i went through this with my dream car 3 months ago. 2014, 100th Anniversary Dodge Challenger Rt Plus. been drooling about these cars since they hit the streets in 08. youre 100% right on ever point. dont settle for less. dont give up on any specs you wanted. and what you said about washign your car for the first time by hand. youre 1000000x correct. very emotional. if you dont look back at your car every time you park it you bought the wrong car.

13:40 Wow! I had the EXACT same feeling when i bought my dream car. At first i couldnt actually feel and believe it that i owned this car. When i went to wash it, and got my sponge in my hand while washing it, i teared up a little. A dream came true and i felt it

Look A G I love and hate it at the same time. Writing my own paychecks is stressful and freeing. I'm also not into gimmicks and that's still what most clients come into the gym looking for. So that conversation gets old but it's definitely worth it. Just make sure you have realistic expectations about growth.

You nailed it Larry! I remember writing the model of the car on a piece of small paper and then replaced it with a car brochure then pinned it my office work station right in front of my face. Whenever I feel troubled, I look at it then I regain my focus. It just helps get me back on track when I get sidelined. Wow Larry! I am in the exact scenario having just bought a 2008 Audi TT, a car that I dreamt of owning ever since I was a teenager (I'm 38 now!). I disagree on one point. I had my vision wall for over 20 years and my heart set on buying a Porsche 911 Turbo. When that day came to pull the trigger, off to the dealership I went. Checkbook in hand. I drove the car, loved it and told them I would come back later in the day, but I had to test drive one more car before I pulled the trigger so I would know I wouldn't have any regrets. I drove the Mercedes SLS and as soon as I stomped on the gas pedal and heard the exhaust note, my 20 year dream took a bit of a delay. I vow to one day get a 911 Turbo, but for now a pretty silver gull wing is sitting in the garage. Sometimes impulse can be a great thing. But you are 100% right. You have to enjoy the process! Just got back from a trip with a friend who finally got his dream car, a Gen V Viper GTS. We drove it back and it was a fantastic trip. I've been following you for quite a while and it's for reasons like this video. The way you describe everything shows how passionate you are about what you do and the rare vehicles you come across. I've been watching your videos for a long time and it's weird how one can feel so happy for someone when neither of us know each other. You realizing your dreams makes me want to work hard for mine too.
I'm chasing one of my dream cars right now. I have this big love for the 99-04 mustangs. I used to hate them but my wife had one when we were dating and they grew on me over time. The dream is two parts. I wanted both versions that had the notched c pillar glass instead of the normal curved c pillar glass. These are the 01 Bullitt and the 03/04 Mach 1. It helps that both of these cars come with the same brakes as the Cobras, so a simple pad/fluid change is sufficient for my driving intentions in the short term. In 2014 I purchased a 38,000 mile manual Mach 1. Unlike Larry, I didn't go after that one color which was my favorite because I liked all of the colors. Azure blue was the one I really wanted but I got Dark Shadow Grey. After seeing the color in person for the first time, I never regretted it. Now, 4 years later, the Mach has 39,000 miles and chills in the garage and it is time to get the 2nd part of my dream, the 01 Bullitt. The idea for the Bullitt is to be more of a driver and receive tasteful mods aimed at handling. I could go through the mod list but this is already getting long. True Blue is my favorite with Dark Highland Green coming in a very very close 2nd. I wouldn't mind black but I already had a black 01 GT a few years back and want something different this time. I want the car to have around 100k miles and be fairly stock. I expect, at 17 years old, it will need a lot of maintenance and that's fine. I'm fully capable of rebuilding the suspension, replacing the clutch, replacing everything on the front of the engine with a pulley, and recovering the seats...all things it will probably need. Larry gets to know his cars by washing them; I don't bond with a car until I work on it extensively. I believe I've found the right car and I'm pursuing it right now. It is dark highland green. I've had a set of 18x9 and 18x10 10th anniversary cobra wheels in my attic for three years waiting to go on a Bullitt. I hope this all works out and I'm able to fulfill my dream just as Larry did with his.

Like you, I got sparked by an Audi R8 in 2008 but in the Iron Man movie. I was already an Audi owner at the time and I was so engrossed. However life and finances prohibited having one for 11 years. I watched this video last year and was all in in your approach to buying an R8. I spent many many months researching researching every R8 related social media. Last November that dream came true. I got a 2008 Ice Silver R8. Previous/original owner spared no expense with tasteful upgrades. Mosconi / Focal upgrade to B&O system. HRE 20" 3pc 590R wheels. Complete CF engine bay. H&R SS1 coilovers Heffner TT conversion. I've driven it only once since picking it up as it went into storage. I now have a mate to my daily driver A5. Both are Ice Silver and both a 2008. Just picked up my dream car (New Edge Mustang) it was the car that made me fall in love with cars when I was 6 years old. The first wash was like you said, more than just making it shine. It didn’t deal like it was really my car until I foamed it up for the first time
Best Video I've seen all month! When buying my latest DD I spent a month learning about options that were available from the dealer vs standard equipment. But when buying a 20 year old vehicle you can't find that perfect combo of part options. But I discovered If I found a vehicle that had 90% of the dealer options I was looking for, installing the last 10% my self was possible.
Congrats Larry, I did very similar 2 yrs ago when I bought my dream Aston Martin V8 Vantage Coupe with Manual 6sp, my sale was from an exotic dealer but I send the car to an Aston Martin dealership for a full Pre-Purchase Inspection or PPI and base on the report I went ahead and made the purchase and drove it home the same day a 600km ride. What an amazing feeling that was, thanks for sharing.

Right now at 27, I am nowhere near my goal of owning an R8 but hopefully some day I will have the pleasure of taking delivery like you have. Congrats man!
After always owning shite cars, I picked up a car I never thought I could afford. A 5 month old Jaguar XE R Sport in the exact spec I wanted. It's an exciting experience as Larry outlines here, but when they pulled that red satin sheet off it in the showroom I felt like a kid at Xmas all over again. Next upgrade is the XES V6. Sometimes I just sit in the living room staring out the window at it, especialy after a detail 😎. This R8 is very nice, but I think Aston Martin would be my choice in this price range.
JonnyD3ath Superb car, you have only got to read the reviews and videos on it to see it has a very good reputation. What model year is the one near you? Is it an R sport 180? The touchscreen is a bit laggy, other than that, its blinding. They look best with the black pack and 19" black venom wheels imo. Match that with any of the colours and it looks stunning. I have a corris grey one. The auto box is great, lots of driving modes, Sport on gearbox with dynamic mode and flappy paddles gives you its full beast mode.
William Winnfield i tell a lie William! I went back to check the exact specs and it’s actually an XF, not an XE. They actually have 2, one is a sport and one is a v6 R-sport. 2014 and diesel. I feel your pain with the laggy touch screen, my discovery has the same issue and seeing as the same company makes both, that makes sense, and it would be such an easy thing to have fixed!
Everything on TH-cam is commercialised it's all about the money , but you do what you do with so much passion . I've used a few tricks from your videos to clean my cars interior. Congratulations on your dream car . Keep up the awesome videos 😊

Though Unfortunate I recently sold to move on to new projects (GT-R with full mods build) and fresh chapter making new memories. I too did the same, having the same experience and enjoyed every step including researching, making hard calls nationwide, having them send a full review and then finding a certified analysis way before the WWW and its many awesome metrics were available at the comfort of your home. I love the R8. I just found a Black on Black R8 V8 in NJ. IT has 27k miles and the price went down to $59K. I called and put money down to hold her. Im going there to test drive and hopefully we can work a deal to get my dream car. I love my Nismo 370Z, but ill let my redhead go for this supercar of my dreams. Thanks for the awesome vid!

It took a little over a year and a half after I set my budget to find the car that I wanted. Making a list of the features and options you want is important. My FAVORITE car is the 1964 Shelby Cobra Daytona CSX2287. My dreamcar is a Burnt Orange 1970 Plymouth Road Runner 440 6BBL. Black leather, no spoiler, no stripe. Mopar rally wheel are necessary, and Radial T/A or Good Year Eagle. I'm 21 and recently bought a 1968 Pontiac Le Mans, 2dr hardtop, Champagne Metallic, GTO Judge clone, 400 4BBL, Pontiac Rally IIs. My 7th vehicle.

I disagree on one point. I had my vision wall for over 20 years and my heart set on buying a Porsche 911 Turbo. When that day came to pull the trigger, off to the dealership I went. Checkbook in hand. I drove the car, loved it and told them I would come back later in the day, but I had to test drive one more car before I pulled the trigger so I would know I wouldn't have any regrets. I drove the Mercedes SLS and as soon as I stomped on the gas pedal and heard the exhaust note, my 20 year dream took a bit of a delay. I vow to one day get a 911 Turbo, but for now a pretty silver gull wing is sitting in the garage. Sometimes impulse can be a great thing. But you are 100% right. You have to enjoy the process! Just got back from a trip with a friend who finally got his dream car, a Gen V Viper GTS. We drove it back and it was a fantastic trip. I've been following you for quite a while and it's for reasons like this video. The way you describe everything shows how passionate you are about what you do and the rare vehicles you come across. I'm chasing one of my dream cars right now. I have this big love for the 99-04 mustangs. I used to hate them but my wife had one when we were dating and they grew on me over time. The dream is two parts. I wanted both versions that had the notched c pillar glass instead of the normal curved c pillar glass. These are the 01 Bullitt and the 03/04 Mach 1. It helps that both of these cars come with the same brakes as the Cobras, so a simple pad/fluid change is sufficient for my driving intentions in the short term. In 2014 I purchased a 38,000 mile manual Mach 1. Unlike Larry, I didn't go after that one color which was my favorite because I liked all of the colors. Azure blue was the one I really wanted but I got Dark Shadow Grey. After seeing the color in person for the first time, I never regretted it. Now, 4 years later, the Mach has 39,000 miles and chills in the garage and it is time to get the 2nd part of my dream, the 01 Bullitt. The idea for the Bullitt is to be more of a driver and receive tasteful mods aimed at handling. I could go through the mod list but this is already getting long. True Blue is my favorite with Dark Highland Green coming in a very very close 2nd. I wouldn't mind black but I already had a black 01 GT a few years back and want something different this time. I want the car to have around 100k miles and be fairly stock. I expect, at 17 years old, it will need a lot of maintenance and that's fine. I'm fully capable of rebuilding the suspension, replacing the clutch, replacing everything on the front of the engine with a pulley, and recovering the seats...all things it will probably need. Larry gets to know his cars by washing them; I don't bond with a car until I work on it extensively. I believe I've found the right car and I'm pursuing it right now. It is dark highland green. I've had a set of 18x9 and 18x10 10th anniversary cobra wheels in my attic for three years waiting to go on a Bullitt. I hope this all works out and I'm able to fulfill my dream just as Larry did with his.
Got my dream nissan gt-r, now working on getting my dream amg gtr. I always buy toy replicas of the cars I intend to buy.

Like you, I got sparked by an Audi R8 in 2008 but in the Iron Man movie. I was already an Audi owner at the time and I was so engrossed. However life and finances prohibited having one for 11 years. I watched this video last year and was all in in your approach to buying an R8. I spent many many months researching researching every R8 related social media.
Last November that dream came true. I got a 2008 Ice Silver R8. Previous/original owner spared no expense with tasteful upgrades.

Best Video I've seen all month! When buying my latest DD I spent a month learning about options that were available from the dealer vs standard equipment. But when buying a 20 year old vehicle you can't find that perfect combo of part options. But I discovered If I found a vehicle that had 90% of the dealer options I was looking for, installing the last 10% my self was possible.

Congrats Larry, I did very similar 2 yrs ago when I bought my dream Aston Martin V8 Vantage Coupe with Manual 6sp, my sale was from an exotic dealer but I send the car to an Aston Martin dealership for a full Pre-Purchase Inspection or PPI and base on the report I went ahead and made the purchase and drove it home the same day a 600km ride. What an amazing feeling that was, thanks for sharing.

After always owning shite cars, I picked up a car I never thought I could afford. A 5 month old Jaguar XE R Sport in the exact spec I wanted. It's an exciting experience as Larry outlines here, but when they pulled that red satin sheet off it in the showroom I felt like a kid at Xmas all over again. Next upgrade is the XES V6. Sometimes I just sit in the living room staring out the window at it, especialy after a detail 😎. This R8 is very nice, but I think Aston Martin would be my choice in this price range.

JonnyD3ath Superb car, you have only got to read the reviews and videos on it to see it has a very good reputation. What model year is the one near you? Is it an R sport 180? The touchscreen is a bit laggy, other than that, its blinding. They look best with the black pack and 19" black venom wheels imo. Match that with any of the colours and it looks stunning. I have a corris grey one. The auto box is great, lots of driving modes, Sport on gearbox with dynamic mode and flappy paddles gives you its full beast mode.
William Winnfield i tell a lie William! I went back to check the exact specs and it’s actually an XF, not an XE. They actually have 2, one is a sport and one is a v6 R-sport. 2014 and diesel. I feel your pain with the laggy touch screen, my discovery has the same issue and seeing as the same company makes both, that makes sense, and it would be such an easy thing to have fixed!
JonnyD3ath Yeah, no excuse for lag imo. If you go for an XF, make sure its the new style interior, very similar to XE.

I love the R8. I just found a Black on Black R8 V8 in NJ. IT has 27k miles and the price went down to $59K. I called and put money down to hold her. Im going there to test drive and hopefully we can work a deal to get my dream car. I love my Nismo 370Z, but ill let my redhead go for this supercar of my dreams. Thanks for the awesome vid!

Larry, What an awesome experience. I too recently purchased my dream car. A 2010 Aston Martin V8 Vantage in Lightning Silver with Obsidian Black interior. It took a little over a year and a half after I set my budget to find the car that I wanted. Making a list of the features and options you want is important. My FAVORITE car is the 1964 Shelby Cobra Daytona CSX2287. My dreamcar is a Burnt Orange 1970 Plymouth Road Runner 440 6BBL. Black leather, no spoiler, no stripe. Mopar rally wheel are necessary, and Radial T/A or Good Year Eagle. I'm 21 and recently bought a 1968 Pontiac Le Mans, 2dr hardtop, Champagne Metallic, GTO Judge clone, 400 4BBL, Pontiac Rally IIs. My 7th vehicle.
