I do love H lacunosa. For me they are good, steady growers, and it's easy to get carried away with them. Mona from PlantTherapy added a few more to my collection, so including the H krohniana there are now around twenty. Thanks for watching and adding your comment.
Thanks. I do. I think you can just see a bit of it in the lower left. I'm dog sitting for Monte this week (he makes a brief cameo early on) and it's one of his favorite places to nap, too. Thanks for watching and adding your comments.
The lacunosa bloom is quite potent. Heavy perfume smell. I cannot grow the Exotic Angel lacunosas. They grow four actually: royal flush, snow caps, ruby sue, and all green. They are instant death plants. So I'm impressed you are able to keep them alive.
I try to get the EA Hoyas - lacunosa and others - out of that "soil" right away; within a few days of bringing them home. It's fine for rooting, but it's not the best for growing. I lift the whole thing out of the pot and rinse off as much as possible and then replant them in a very airy mix. They pout for a bit, but they typically bounce back. Thanks for watching and adding your comment.
The longer leaf lacunosas are really lovely. Now I have to seek them out to add to my collection. I love the khroniana leaves too. Adam , knot dude, is amazing. I enjoy your chats. Take care😊
I know what you mean about the long leaf ones, but any additions to your wish list aren't my fault. Adam is amazing; funny, smart, good at growing, and a sense of humor I appreciate. Thanks for watching and adding your comment.
Beautiful plants! I am a hoya newbie. I had no idea there were so many varieties of lacunosa. Thank you for sharing. Now I am inspired to shop for some of those 😂💸💸
Thanks and welcome to the Hoya rabbit hole. I only have a small collection, there are many more varieties of lacunosa out there. Thanks for watching and adding your comment.
Yes, H lacunosa 'Laos' is a stunner. "The Conservatory" is probably my favorite room of the house, and once the warmer weather arrives, I spend as much time out there as possible. Thanks for watching and adding your comment.
I thoroughly enjoyed this video. I am a fan of the large leaf hoyas but was contemplating getting a lacunosa or two. Then I get a lacunosa silver as a gift with an order and now I know I want others. You have some I never heard of and they're beautiful! So now to add to my wish list! Thanks for sharing! Look forward to your next! Dee, L.I., NY
Dee - Thanks for your kind words. Be careful, lacunosas are really addictive. There are also some sellers who "make up" new varieties, so do your research before you spend your money. Any additions to your wish list are all on you, but enoy. Thanks for watching and adding your comment.
Welcome to Hoya Land. Be careful and deliberate in your purchases and do your research before your spend your dollars. You're going to have so much fun. Thanks for watching.
Many thanks for sharing your Lacunosa, they are all lovely! I will be looking for the Amarillo, the Poonsak - you gotta love that name - the Laos and the Royal Flush. You’re right about the Snow Caps requiring more light to get the silver/white specks. Mine came from Lowes and was over watered. I lost about one third of the plant but two years later she is fat, full and filled out. She gets the Sun from the East and it helps her keep her color. Happy growing to all of us! 👌🪴🥰
Thanks for sharing I love Hoyas and the few lacunosa I have are really fast growing and blooming, but I never knew they were so many lacunosa around now iam adding to my wish list❤
There are many more than just the few I have, and if you think Hoyas in general are addicting, lacunosas can be almost dangerous. I had to make myself stop. Thanks for watching and adding your comment.
After collecting all kinds of big leaf hoya, I got a bunch of different lacunosa last week. I think I got 20 something different types 😂. I love them and im hoping they root well. Love your vid 😊
I love lacunosa, there are so many different kinds and the flowers smell great, they seem to be a reliable grower and bloomer. I have several different kinds, but just bought the laos, have royal flush, silver, varigated, and a krohniana silver, bruno tricolor, and unknown seedling. They were grown last year by seed and already have peduncles.. There are sooo many. Love your sunroom for plants, perfect hoya conditions. Thanks for your video.
Love this! You’re right. aroid people step off my Hoyas! I’m in MA. I need to build my lac collection. If you’re interested in selling some happy to take a ride!
Howdy neighbor. I'll keep that in mind. I'll probably start selling cuttings through my Buy Me A Coffee page in the near future. Stay tuned for more information.
Thanks for asking. All of ine grow in pon-ish and a self-watering pot, but I think a good "airy" mix would work as well. In self-watering they have access to as much moisture as they would like. Mine are under grow lights (sometimes a bit too close) and get twelve hours a day. I also feed them with a hydroponic nutrient solution since they are in pon-ish. Thanks for watching and asking.
I was just musing that your lovely lacunosas are on the flat back hanging pots and are all one sided , like they are hanging on a grid rack ? But I know you said they are somehow on shelves , not the walls ?
Thanks for asking. I have added a wire grid to the back and sides of some of my plant shelf units, which lets me use them for either standing or hanging plants. I gives me a lot of flexibility, and by staggering the position of the plants I can fit quite a few in a small space. Thanks for watching and for your question.
Thanks for the question. Because the majority of my plants are in a passive hydroponic setup, I use a hydroponic nutrient system. There are several available, I just happen to use the GH "Flora" series. Thanks for watching and asking you question.
I noticed you have some self watering pots do you use mainly soil or PON? What has been your success for propogating these? I haven’t had a high success rate in PON or soil. Any tips? Tfs
I love self-watering pots for my hoyas, and most of my Hoyas are in pon-ish (I don't use the brand name). Pon is also what I use to propagate, and I have pretty good success. I have a couple of "shorts" showing what I do. I have started using my nutrient solution instead of plain water for rooting. Hope they're helpful. I don't think they're clickable, you may need to copy and paste. I've become a believer in "root 'em in what you're gonna grow them in". @@PlantedInRI they did link. Thank you. I also agree with prop to what they are going into. Kevin with hukana I thought propped his plants keeping the water up to the top. I see you are only allowing the bottom to stay moist. I will try your way as when I fill to top they seem to rot and they get air circulation. Thanks
Please! Can you advise me how to grow the lacunosa perangin durian, I have bought like 6 plants and die on me. I'm in S. TX . I love your lacunosas I have quite few too but this one is so hard for me . Thank you ❤️
Thanks for your question. H lacunosa Durian Perangin isn't always easy to get going. I'm happy to try and help. Can you tell me a bit about how you're trying to grow the plants: what kind of medium you are using, what kind of container, did you buy rooted plants or cuttings, what kind of light they get, how often you water, things like that. What symptoms did the plant show before it died? Thanks for watching.
This is definitely my favorite video amongst all❤ omg I want them all😘

You have a beautiful room there for your plants. I hope you have a big comfy chair/lounge to have a nap on
Thanks. I do. I think you can just see a bit of it in the lower left. I'm dog sitting for Monte this week (he makes a brief cameo early on) and it's one of his favorite places to nap, too. Thanks for watching and adding your comments.
I have to say you changed my mind on the Amarillo. I thought it just looked chllorotic but yours is gorgeous!
That's the way it happened for me. Thanks for watching and adding your comment.
Great lacunosa show & tell and that martini had my mouth watering haha!
Thank you for watching and commenting. Nothing like a dirty vodka martini to start the weekend.

Love your collection and the way you talk about your plants. It makes me want more lacunosa in my collection too.❤
Thanks for your kind words, for watching and adding your comment. Yes, lacunosas can be very addictive, but they're so much fun.

Amazing! You're truly the King of Lacunosa!👍
Well, hardly the king, not really even a minor royal, but I appreciate your sentiment. Thank you for watching and adding your comment.
My pleasure and you're welcome! Yes, you are the King, the Master of your beautiful domain!😊✌️

Thanks so much for that advice and, I already know I will not purchase a lacunosa eskimo...
beautiful „beginning stage” 🙃🌿💚 love it and I’m sad not to have any yet …

@@PlantedInRI Yes, of course I always do
You have some very pretty Hoya's. I prefer small leaves, darker colors, and manageable-sized ones.
Those are just some of the reasons we love lacunosa. Thanks for watching and sharing your comment.

Yay! Finally your lacunosa collection 😊
You were in my mind as I was filming since you had mentioned that you'd like to see it/them. Thanks for watching.
@PlantedInRI Yes, thanks for remembering that. I'm slowly getting more and they're very rewarding with flowers and they're beautiful leaves.
My goal is to have a beautuful room like yours to put all of my hoyas :). Finally no more snow for us here in RI! My plants are happier in Spring !
