    Just got off a double shift on my feet in leather-soled shoes. I Rode my bike home in the dark and was almost hit by several cars. I ate a filet-o-fish for dinner because I'm too tired to cook. But this. . .this makes it all better.

    Hey Jimmy just want to say love your channel. Really great to seeing another Catholic interested in these types of mysterious phenomenon. Would you ever consider doing an episode on Japanese mythology and some of the mysterious things going on here? I’m a Marine stationed on Okinawa and I’ve definitely heard of weird things going on here from the locals and weird things on the mainland especially around Mt Fuji. Would make for a great episode!
    Also thank you for your apologetics. Your approach to the faith and your books really helped me during my conversion and through the RCIA process. God bless you man.

      Nick Howard I used to live on kadena airbase in Okinawa, my dad flew KC130s and I had my closet burst open on me by itself when I was a kid and ever since then I had been followed by some sort of haunting or demon and it followed me back to the states until I started reading my Bible sophomore year of college but it was super weird. All started in OKI

    The first group of scientists were disappointed because of lack of supernatural activity? Simple:
    1. Remodel the house
    2. Dig on the property.

    Wow. I’m speechless. This is one of the best episodes yet. The blue panic orbs are especially creepy. I have no good theories about what might be going on there, but if it’s killing dogs I’m against it. Count me in with the requests for an episode on cattle mutilation. I remember watching something on the news as a kid about pig mutilations down here in Texas and it terrified me. I don’t remember whether they were blaming it on UFOs or on chupacabra, though.
    Also, out of curiosity, would you consider doing an episode on the Neanderthals and Denisovans? So many new discoveries have come out in the past few years and I’m really fascinated by the Neanderthals in particular. I’d really like to see someone approach it all from both faith and reason like you guys do.

    I'm so glad you did this episode. I've always wanted to know more about Skinwalker Ranch, and I had no idea it had such a variety of phenomena! Great episode!
    P.S. Deseret is pronounced with the hard T at the end (Des-er-ett). I grew up in Salt Lake City and that's the only way I've ever heard it pronounced, including from people on the news and city officials who would mention the paper.

    • @JimmyAkin
      @JimmyAkin  5 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Thanks! I thought that it would be pronounced the American way as Des-er-ett. When we recorded the episode, my background in linguistics kicked in, and I found myself also offering the Fench pronunciation of "Des-er-ay" as an option. :-)

    • @mcreena
      @mcreena 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@JimmyAkin It's understandable! I honestly never thought about it being pronounced like that because I always heard it pronounced the American way since I was little, but when I heard you say it like that it made me pause and wonder why I'd never heard someone say it like that before. It really does look like a word that could be pronounced the French way. Funny how something so small can make you see something so normative to you in a different light!
      Also, I was hoping I could throw a recommendation for a future show in. If you can get enough material out of it, would you ever consider doing an episode on the Battle of Los Angeles? I'd love to hear your analysis of it!

    ok, so the part about the black dog with the giant head.....this affected me because when i was a kid i was on my porch looking out into the treeline of our woods. i was looking at something else, but out of the corner of my eye, i saw a black dog in the woods, with a comically large head (imagine an alligator head on a pit bull) that looked like it was chewing on something. It was a sudden vision, then it was gone. i figured i must have seen one of the neighborhood dogs and my mind was playing tricks on me. a few minutes later, my friend who was on the porch with me, said something about seeing a "black dog opening and closing it's mouth". It was weird day because weeks prior to that, i had seen a fox in the woods that didnt seem particularly scared of me. i saw it multiple times that day. So when i was looking in the woods on the day i saw the black dog, i was actually searching for the fox. From then on, i was convinced there was some sort of paranormal black dog entity out there.

(One of the names of the fallen, the leader ).then some reason some of the elites are engaged in trying to reopen these portal/conduits to these places ..they are trying to bring back the fallen from their prison...some say cern and hadron collider is a potential portal ..there seem to be several portals here that were in use often in the ancient times ..apparently other worldly being were among us (angels ?demons etc etc )...this place is one giant gran central station universe interchange ?(apparently so it seems )..

    I find incredulous that on the first day a wolf, the height of a mature Angus cow, comes trotting up from a distance, and the first reaction is NOT to get his .30-06 rifle from the truck, just in case, but to try to pet it instead. That right there says to me either the guy is a city slicker fool or there is a major scent of bullshit in the air, and I don't mean from his livestock.

    Just having my shopping put back in my plastic bags after packing it away minutes would be enough for me to want to leave, never mind mutilated cattle, sometimes within minutes of them bring alive; incinerated dogs... tunnels. That is if these reports are true. The skeptic in me finds this hard to believe. But like the Dyatlov Pass episode (#24) this is scary. Jimmy could write his own book on some of these. I have some of his books so I know he could write this up very well.

    I personally think skinwalker ranch has a demonic infestation. Demons can be mischievous, I don't think the only goal is to lead people away from God. Alot of things, like appearances of weird creatures, control over nature, points to spiritual being activity. In any case it's weird and interesting.

    With all due respect to the effort put into this episode, the New York Post did a thorough investigation of the claims made about Skinwalker Ranch and found there to be no evidence whatsoever. All the stories are from books that have no sources. These same books claim to have evidence and yet when the writer has been interviewed he has admitted that they have no evidence. Many employees also came out and said they embellished accounts to please their boss since he would get angry if they had nothing to report. Hence crazy stories such as dinobeaver sightings. Notice how none of these "sightings" have photographic or video evidence even though the research was done on this ranch for decades. The rich boss even jokingly claimed that whenever he would visit the ranch the strange events would stop happening. The lack of verifiable evidence is what led him to shut down the project in the end. A New York Post host even spent a night at the ranch and filmed his experience. I highly recommend this New York Post series.

Almost like this Earth is one big sound stage and they are capable of observing and changing circumstances as they like. I also feel that religion was dedicated to the worship of these beings since they are so far more complex than us that we would literally consider them Gods.

    Also I've watched a documentary that showed how some animal mutilation where it looks cauterized or cut with a laser can happen due to maggots and that the first places to be eaten are places like the tongue and areas Jimmy mentioned. Now if this is true it doesn't explain the short time frame this happened in the accounts of skinwalker ranch

    This is just my opinion, but I think it's a spiritual thing.
    IDK what most Christian have believed about demons, and I know just because something is historical doesn't necessarily make it right, but the ancient peoples didn't really believe in a Devil like we do nor demons. In fact, you don't see these mentioned in the Old Testament at all, yet you see them in the New Testament, so we have to harmonize them some how.
    Ancients believed in a spectrum of spirits: good spirits, evil spirits, chaos spirits, humans spirits, etc:
    + We know good spirits primarily as _angels_. In some cases, we know them as apparitions of saints (I am a very Anglican and Lutheran-leaning Evangelical, so I am somewhat skeptical of that sort of thing.)
    + Evil spirits, we call them demons, or, collectively though wrongly, as "the Devil." Ghosts (human spirits) can fulfill this role, such as with the poltergeist.
    + Chaos spirits -- we don't really have a proper category for this, but ghosts do fill this role.
    + Human spirits -- ghosts.
    Chaos spirits were believed neither to be good nor evil, though their actions were evil. They just caused chaos and disorder because they wanted to -- basically, they are internet trolls, but in real life and non-material. The classic trickster-type character such as Loki, Jacob and his father-in-law Laban in the OT, etc. would be the sort of type role they might have. If evil spirits are gentlemen wearing suits, chaos spirits are monkeys in trees throwing things at them or other people.
    In the Old Testament, it looks like you have regional evil spirits -- the gods -- who control a geographic region, perhaps have other spirits under them, and they team up with each other or wage war with each other in attempts at controlling more territory. In the New Testament, we see a devil type figure with the advent of dualism in 2nd Temple Judaism, and it looks like this is just the strongest figure and many, though perhaps not all, regional warlords formed a federation with him rather than anything unified or truly permanent.
    I think that what is going on with most ghost encounters is probably chaos spirits or demons -- if there seems to be some organized effort to undermine Christianity, I suspect it is probably demonic, if it isn't, I suspect it probably is just a spiritual-troll having a little fun at the sanity and lives of others.
    And so I think that with Skin Walker ranch, what you have going on is simply a horde of chaos spirits mixed with probably government phenomena. That whole region has had a history of similar activity, and it is pagan land -- Christians have not taken over it to redeem the land and exorcise it. So it's probably like a spiritual jungle or forest. Its overgrown and the native "wildlife" need to be expelled to go off somewhere else and "starve."

      @IRHanley is that true? I am quite skeptical myself, which is why I ended up becoming Christian, I saw that the evidence fit. I almost guarantee you take at least something on faith, have you ever seen an animal actually evolve? Now, my mother's background is in biology so I don't doubt Evolution, but have you actually seen it? Well, if you believe it, you take it on faith. You probably quite reasonably see the evidence, and conclude it must be true, that's actually how Faith Works, Faith isn't the same as Blind Faith, but I guarantee a lot of people that fancy themselves Skeptics fall into that category

    Awesome episode, as usual! I had a quick question. You mention in the episode several times that the ranch was “in the path of a skinwalker”. What exactly does that mean. Does it mean they dwell in that area? Additionally, what exactly does the skinwalker have to do with all the weird phenomena, if anything?

    • @JimmyAkin
      @JimmyAkin  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The local Native Americans legends hold that there is a nearby valley where a skinwalker lives, and the ranch is in his path. In Native American lore, the skinwalker is thought to be behind the weird phenomena reported in the area, though that's not the most modern of explanations.
