@@xKingReyx I'm sure Frankenstein was up to some pervy shit with those zombies, it's alluded to in a few subtle moments and ending with the open mouthed head of Johnson
It's 7.24.24, and I just turned 54. George Romero's ghoul/zombie trilogy is still up there in my top 10. Escape From New York, TRON, Paper Moon, and 2001 are films I will never outgrow.
In my early 30s. Even I have noticed that the spirit of all things seems to have fallen off; there are no films today that carry the same dread, the same air of constant concern and adult fear present in the Dead series. Paranoia and hysteria when the dead begin to rise in the Night; the initial wildlands excitement of Dawn as the outbreak begins to spread; the alienation and isolation of Day when the malls have all closed...
Despite being assholes, Captain Rhodes and the soldiers were right about the project being a failure. It was never designed to succeed. They were thrown into a hole with radio equipment that was probably as old as the cold war, not a lot scientific materials to experiment with, and from the sounds of it, not a lot of food or ammo. They weren't even given any idea of any other bunkers or any safe zones there might be. I would think any important operation might set up something like specific dates to turn on their radios and call each other so they don't have to listen 24/7 and can save power and protocols to make them last as long as possible. The main character even says something along the lines of "there has to be others out there like us". They don't even know. This is how quickly the operation was thrown together. It might not even have been organized by someone near the top of the US federal government or military. If I were Rhodes, I'd immediately halt the project for the time being and focus on finding supplies as well as looking for cheaper and easier methods to destroy the zombies. The scientists could bitch as much as they please as far as I would be concerned.
"You want to put some kind of explanation down here before you leave? Here's one as good as any you're likely to find. We're bein' punished by the Creator. He visited a curse on us. So that man could look at... what Hell was like. Maybe He didn't want to see us blow ourselves up, put a big hole in the sky. Maybe He just wanted to show us He's still the Boss Man. Maybe He figure, we was gettin' too big for our britches, tryin' to figure His $#!t out."

Interesting choice for the Screensaver, but not sure if this works for the whole 'Day' theme. Why did you select the calendar Sarah was staring at in the beginning of the film? The soundscape is really good, though.
"Maybe if we tried working together we could ease some of the tensions. We’re all pulling in different directions."
"That's the trouble with the world, Sarah darlin'. People got different ideas concernin' what they want out of life."
Why go with the October calendar motif from Sara's dream?

Now here you come here you come Sarah with some chops and we are being punish by the creator….so he can let us know…of what hell looks like

The best Zombie movie soundtrack ever!!!!
I think Dawn of the Dead takes it but I wouldn't disagree either way. Super cool to see this soundtrack getting the credit it deserves
@@D_2387 Yeah, the whole trilogy is just unbeatable.
First dream scene : calendar photo on the wall ✌What a movie!
This soundtrack has always been personal fav of mine...this ambient version is really, really good

And, what gives this hypothetical creator the right to instil such barbaric cruelty onto us?
@@SamuelBlack84 1. it's a movie bro
2. If the creator did exist, as the quote states: it's not our job to figure that stuff out
@@D_2387 And, I don't care what a creator thinks fictional or otherwise
I thought it was a good line in the movie it really helps sell the whole end the world theme.
I love this!

This is awesome! Can you do something with Lucio Fulci’s Zombi theme song?
Woow thank you for this!
This is amazing. Great work. Great soundtrack. Great movie.

This is awesome, can you do one for Phantasm (1979)

Cause it represents the only calm moments in Sarah's journey in the film. The beginning and end.
We're living in her hellscape...pictures of peace is the escape.
I thought the calendar was a nice touch bc only people who really know the film would recognize it.
I've always liked the picture
Despite being just a pumpkin patch, it somehow gives off a strange sense of unease and desolation
