Genesis 35:1-15: Know Your Identity

Our story starts with Jacob at Shechem with God wanting to reaffirm Jacob’s identity, both for his benefit and his family. Shechem has a long historical connection with the founders of the faith, Abraham, Jacob, Joseph, Joshua through Moses, and most importantly, Jesus.
Shechem is a place often associated with the revelation of the identity of God’s people. After coming to faith in Jesus for salvation, few things are more important to the believer than knowing our identity in Christ.
