    I´m in an Electrical Engineering Internship right now, and I was making these mistakes last week. I got frustraded with the job. But this week will be different, I´m gonna take advantage of the company as much as I can 👌

    Applied to one local internship and got an offer today for $20 an hour in my first semester of community college without any prior engineering experience, they were definitely happy to find people that are in their first year as most people don't apply in their first year.

      That's cool. I always thought they wanted at least Junior standing people, but I guess not always.

    Thank you for making these videos!
    To me getting internship is hard. At the first year of my studies I didn't get and at the second year I still didn't get it. And now is my third year trying to get internship. Writing a resumer is hard. My grades are okay but I still feel like I dont know anything and I don't have work experience at all.

    Hey Eggs I just started my first engineering internship at age 30 and I have some years of experience in the industry just not as an engineer. My first few weeks have been a struggle as I haven't really been giving any direction for what to do. What is the best route to make use of my time effectively? Mind you I have a full time job so I am currently doing 60 hours weeks over the course of 4 days. Exhausted isn't even the word right now.

    Your advices are gold! I did exactly the same things and I earned myself an full time offer with that company, only with 1 internship.
    There is only one thing I want to add. Accept any entry level position! Don't turn it down because it is not something you want to do. My position is EH&S. I almost turned it down because I thought EH&S roles are not engineering.

    The focus away from technical work since 2000, is the very reason your life expectancy isn't extrapolated 150 years, given the speed world was progressing in 50s trough 90s

    Wasn't successful in getting an internship. Mainly because of being a foreign student. Now in my OPT year, it is difficult finding a job because I did not have any internship. Is finding internships after graduation very difficult?

    • @EggsEngineering
      @EggsEngineering  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello, yes unfortunately finding a job after graduation is also pretty hard. Please check out the other video I made focusing on this topic. I find that graduate school (PhD) and start up companies are easier to get into as a foreign student. Most large companies don't want to do the paperwork for a sponsored Visa, which I think is pretty sad, but that is the system in the US right now.. this is especially hard for internships because you are only there for a few months. Because of this, I knew a brilliant foreign student who had to volunteer for a research internship at a major company, she then found a job at a start up after graduation. You have a much larger hill to climb, but once you get to the top you'll have the strongest legs in the game, and people recognize that.

      You’re chemical engineering curriculum should cover everything but some specific courses I found to be most helpful have been thermodynamics, heat and mass transfer and plant design
