Awesome timing! I just got a table saw for my shop and I'm not very confident with them, this is perfect for me since I don't need all the features of the regular models yet but I definitely want the safety and accuracy.

Great to hear! And when you are ready to take your woodworking to the next level, the GRR-RIPPER GR100 and 200 will be there for you.

You can get behind two for longer boards! LOL

Looks like a decent option for some folks.
I have both the Grr-Ripper (two of them mostly for my table saw & router table) and Grr-Rip Block (two of them for table saw & jointer), so this new block is probably not for me. It seems designed and positioned to be halfway between both and not as beneficial as either alone as far as what it can do. For the table saw and router, it is not as flexible as the Grr-Ripper and for the jointer, it lacks much of the grip surface area I would need to help control boards.
That being said and IMHO, for an all-in-one block, it would be good starter block for beginners to use and much better than standard push sticks that come with most saws.

csimet, it was designed with the beginning woodworker in mind, to help them learn their saw safely and when they need the trickier cuts they can graduate to the GRR-RIPPER 100 or 200.
It is also meant for contractors who want to have an effective 3D Pushblock on the jobsite but don't want to risk their $65.00 GRR-RIPPERs being destroyed or stolen.
I obviously have the entire line in my shop, but for simple cuts at the saw and router, I find myself grabbing these more and more often!

@@Microjig I don't see a price on the website yet, but they may be useful to me as it includes those MatchFit dovetails so you can make custom jig push blocks out of them.

csimet, the price is $29.99 each, so if you buy two, shipping is free!

I was never comfortable with the table saw until I got the gripper nearly 20 years ago

Thank you John. That is the main "side effect" of the GRR-RIPPERs for me. Everything in my shop is more enjoyable because I am less stressed about my fingers.

Your new gripper looks eerily similar to my shop made NMP Gripper that I've made and been using for over 4 years. I even have a playlist of my version with some minor changes over the years if interested. I wonder if you have ever seen any of my videos :>). BTY, the measuring strip is a nice touch but really not needed. Just set the Grr-ripper2 against the fence after setting the fence and check to see if the blade will hit any leg. If it does, just reverse it.

Lol Russ. Not sure if I have seen your videos. I'll check out your page.
You certainly do not need to use the Color Coded Index, but it is actually pretty convenient once you start using it.

@@Microjig Have you checked out my gripper, yet? Maybe you should send me a Grr-ripper2 Go to compare to my version. I would be more than happy to do an honest video about my findings :>).

I like the offset idea and how quick that is. But the sticker thing is a bit much. The appeal of this is how quick and easy it is, the sticker thing is just unnecessary and complicated when you can simply look at it and the blade

    • @Microjig
      @Microjig  ปีที่แล้ว

In that case, you need not use it! We created this tool for newer woodworkers who will like and use the Color Coded Index, and for contractors on the jobsite who likely will not use it.
What we are finding is that current GRR-RIPPER owners are liking the 2 GO as well since it is so quick for simple cuts.
