Hi Everyone! I'm still new to this but I thought I throw out my solutions to some issues I ran into KNIFE PLEAT SECTION After changing fold angle and simulation, barely any difference is made to cloth: Under property editor above Fold Angle, Increase Fold Strength. This seems to make a bit of a difference! IDK how it affects simulation time so probably change it back to 5 after you're done. Tacks are also your best friend! Tack the first section then move the rest over, Sewing: So I was a dummy and was sewing section 1 and 2, then section 2 to 3. This wrinkled my fabric badly. I ended up sewing Section 1 and 2, then section 1 and 3. This got it being smooothhhh. Simulate in between and don't be afraid to use tacks! Using the free segment sewing tool, I just sewed section 1 to the frozen base. Worked fine! Will edit as I go through the tutorial
Problem : sewing for pleats not working how do you correct it if its turning into a box when sewing pleats.. you mentioned segment points but how do you add it if its missing 8:16 i did create internal line to 32 then used the pleat fold tool when i try to use pleat sewing its selects the whole box Solution: Select all the points of the internal line and right click add Extend/Trim & Add point button then click to pattern outline you should be able to do 8:38
The version used here is version 9 and since then we have nested the tool groups, there should be a little arrow on the pleating tool icon. long press it and it will be there.
In terms of folding and sewing a hem line over pleats, should I do that first, before I start the pleat folding? I know hem lines aren't necessary on a 3D avatar model, but I was trying to create the aesthetic, particularly where in the final render and pose, the model is posed in a way that shows lining in suits, inside a hood, under a kilt etc.
When simulating the first one the fabric floats, like a slightly movement, the frozen fabric works well but the other piece moves even though I’m in 0 gravity :( is there something I can do?
Hi, great tutorials, thanks. I have a problem when animating my character, it gets caught on the clothes and many deformations are generated in the clothes. Any advice?
take a watch of both the "animation mode" and "posing a Garment" videos. there should be some tips for your issues in there for stability and collision
Make sure the line fold directions are mirrored when you unfold OR you can use the pleat tool again and choose the "box pleat" option and it should do it for you. (if you don't like the direction it ends up you can then use the pleat-fold tool again and select the reverse option in the popup to flip the fold)
Hey there, I noticed that bond/skive is mentioned in this video. I'm having trouble finding any documentation about what this means and what the settings do. Would someone mind explaining that bit or pointing me towards a video that will? Thanks
Bond is like adding interfacing to a piece - it makes the garment stiffer. Should be able to input “340.9*3” for the length and have the software figure out what that is

After is usually better. Depending on how you do it you can even get the folds copied and pasted in the folded shape.
my pleat gets really screwy and starts simulating into itself doing exactly what you did
It does the same with all types of pleating!! i can't use pleats like this :(

At 4:03 my simulation happens very slow and just leaves a crease in between the cloth. Please help

At 9:00 I can never get both folds at the front of the cloth. One or both are always at the back.

When i simulate my model its falling, why in the tutorial didant falling and its fold very smoth in oposite direction without falling down
because the upper fabric is "frozen" right click the material in the 3d window and select "freeze"
