonder if he will do a video for the anniversary of the titanic sinking but I love these videos funny and entertaining best way to educate people of these ships
Omgosh. The 360p quality is making me shoot myself xddddddd. I had hard time reading some of the little lines you included. The editing style is hilarious and I can't stop laughing. 😂😂😂
Woah, a 20 minute long video, all I can say is great job! Your videos are almost as, if not more enjoyable than Mike Brady's Oceanliner Designs videos. Your videos' main strength is the humour as always, it sets it apart from all the other ship nerd channels in a good way. However, I don't remember Mauretania having any of those things at 11:44 though, where were each of them?
Royal navy requisitioning the ships the funded so they could be used as war ships:❌ Requisitioning 2 other ocean liners sinking one of them in the process:✅
Great video, but the RMS Oceanic 1899 never held the blue ribband. She was the largest ship afloat but never was the fastest. The Germans held it for over a decade before the Lusitania, and Mauri would take it back.
Hey there! I'm not sure why the max quality is 360p but I'm working on it
Any idea when it may be fixed?
@@jack4561 It said that as it uploads it should be fixed but that just isn't happening evidently

One question though? Why do you always give England (the country) so much negativity.
@Pleb No need to jump to conclusions. I’m sure it’s all just a joke but I just want to know for sure.
When the world needed him the most, he came back

@@zyancuerdo1615didn’t he admit to being a huge fan of the mauretania?
My Grandfather was radio officer on the Mauretania (among other ships) so it has a special place in my heart
This was a very well detailed video on the Mauretania with plenty of jokes slipped in, well done
Impressive, very nice. Now let's see Paul Allen's ocean liner.
So happy you are back, And i love your videos about the nautical world.
The jokes you slip in always catch me by surprise, great video as always! Always a treat to see you've uploaded :)
After hearing that Charles Parson did a little trolling at the naval review, I can say that he is one of the most based men of all time
Legend has it,when we all have a bad time,he comes back
the content is so good i didnt realize i was watching in 360p
I love this channel. Learning so much about ships as well as the deapan, sarcastic humor
We gotta get an Aquitania video man, love your stuff, I just found the channel a couple weeks ago :)

Lusitania and Mauretania also had different rail lengths at the bow
Now, the beginning was really good. Worth the wait!
Imagine if we lived in a just and fair world were Mauritania, Olympic and Aquitania were well-preserved and world class hotels.

Was the Mauritius an actual ship?
Ok
