I did 6 weeks of chemo/radiation, low anterior resection, had to wear a temporary ileostomy for 7 weeks and just had the reversal surgery 2 weeks ago. Good news they changed my diagnosis from stage 2 T3 to stage 1 T2. Clear margins, no lymph nodes involved. I’m lucky to have my life. Surgeries were hard, radiation was the hardest. I still have damage from radiation. I have no family history of colon cancer but my mom has crohns and my sisters have colitis. My Oncologist said rectal bleeding of any kind is never normal. My heart goes out to people diagnosed with late stage. I share your tears.

Apparently, you can see yours so it's not occult but if it's IN your stool as opposed to a few drops or streaks ON the surface of your stool, it's a different story. Another factor has to do with whether this is a constant condition or a "now you see it, now you don't.", episodic symptom. The latter is called intermittent scant hematochezia and will spontaneously resolve around 85% of the time. This could be caused by many "benign" pathologies--internal hemorrhoids, anal fissures, diverticulosis, irritable bowel symptom, and even anal sex. The most important thing you can do is remember that almost 95% of the time blood in the presence of stool has a benign cause. You can go to your doc and he'll more than likely refer you to a gastroenterologist. The odds are you'll have a test for Occult fecal blood (not observable to the human eye.). Also, you'll almost certainly be told to get a colonoscopy. If the blood you're seeing is a bright red, there's a high probability it is originating in the descending colon on the left side. The research shows that the fecal test and a flexible sigmoidoscope can identify any 97% of any potential colorectal cancers. If the sigmoidoscope doesn't expose the source of the bleeding, you can always follow up with the colonoscopy. But, for the moment, try to remember that while there's always a chance blood apparent ON stool could bring a frightening diagnosis, it almost always doesn't. Think of it this way, while most patients with colorectal cancer presented with bloody stool, the great majority of patients who present with that symptom don't have cancer. It's like sex. Every human being is alive because two people had sex (except in the case of artificial insemination), but the result of two people having sex, even without contraceptives, isn't a baby. Stay calm.

Blood on the outside of your poop can also just be hemmorhoids so don't let this scare you too much! Still, go get a colonoscopy. The prep is a pain in the neck but the procedure itself is a breeze!
This often really means that you wiped too hard or pushed too hard that you created a small cut. Nothing to worry about. Sometimes it hurts sometimes it doesn’t. Just depends how many cuts and how big they are.

In my case I have been passing reddish brown diarrhoea stools (like a mahogany or rosewood colour) . These are bloody stools but NOT from any form of cancer. I have been diagnosed with a stool culture that I have been suffering from a severe case of Campylobacteriosis or from Campylobacter Jejuni. So not all blood in stool is caused by cancer.

Had two colonoscopies done already before 25 years of age because I bled a lot. But luckily it’s due to fissures and not cancerous. I do have to monitor what I eat and go to the doctors here and there. It’s still a pain to this day because I would be eating heathy and I would get pain and when I eat unhealthy, I don’t. But it changes from time to time. I just have to learn to deal with this issue and not let it affect my mentality too much.
How was your colonoscopy experience ? I noticed blood about eight months ago and my GI gave me the option to get a colonoscopy. I’ve been hesitant on getting it done because I don’t know what to expect And truthfully I’m scared.The rectal bleeding comes and goes there’s times that I’ll be fine and I don’t have any abdominal discomfort and there’s times where I feel it.
@@janicemorales2754 I still bleed from time time. Honestly, the second colonoscopy was worse than the second in the form of over contemplation that something was truly wrong with me. The first one, I was of course scared but the doctors made me feel comfortable and joked with me which made me feel safe in a unnerving procedure. I would say get it down. Because it will give you more of a piece of mind. To be honest, the most horrible thing about the whole situation was drinking that solution. It was awful but I trucked through it. I hope yours gets better.

I've been bleeding for more than two weeks.. i don't know what the poop is happening to me. I'm gonna try drinking enough water 'cuz i honestly don't, and i also don't eat much I'm busy studying so i skip a lot of meals. Anyways I'm gonna update my situation after drinking much water.. if i didn't, i may be dead. Update after one week of drinking enough water and eating regularly: First, Happy that I'm still alive. Second, seems like i was right.. i don't bleed anymore and my poop isn't hard anymore. You guys have to drink enough water and eat healthy, i was eating only one meal per day and rarely drink water (i drunk one cup in two/three days).. now everything is alright. Make sure you guys follow healthy habits and visit a doctor as soon as possible (even tho i didn't, which i know is wrong that i didn't lol)

If u could visit a doctor just go ahead.. otherwise try to understand the reason why this is happening to you.. (in my case I doubt it should be because of my food system and i tried fixing it. thus, it woks on me). but still it's highly recommended to go visit a doctor if this lasts for too long. Just please don't be scared, most videos and articles in internet explain the situation to be more likely as a colonial cancer.. which is not always the case. Internet is actually scaring me 😂😂😂😂 whenever i check something wrong with my body they tell me i may have Cancer lol.

I'm only 19 and it's been like this for 2 months. There's not much blood in the toilet, but when I wipe that's mostly what it is. My dad got through colon cancer a few years ago so I'm prone to it (actually prone to all kinds of cancer, since we found out he has spine cancer just a few weeks ago)
i have bloody stool from past 2 years. The blood falls like big blood droplets and it looks fresh, without the pain. I told my parents when it first happened, they said that it happened because i'm eating a lot of spicy things. I want to say again but I'm so ashamed

I had the same bleeding episodes, turns out to be hemorrhoids. Changed my diet, changed my job. Got Laser Ablation for Hemorrhoids, twice. Now regular, poop every morning.
i had severe constipation before and it caused a rectal bleeding. i went to the doctor and yeah it was nothing but just from the rectal pain. but since the last 2 weeks after the pain on my rectal is gone. i always had blood whenever i poop but my rectum is not hurt at all. i’m so scared now. my late grandma had colon cancer and she didn’t survive it. and i even was suspected with leukaemia a few years back.

No you dont have cancer if it happen to you couple year ago then not after.. It mean you take care now what you eating You must have eaten not good food during that time.
I see a lot of people here are worried, I’ll just try to calm those people down. So, if there’s blood when you’re wiping, if it’s light red in colour, (which it usually is) that means it’s either coming from your bumhole or the lower part of your colon. This is usually not a reason for concern, as recent stomach troubles (aka taking a big poo after constipation, pooing frequently) or hemorrhoids can easily cause this. If you’ve had any of the above recently, don’t worry. Also, if some of your poo in the toilet is slightly covered with blood of the same colour as the one mentioned above, it’s mostly the same thing. You shouldn’t be too worried. On the other hand, if you notice very dark red blood in your poo, or if your poo is tarry black, that could mean you’re bleeding somewhere further up in your digestive system, such as way further up in your colon, your small intestine, and even your stomach. I’d recommend consulting a doctor for that.
Silence Sound generally mucous is not a big reason for concern as we all have mucous in our bodies and occasionally it’ll come out, and we all have small amounts mucous in our stools, but if you’re noticing more mucous in your stools just now (typically we won’t really notice it because typically it’s a very small amount and it is often clear) and have never before you may want to go to the doctor to see if you have a bacterial infection. Especially if you’ve seen mucous in your stool more than once very recently. But only once is not a big reason for concern. And if you have toilet issues often the mucous may be a symptom of Crohn’s disease. Seeing as there is no blood (hopefully no pain either) and you’re relatively young, if this has only happened once recently you should just monitor yourself for about a week or two if you’re worried to see if the amounts of mucous increase, or if the colour changes to yellow. If the amounts gradually increase you should see a doctor, who will most likely look for a infection. Over to milder more common stuff, if you’ve had a cold or the flu recently excess mucous may appear in your intestines for a short period of time, dehydration may also cause this and if you’ve been constipated recently this could also be the cause.

If this is happening to you!! Don’t worry , it’s not that serious and also the problem that causes this: It’s beacuse we haven’t drink water for alotta days.. (It’s confirmed that this is the reason if your poop comes out with a piece of blood) , If it comes out with so much blood then it’s technically a problem.

starlite 77 hi I had a rectal fissure thankfully. Some movicol every night more fibre and more fruit in my diet fixed that up. Being examined by my g.p was uncomfortable but please if you are experiencing rectal discomfort or any bleeding etc please go see a doctor it’s uncomfortable and annoying but I feel so much more better. Plus an examination only takes like 5 seconds

Im 18 years old and have had blood after wiping ever since I was 13... I never had it during a poo and small amounts of almost dry blood after wiping. I don't think its cancer because im only 18 and its quite rare to get it that young and I've had it so long I think I would know by now. My diet is awful, I went to the doctor when I was 14 and they said it was likely my diet. I have also had it stop happening for a few months then return. I have no clue what it is but its been scaring me since it started even tho I have more symptoms that are similar to IBS or hemmeroids. Also my Dad has had a lot of hemmeroids so it is something that kind of runs in the family. I just have a fear of the doctors, I am way too scared to go for anything. Even though I realise it could get me killed by not going for a serious warning sign of something, sometimes the possible procedures scare me more then death. Admittedly I also haven't changed my diet so nobody can really tell if it whats causing it, my diet is literally just pizza, curry, chicken, burgers and chips. In some ways im asking for something to go wrong and I definitely need help changing my diet.
I wouldn't worry at ur age its not unheard of but it could happen if ur genetics are tailored towards predilection.. I am 30 and have no blood but other symptom I think I have it just gotta push doctors to help me.. just keep poop watch as sick as it sounds could save our lives good luck 👍
@@okay8132 it’s been 2 more years and I’m still alive. My friend who is 23 has had blood the bowl, something I haven’t had before so I wouldn’t worry too much. Over the years I actually get it less and less often. I usually only see it once every 4 -5 months when I used to see it almost all the time. It’s something I had on and off for about 6 years now so it’s something I just deal with, most likely it’s piles if I had to guess or just my diet still tho recently i made an effort to begin fixing it.

I had small wipes of blood for a few months but recently I’ve had diarrhea nonstop. This was because of increase onion consumption (low tolerance for fructan found). However today I had massive blood from my bowel similar to period loads. It scared me and after researching and talking with adults we stumbled upon something else. I have hemorrhoids - outside skin growth on anus - I never mentioned it to adults cause it was embarrassing especially as a teen but reading these comments I’ll be content not to have colon cancer. Will be going to the doctors. I wish I found this out sooner.
@@everyneed3959 Sorry for the late reply i just got this notification. We did some stool, blood, and scans; everything turned out fine showing nothing for cancer. But it did show some sort of stones meaning I need a CT scan. I hadn’t had blood for a few weeks but yesterday I bled a lot (I also tested positive for Covid). As for the hemorrhoids I use ointment and a special salt.
I don't have this problem and I don't know why i clicked.

In my case I have been passing reddish brown diarrhoea stools (like a mahogany or rosewood colour) . These are bloody stools but NOT from any form of cancer. I have been diagnosed with a stool culture that I have been suffering from a severe case of Campylobacteriosis or from Campylobacter Jejuni. So not all blood in stool is caused by cancer.

Had two colonoscopies done already before 25 years of age because I bled a lot. But luckily it’s due to fissures and not cancerous. I do have to monitor what I eat and go to the doctors here and there. It’s still a pain to this day because I would be eating heathy and I would get pain and when I eat unhealthy, I don’t. But it changes from time to time. I just have to learn to deal with this issue and not let it affect my mentality too much.
How was your colonoscopy experience ? I noticed blood about eight months ago and my GI gave me the option to get a colonoscopy. I’ve been hesitant on getting it done because I don’t know what to expect And truthfully I’m scared.The rectal bleeding comes and goes there’s times that I’ll be fine and I don’t have any abdominal discomfort and there’s times where I feel it.
@@janicemorales2754 I still bleed from time time. Honestly, the second colonoscopy was worse than the second in the form of over contemplation that something was truly wrong with me. The first one, I was of course scared but the doctors made me feel comfortable and joked with me which made me feel safe in a unnerving procedure. I would say get it down. Because it will give you more of a piece of mind. To be honest, the most horrible thing about the whole situation was drinking that solution. It was awful but I trucked through it. I hope yours gets better.

Update after one week of drinking enough water and eating regularly:
First, Happy that I'm still alive. Second, seems like i was right.. i don't bleed anymore and my poop isn't hard anymore. You guys have to drink enough water and eat healthy, i was eating only one meal per day and rarely drink water (i drunk one cup in two/three days).. now everything is alright. Make sure you guys follow healthy habits and visit a doctor as soon as possible (even tho i didn't, which i know is wrong that i didn't lol)

If u could visit a doctor just go ahead.. otherwise try to understand the reason why this is happening to you.. (in my case I doubt it should be because of my food system and i tried fixing it. thus, it woks on me). but still it's highly recommended to go visit a doctor if this lasts for too long.
Just please don't be scared, most videos and articles in internet explain the situation to be more likely as a colonial cancer.. which is not always the case. Internet is actually scaring me 😂😂😂😂 whenever i check something wrong with my body they tell me i may have Cancer lol.

I had the same bleeding episodes, turns out to be hemorrhoids. Changed my diet, changed my job. Got Laser Ablation for Hemorrhoids, twice. Now regular, poop every morning.
i had severe constipation before and it caused a rectal bleeding. i went to the doctor and yeah it was nothing but just from the rectal pain. but since the last 2 weeks after the pain on my rectal is gone. i always had blood whenever i poop but my rectum is not hurt at all. i’m so scared now. my late grandma had colon cancer and she didn’t survive it. and i even was suspected with leukaemia a few years back.

I see a lot of people here are worried, I’ll just try to calm those people down. So, if there’s blood when you’re wiping, if it’s light red in colour, (which it usually is) that means it’s either coming from your bumhole or the lower part of your colon. This is usually not a reason for concern, as recent stomach troubles (aka taking a big poo after constipation, pooing frequently) or hemorrhoids can easily cause this. If you’ve had any of the above recently, don’t worry. Also, if some of your poo in the toilet is slightly covered with blood of the same colour as the one mentioned above, it’s mostly the same thing. You shouldn’t be too worried. On the other hand, if you notice very dark red blood in your poo, or if your poo is tarry black, that could mean you’re bleeding somewhere further up in your digestive system, such as way further up in your colon, your small intestine, and even your stomach. I’d recommend consulting a doctor for that.

Silence Sound generally mucous is not a big reason for concern as we all have mucous in our bodies and occasionally it’ll come out, and we all have small amounts mucous in our stools, but if you’re noticing more mucous in your stools just now (typically we won’t really notice it because typically it’s a very small amount and it is often clear) and have never before you may want to go to the doctor to see if you have a bacterial infection. Especially if you’ve seen mucous in your stool more than once very recently. But only once is not a big reason for concern. And if you have toilet issues often the mucous may be a symptom of Crohn’s disease.
Seeing as there is no blood (hopefully no pain either) and you’re relatively young, if this has only happened once recently you should just monitor yourself for about a week or two if you’re worried to see if the amounts of mucous increase, or if the colour changes to yellow. If the amounts gradually increase you should see a doctor, who will most likely look for a infection. Over to milder more common stuff, if you’ve had a cold or the flu recently excess mucous may appear in your intestines for a short period of time, dehydration may also cause this and if you’ve been constipated recently this could also be the cause.

Don’t worry , it’s not that serious and also the problem that causes this: It’s beacuse we haven’t drink water for alotta days.. (It’s confirmed that this is the reason if your poop comes out with a piece of blood) , If it comes out with so much blood then it’s technically a problem.

starlite 77 hi I had a rectal fissure thankfully. Some movicol every night more fibre and more fruit in my diet fixed that up. Being examined by my g.p was uncomfortable but please if you are experiencing rectal discomfort or any bleeding etc please go see a doctor it’s uncomfortable and annoying but I feel so much more better. Plus an examination only takes like 5 seconds

Im 18 years old and have had blood after wiping ever since I was 13... I never had it during a poo and small amounts of almost dry blood after wiping. I don't think its cancer because im only 18 and its quite rare to get it that young and I've had it so long I think I would know by now. My diet is awful, I went to the doctor when I was 14 and they said it was likely my diet. I have also had it stop happening for a few months then return. I have no clue what it is but its been scaring me since it started even tho I have more symptoms that are similar to IBS or hemmeroids. Also my Dad has had a lot of hemmeroids so it is something that kind of runs in the family. I just have a fear of the doctors, I am way too scared to go for anything. Even though I realise it could get me killed by not going for a serious warning sign of something, sometimes the possible procedures scare me more then death. Admittedly I also haven't changed my diet so nobody can really tell if it whats causing it, my diet is literally just pizza, curry, chicken, burgers and chips. In some ways im asking for something to go wrong and I definitely need help changing my diet.
I wouldn't worry at ur age its not unheard of but it could happen if ur genetics are tailored towards predilection.. I am 30 and have no blood but other symptom I think I have it just gotta push doctors to help me.. just keep poop watch as sick as it sounds could save our lives good luck 👍

@@okay8132 it’s been 2 more years and I’m still alive. My friend who is 23 has had blood the bowl, something I haven’t had before so I wouldn’t worry too much. Over the years I actually get it less and less often. I usually only see it once every 4 -5 months when I used to see it almost all the time. It’s something I had on and off for about 6 years now so it’s something I just deal with, most likely it’s piles if I had to guess or just my diet still tho recently i made an effort to begin fixing it.

I had small wipes of blood for a few months but recently I’ve had diarrhea nonstop. This was because of increase onion consumption (low tolerance for fructan found). However today I had massive blood from my bowel similar to period loads. It scared me and after researching and talking with adults we stumbled upon something else. I have hemorrhoids - outside skin growth on anus - I never mentioned it to adults cause it was embarrassing especially as a teen but reading these comments I’ll be content not to have colon cancer. Will be going to the doctors. I wish I found this out sooner.

@@everyneed3959 Sorry for the late reply i just got this notification. We did some stool, blood, and scans; everything turned out fine showing nothing for cancer. But it did show some sort of stones meaning I need a CT scan. I hadn’t had blood for a few weeks but yesterday I bled a lot (I also tested positive for Covid). As for the hemorrhoids I use ointment and a special salt.
