May I offer a suggestion? I have noticed your beautiful old wood stove top is looking a little rusty. My grandmother who used a wood stove regularly, use to ball up some waxed paper and rub it over the hot surface. Like magic it became shiny and black as new. It lasts a good while and slows the formation of new rust. I guarantee you will be pleased. Oh yes, and thank you for all the hours of fascinating video and very hard work.
For you to have said you’re not a professional construction worker, baffles me, I think you have learned so much. After all your projects, seems like you got it down pat. I’m proud of you, again and again!

Martijn Doolard and Simple Life Alaska both have snow birds in big and small houses and all are just fine with free range by day and warm protection by night. Just imagine the fresh eggs for breakfast each morning, beats going to the store.
I adore watching a craftsman at work, creating from basic space to what can be achieved with maximum effort and with Shawn that is the preferred method. While Calli does her patrols , making sure no chipmunks invade her Dad's space.
Mr James , those New Tenants are Going to be extremely impressed by their New Digs ... You took that Build to a Large Level , Kudos .. Looks Sweet more to come ....

Shawn, I love to see, that you are allways adding some love and aesthetics in the design of your creations, instead of taking the short route to get as many things done as possible to reach a higher level of your self reliance. I cant wait to see the final state of the chicken coop.
Them chickens got it so good living in that fancy chicken motel !! I highly recommend every once in awhile to keep a grip on that entitlement mentality and to keep them from getting spoiled an overly pampered !! That you cook yourself up a fine delicious fried chicken DINNER 🐓🐔🐓🍗🍗🔪🔪🍴🍽️
Man! When you build something you really BUILD IT! You are putting more effort and quality in that chicken coop then most people put into their cabin. I'm sure it is going to be fantastic but it's a chicken coop. Don't get me wrong, I love to see you out the effort and love into everything you build.
Nice woodstove! Surface rust can be removed by laying vinegar soaked paper towels on top and let sit for a few hours. Remove towels then sprinkle the area with baking soda to neutralize the acidic reaction. Rub with blue non abrasive scotchbrite and clesn off that with a damp cloth or sponge. Season with oil as with a cast iron pan.
Once again, I am awed by your abilities and your tenacity. I so take for granted your part in my life and often fail to let you know just how much I appreciate your Life and your continuing desire to share with us all. Thank you.
Sir ,when you cook during your show it makes the show so much more enjoyable .thank you for all those extra moments it really is a joy watching! your a true builder and a chef.
Remembrance of my life as a farmboy near Rochester, NY: we scalded and plucked chicken and ducks. Our wire runs had overhead sections so that raptors like your wonderful owl family could not 'eat our lunch.'

Oh, I can smell that turkey roasting all the way to my house, Shawn! What a good looking bird. The chickens will have a sound home and I hope it will be insulated well. Missed Cali being in most of the shots, but I'm sure she's getting lots of loving.
Awesome good catch on the turkey! You will not regret having chickens. I’ve been off grid now for seven years and I always have breakfast. Lol I ordered 20 meat chickens for August to put away for the winter. Great video ❤
Wow, Ive been watching you for over 5 years. I've never seen or heard so many insects show up on the screen. It must be miserable. But I'm sure the beauty and bounty of your homestead makes it more than worth it.
Wow. I'm sitting here thinking, "This used to be a multi-video series. Now's he's right after it and getting it done." Those chickens better appreciate this! (Just keep a large roasting pan near the door as a motivational tool.)
Lucky chickens, they have a mansion for a home. The craftmanship is remarkable. Hands off to you Mr. James.👏💪👍❤️ Stay safe as we continue to enjoy your videos. God bless.🙏

Thanks Shawn wifey and sweet Cali .🙏
I got my 1st Mirriam sub species Wild Turkey, last Sunday morning at 6:30 am about 20 minutes after they came down from the roost. I used 3" magnum 12 ga #5 shot in a 22 inch barrel modified choke pump shotgun. We had hunted 2 evenings and 1 morning prior. The evening before success we found their roosting trees, that was the key to success. This was in Northern Utah, the Wasatch mountains. About 5500 ft elevation. They will move up to about 6-7000 ft as we get into Summer. Based on the beard length, mine was 2 years old and weighed 15 lbs once gutted and plucked.
Blessings to you Shawn! Flying bugs season! Love the jacket ! I will probably order the jacket and the hat with the net for the summer! Hubby and I will need it! The gnats are terrible in the south ! You and your family have a great weekend! God bless!🧚🏼♂️🧚🏼♂️🧚🏼♂️❤️
Loved the barred owl peeking one eye out of the hollow. You'll have to watch and see how many owlets she has. Sad to see the turkey eggs got taken. We've been having the same problem here in the states. Turkey flock is definitely decreased from what it used to be. Nice job on the coop and the filming. You make a calm, enjoyable video that I really appreciate watching.
That's gotta be the finest chicken coop ever built. I keep telling Mary I'm gonna build myself a fortress of solitude on the corner of the property overlooking the valley. I feel like I wanna use your basic design for myself

That family of chickens hired the right contractor.

what does 'professional' mean anyway? :)

That cage is so small I don't understand the myth of 4 foot by 6 foot cages 🤔 where I was raised cages where 12 feet by 12 feet minimum

Wow, being free to build a needed structure on your property without someone yelling where’s your permit, where’s your HOA approval. True freedom
Yeah, we talk about 'the free world' and can't even build a property to live in. Cult level brainwashing.
