loving the update! I got my circuit in the first couple of weeks of launch. It was amazing. Then the 1.2 update arrived, and it was amazing. Now the 1.3 update arrived and.. yeah, you guessed it, it's amazing. Sorry, I'm not very creative with words... thanks Novation for continuing support for what I believe to be the best value synth/groovebox ever!!! I'm already excited for what might be next!

These tutorials are too rapid for my little mind. We need a more detailed manual that talks thru keystoke combinations, describes side chaining, etc. Some people learn better by reading and trying things themselves, rather than videos. Also agree on an app that doesn't require internet for those of us who live in the boonies.

I totally agree. I have been trying to figure out this sample flip functionality, been in contact with Novation and they just released a user guide update for V1.3 firmware. However, even with this manual update it doesn't seem to do 'what I think it should' and doesn't match what you see people doing in these rapid on line demos. Even after mailing their support team what I thought was a really clear use case for what I was trying to do I am still baffled. I've resigned myself to the fact I have misunderstood this feature which I thought was: The ability to copy any drum sample to any step in any of the drums sequencers, e.g. put down a kick drum on Drum 1 and then copy a snare (for example) from the Drum 2 sample page onto the steps in your Drum 1 sequencer thus having a mixture of kicks and snares on the same step sequencer thus freeing up other sequencers. This is how I read this from their release information/tutorials...but I can't figure it out!

I just purchased a circuit a few days ago. I feel the "I don't get this" part. I watched this clip today about 10 times and still don't get how to quickly make so many drum "parts" with just the 2 orange Drum column on the circuit. I'm also perplexed how to setup my drum samples in "Components" optimally.
What is he saying at 0:57?? On my Circuit (1.3), the HH sound on drum 3 changes also if you don't press "SHIFT" + 3!
Can you make a more detailed GUIDE, please, instead this quick (and messy) tutorial, please? Will be much apreciate!
I mean, he doesn't explain all the new rules well! I'm losing time to replicate what he does but I have not the same results. He omitted to say many things.

Wow this is very cool.
This was the update that sealed the deal for me.. I wonder if it's possible in a future update for individual step changes to be possible while playing, without having to record knob movements? ie. hold a step and adjust the parameters for that step, much like how note/velocity/gate works on the synth. This would make it a very powerful competitor to the Elektron parameter lock system :D

Firstly, I have learnt alot of this video so thank you Oli, and for help creating this magic box! (sonic state fan lol), So I bought lots of studio stuff mpc lives, pioneer mixer, analog synths and only bought a circuit in place of a beatstep pro.....😂 a week later I bought another😉. I'm not sure I need the studio anymore😂 They are so so so clever and QUICK!!! I have fell in love lol!

Please provide better documentation for the sample flip. This video is confusing, as is the addendum. I'm having a easier time understanding my new Elektron Analog Keys than the Circuit, simply due to better documentation. Steps to replicate please, not a long paragraph that says do this while holding my nose, scratching my ass, and holding shift with my left toe.

Hello! I recentely buy one of this used. I stil can get how to stop the open hat on a closed one, or itslef. How to do?

I have version 1.8 and have duplicated steps from track 2 to track 1 exactly as shown (3:38) automation is duplicated from track 2 but the sample doesn't. Instead the same sample from track 1 plays with the duplicated automation that came from track 2. What can I do to enable my circuit to duplicate sample & automation?
is the sample flip sendind a midi cc for recording in another sequencer? Can you record the midi data of what you did in the video in a computer/sequencer?

This is actually a custom Pack, afraid it isn't available from Components but you should be able to find similar samples online that you can use to create your own Pack.

Hi. I've just bought this smart little machine. Could you please tell me how to preview patches? I press shift + synth 1 and then I see 32 highlighted pads. But when I press them, I hear no sound. Why? I'm not in a record mode. The same is when I go to drums.
I can only hear them when I record a sequence and then press "play". Then when I press shift + synth and choose any pad, circuit will change the patch. Is it normal?
Have you updated your Circuit firmware yet? Patch preview was introduced in a firmware update, it sounds as though you may need to update to access this and lots of other new features.
I can´t duplicate between two drum tracks without loosing my sound. The steps were added but the source sample is changed to the sample in the destination track. I followed the steps but got only the explained result.
Did anyone try this?

Hi ! I really need your help. Lets say I have one sample with 6 seconds, I change up the pitch of the sample by 12 semitones (so it will be shorter, lets say 3 seconds, to save up memory). When I use it in the circuit I hope that if I put down the pitch of the sample it could play at normal speed and normal pitch. I just want to know if that is posible in the circuit (since it doesn't have screen, it has to be set up with your ears). The Circuit will warp-quantize in someway the long sample, so it will be useless (the sample will be at the same fast speed with a weird lower pitch)? Thanks !
As Circuit is limited to 60 seconds of sample storage, the Sample Import feature works best when used to add short, percussive samples and one-shots. That said, you can also import longer samples although this may result in you running out of space quickly and having 'empty' pads in the sample selection area of your Circuit.
Increasing the pitch of samples before importing them will reduce their length and take up less storage space on Circuit, as you have suggested. When imported, samples that have been pitched up can be reduced in pitch using the dedicated Macro to return them to their original pitch. Circuit won't "warp-quantize" samples, the Pitch Macro can be effectively used to decrease the pitch of a sample by 12 semitones or 1 octave.
Circuit can go 2 octaves lower so you can get even more out of it now if you don't mind lower quality long samples. The circuit is near perfect now..... All I really want now is a sample start point editing function..... that would be a dream come true

Put the speed on .75. The “drunken” version makes more sense but I still had to play it several times. Also why can’t companies like this employ people who actually have great personalities? I find it absolutely astonishing that they get sales people who couldn’t sell snow to an Eskimo 😫🤣

Yes. Well, yet drum samples are boring. Synthesis is way more open in terms of manipulation and sound crafting ... including drum synthesis as well.
