Ever since I've listened to this last part of the class trial and the part where shuichi visits her lab- I low-key sob everytime cause I am a Kaede kinnie- Also a fun fact about her execution,, it was actually hours long, that's why the clock was going so fast-
If only... Shuichi's ahoge was a little more sharper... maybe he would've seen that the trail didn't lead on top of Rantaros head. It was a bit off. Also the hit looked like it was more of a side hit not and over the top hit.
If you noticed- The piano music goes faster like how Kaede's heart beat would've gotten faster as she was stressing out so much. And in the anime Danganronpa V3 Future Arc it's proven executions can make people feel 'despair' and puts them in the mood to kill someone. People just have to watch an execution. That's how Ibuki Mioda and the rest of her classmates felt despair and started to kill other people. Junko Enoshima found out this method through Metorai and his attempt to make a truely touching anime. Enoshima used this to make 'Monokuma's gloomy Sunday" that is used to make people suicide. Maybe Rantaro was shown this by the mastermind (the blue haired chic, the ultimate cosplayer) and then Rantaro killed himself because no one was there to stop him. And in Danganronpa V3 Future Arc, Makoto was stoped in the process of killing himself by one of the people there. The suicides are made to look like someone murdered them to confuse Monokuma's game players. And the camera's could've been missing the photos of Rantaro killing himself and the ultimate cosplayer showing him the video. And Rantaro was LOOKING head on at a SCREEN moments BEFORE his death. Making it extremely likely Monokuma's Gloomy Sunday was shown to Rantaro. And since no one figured out it was a suicide, Kaede made herself an option to be 'The blackend'. Therefore making Rantaro's death a suicide. No one murdered anyone in the first trial. Monokuma playes them all. And Monokuma speads up the trial if too many options are given out and makes everyone choose one person in a hurry and panic. Rantaro suicided. Kaede Akamatsu was innocent. Everyone was.
Fun Fact: Kaede didn’t actually commit the murder. It’s not confirmed WHO did, but she didn’t, because every time someone isn’t the blackened, a certain song plays, it’s the exact song that plays in kaedes intro, NOT the piano, but the other beats and such, it was played right before the spikes went down on her. This audio is only used for when a person IS not the blackened, however they still continue from there like kaede WAS the blackened. In which, monokuma lied, because Kaede was the closest to finding out the mystery about the mastermind, as such he pretended that she was the blackened. *Thanks for coming to my TED talk to prove Kaede ain’t guilty*

I do think that may be a possibility, but here’s my short explanation of why that wouldn’t work: Didn’t Monokuma say if you got it wrong, EVERYONE would be punished? However, that could be wrong, because this was the first execution, Monokuma can’t afford to lose a whole bunch of fresh students. Hmmm- People are saying Kaede was innocent because the song is also played with black notes, but she was only pressed on the white keys. Now, if you wanted to add logic to this reasoning, Kaede was being moved by two ropes, not four. Why four? Forward, back, left and right. Using four ropes would probably cause the forward rope to be in front, and the back to be in the back. There’s only vines and stuff there, so there goes that. Then again, the left and right ropes lay next to each-other, so, uh-
I can tell you definitely did not play the game because if you did you know that she was actually innocent and the real person who murdered Rentaro was tsumgi and also the reason why they didn’t get executed for voting the wrong person was because it was a part of the script for kaede to get accused.

I think Kaede meant that Kaede thought that she successfully killed Rantaro, but because she didn't and the shot missed, the mastermind had to do it themselves. As she thought she killed Rantaro, she wanted to admit it and let Shuichi figure it out so that nobody else had to die from her failed plan and be wrongfully executed. Except Kaede was infact innocent and was just made to look like Kaede had killed Rantaro instead of the mastermind.

this was 4 yrs ago but, we really wanted to have a female lead and maybe a male lead, instead we have our female lead KILLED in the very first trial and we have tsumugi. (im not too upset abt tsumugi tho)
