  • Hello... The registration workshops in the June/July edition of Yamaha Club Magazine are based on the simple arrangements found in the 'Latin' volume of the Easiest Keyboard Collection music book series. The song featured in the Genos workshop is 'La Cucaracha' and you can hear an illustration of how the finished project should sound at the start of this set. The completed registrations are available free to magazine subscribers and four more songs from the same 'Latin' book are also included. The songs are played in the same key as the written score - so you should be able to follow the main tune quite easily. As always, thanks for listening :-)

That's very kind... but I've just been watching a video of that young pianist mentioned in the magazine. She played better a 9 years old than I could ever dream of. Amazing!

    "Because intro2 doesn't follow a chord sequence..."
"...you can play your own series if chords (optional)..."
Theres a good handful of styles that have done this. The ones I can remember are the old Clubdance style, Unplugged (psr2000), one of the OrchSwing styles (older keyboards), etc.

Hi, yes indeed - and several that you can play part of the referenced song over because the Intro/Ending exactly follows the song's chord sequence. Thanks for your info... it's all good fun :-)

Thanks for this cool video. The free web application AI Fingered Tutor from Thomas and me could be helpful for your audience. It shows all possible ways how to play chords using the Yamaha AI Fingered mode. This is especially useful if somebody wants to learn how to play more advanced chords like e.g. C 6/9 oder A13 or slash chords. And when playing Latin styles such chords are a must. Just google for AI Fingered Tutor.

It should be more perfect, if I can see you playing, but that's my modest opinion, no obligation of course.

Good point :-) Ii don't play so often these days - so sometimes it takes me many 'takes' to get the song right. Video is too time consuming to keep re-doing 'takes'. Sorry, I would like to... maybe one day :-)
