For context, everyone is running Kashtira stuff in their decks, which means this is just a test. Some of these decks may actually be better without Kashtira tbh. Also one top 16 Tear player had to go because of an emergency, so we don't know if it could've been that Tear player that could've taken 1st place. Nonetheless, I am so happy to see who got 1st place because they are really fun to watch. Their plays are so crazy. This is only top 16 though, so I'm waiting on grand finals video.

I want to say this is my favorite yugi tuber channel. The others do a lot of niche or rogue or off the wall videos but I enjoy that this channel is 100% straight meta or things that are possible meta. And I still laugh hard at least once every video

Considering how Kashtira is a mortal enemy to pendulums, it's hilarious to see them used together like this. Though I suppose you could say the same about Tearlaments, though in their case that was more of a conquest than a complete denial of their existance.

Scareclaw Kash could have beaten dragon link or at least have been in a way better position. He could have summoned the reicheheart, added arrival, used arrival to special Astra or belone, linked for tri-heart, revive Astra, search acro. He'd have a 3600 double attacker to run over the borreload and had arrival in grave to protect against the pop...idk why he scooped for no reason
You know having played this game since it came out and coming at it as a first gen, actual yugioh card player, I really hated it at first. When I started playing yugioh irl there were less than 160 total cards, so it took some real adapting and mental gymnastics to come to accept and be able to build decks to compete in this era. Used to be you built a deck to be competitive and fun, now it's people who build fun decks, and people who will happily spend hundreds of real world dollars to build whatever the new op flavor of the month is because they don't want to duel, they only want to win. And that's fair, I don't hate anyone for taking the Kobra Kai approach. The thing that gets me is Konami has this pattern of releasing cards specifically to make a new meta deck, because the Iwannawins will spend millions of dollars buying packs to build the deck of the month. Then the public duels are flooded at every tier with asshats playing the same decks, the same combos, the same fecking cards that they saw on youtube, over and over and over again. That's all the meta is, just playing the same combos as the other guy and hoping to get a bit luckier. So then the people playing fun decks or lower tier decks they enjoy can't play them in public, they end up building anti-metas or burn decks, and playing those instead. This goes on for about a month, then konami releases "support cards" for the fun decks, which the fun players then spend a ton of money on, and bans a bunch of the most toxic cards to nut the meta decks they just released so everyone can just play again, and then the REALLY toxic players go back to lurking in gold with their hideously expensive decks to keep getting wins and keep feeling special. (Who the hell was still playing Tears in gold after a month)? Konami has done nothing but repeat this same cycle over and over and it always comes at the expense of people who just want to duel rather than pay to win. I dream of the day when they will just once, for the sheer effing novelty of it, actually do ONE update that focuses on making the mid-tier, fun decks really competitive instead of just milking the people with enough money to play in the meta with a "new" meta deck so they can then milk the non meta players a few weeks later out of their money so they can want to keep playing.
Even as it is very scarce Kash still feels like a powerful deck with the banishing power it has. I built a budget fusion with DM and runick and it honestly slaps.
Konami has to do something about Tearlaments & chaos ruler, they have become over centralizing. Every deck in top tiers is just some Bystial, Tearlements, Punk, Kashtira pile now and it’s just unbelievably boring.
Probably gonna go with Tearlaments Kashtira Orcust, that's TKO since I doubt I'm getting many OTKs with a setup like that. Birth letting World Ark and Orcust Knightmare be Normal Summoned is going to be funny, though probably not practical.

I don't play MD, but I'm so sick of Tear already. It's not even fun to watch anymore. They either win or get floodgates like that tournament where Sword Soul Proto Tear in the Grand Fianl.

Seeing TTK top is always so hype. Alongside seeing early stages of kash makes this a great top 16 to watch.
