    thank a lot, you gave more hope than i expected, i thing that i like a lot is that you always says that it depends on what is what you like and a personal interest, not like other channels that says that their majors are the best and the other ones suck. THANKS A LOT :)

      I'm really happy to hear that, thank you! Yeah careers are very personal, it's not one size fits all.

    This video was so awesome! This channel is exactly what I've been looking for. I've a quick question though. What's your opinion on personal projects? For example, if I started a small business producing soap or candles (on a small scale of course), would that be beneficial to put on a resume? That being said, even if it's not that important, I would probably still do it because I love making things on my own. Thanks a million!

      Hi, I think that would be a fantastic idea! Could look really great on a resume, especially if you can apply some engineering concepts. Also engineering jobs can be really business and marketing focused, so showing that you can start and grow a business would be really impressive to any employer.

    Lol totally appreciated the ‘Ted Talk’ I felt soo much pressure to do comp sci, but I’m glad I didn’t do it. I would’ve hated it.

    Also computer science is way more saturated than every engineering degree. For now demand is still higher than supply but considering how many students choose this field i don't know if this will be the case in the future.
    Something similar happened to chemical engineers here in Italy. In the 90s everyone wanted to be a ChemE, then the sector became saturated and many people switched to computer/electronic engineering. Now many chemical engineers are retiring and the demand for the job is increasing, so for now chemical engineers can earn 20-30% more than computer scientists or computer engineers (italy)

    My question is ,
    What should we know before applying to internships?

    • @EggsEngineering
      @EggsEngineering  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question, I made a video about how to find an internship so check that out. In general, there's nothing in particular you need to know before you start applying. The only requirement is to be a student. I would suggest that you start looking for an internship as soon as you can. Don't feel like you need any prior knowledge, most internship programs will train you up.

    I advise students to do at least one activity outside of the technical realm. I was in the Parachute Club. I would get a lot of remarks in interviews, and it broke the tension. I have interviewed students who were on the synchronized ice skating team, spent a month hiking the Appalachian Trail, worked on a real Montana ranch even though he was a midwestern suburban kid, competed in an investment club, provided respite care for a severely mentally handicapped boy so that the mom could have the day to herself. These things didn't equate into them being any more qualified, but they can be conversation starters.

    Hello, I am a person with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. I am really confused whether I should pursue a master's degree and what program should I go for? Hope to hear from you soon. Thank you.

    Heyy, love your videos
    My uni only has chemistry in undergrad, is it viable to get an MS in CE, and would it allow me to work as a chemical engineer? I have the option of minoring in math (pure or applied) or mechanical engineering as well
    Edit: There’s also the option of doing mechanical for my BS and then an MS in chemical

    Hi Eggs, I've been pondering on majoring between mechanical or chemical engineering. A lot of videos on TH-cam says how the chemical engineering field is over saturated. Would you agree with that statemate or nah? Thanks a lot for this video :D

    I have just started chemical engineering.. i just found that most of courses of CHE and Mechanical engineering are the same .. (talking about my area... )Is persuing chemical engineering a good choice or switching to mechanical engineering..

    Hie ...l finished my A level this year and lm having a challenge is choosing a degree to major in .My colleagues suggest that chemical engineering is a general degree and l should do more of a specialised degree e.g metallurgy or mining Eng or some other and that way l will have a greater probabilityof getting a job over a chemical engineer...what do you suggest

    Do u do hand calculations in the real world? Like heat and material balances, hx sizing, system curves in fluid systems, etc

    • @EggsEngineering
      @EggsEngineering  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Probably only back of the envelope stuff. It's good to know how to do that, but doing by hand is a waste of time. the company you work for would rather you just use a calculator that somebody else probably designed. You might have to do some of these things for your job, but it won't be without a computer and a bunch of other tools to make the job happen faster.

    If one is considering going into R&D in Chemical engineering, is a Masters and/or PhD nessecary?

    • @EggsEngineering
      @EggsEngineering  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It depends on the industry and company. BS and MS chemical engineers do work in R&D, but mostly play a supporting role to the engineer with a PhD. If you really like R&D and want to be a primary investigator (PI)/ Leader, then you will probably need a PHD. BS and MS engineers can get to a leading role like this but it will probably take a lot more than the 4 years it takes for a PHD.

    any suggestion for 3rd yr chemical engineering's laptop specs? What to look for in a laptop for ChE students

    • @EggsEngineering
      @EggsEngineering  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Any current PC should do. Most ChemE programs you work on for school won't be that taxing. I normally recommend at least last year's Intel i3 and 8gb Ram.
