- The CBR I bought isn't really running great when your put the throttle on o first port of call is strip the carbs, clean and rebuild with a few kits off of Wemoto. If this doesn't do it the fuel pump is the next candidate.
Any queries or questions email me at misfire.motorcycles@gmail.com
Above all else please remember I am an idiot, I just happen to get it right occasionally. This is not a how to its just me pottering about in my garage trying to keep my bikes running without paying for proper mechanics. Please do not take anything I do as a tutorial! Learn how to do things properly!
If you like what you see - I'll be surprised to be fair - and want to see me screw more stuff up in the future then like and subscribe.

hey whats that 3rd brass nub that sticks out by the jets? In the process of cleaning a completely blocked set of carbs on an f3 project i just picked up and couldnt figure out if those come out or even need cleaned. i realize now watching this i didnt clean under the idle screws and i think you just helped me figure out why it wont start, you legend
Happy to help. I don't think that part came out or if it did I didn't find out why. Hope it starts!
I wonder how to clean the filter connected to solenoid valve?
I would.imagine it's more of a replacement rather than clean but.tonbe honest I never looked into it
Did you not use gaskets for the float bowls?
I did, used brand new ones
Do you know which main jet goes in outer or inner ? I have 2 140s and 2 138s mains and can't figure out which one they need to bee in
I think it the larger ones on the inner cylinders - I was told this was to make them a bit richer and run slightly cooler as a result but I wouldn't bet the farm on that.
Do any of the jets in the carb need to be set to a certain position? It looked like you had just set them until they were snug
I just refitted them the snug like I always do. The only one that needs a certain amount of turns is the mixture screw
@@misfirems ok thanks and the mixture screw is the one outside the bowl right?
@@cameronhochachka2305 yep that’s the one
@@misfirems thanks so much man I subscribed you wouldn’t happen to know how many turns out it is by any chance I’m assuming it’s in the manual somewhere?
@@cameronhochachka2305 it’s in the manual cause it’s different depending on where you are and what jets are fitted. Mine were 2 1/2 turns out but I think it’s a bit rich
Great vid! mine has leaking float covers, priced up the shaped O ring type seals from Honda and they are crazy money so I wondered if you rate the bowl seals in these cheap kits? they are less than the cost of one Honda oem seal!
Just don’t get the eBay kits. I got the decent ones from wemoto and they worked really well
@@misfirems Many thanks, wasn't aware of Wemoto for parts.
@@wonkylommiter6364 wemoto are good for bits mate. Decent quality if you’re not buying oem from a dealer
