The part where it seemed like the entity was trying to get in the car was terrifying. Some glass, pieces of metal and a gun that didn't have much means of protection, we're all this guy had while he was at death's door.
So the previous victim shot his own family I reckon. He said he shot intruders and he cried over it but didn't know why he cried. The entity made him forget who his family were, he saw them as intruders and shot them. Some deep part of him knew what he'd done so he cried.
@MalleusSolum Maybe, but the author, Saturdead, likes to fill his stories with small details like that without spelling them out of the reader. My thoughts were that there could have been two guns, and it's just another thing that the narrator had forgotten. Another thing that stood out to me was the lighter. It seemed really odd to specifically mention that they didn't smoke anymore but still carry around a lighter, just in case. I was thinking that there might have been a second person with him that he completely forgot about. Maybe they sacrificed them to the thing so that they could leave unharmed. If that was the case, it also could have been the person he came with who was trying to open the car door at the end, but by that point they had already forgotten what they were doing and why they were there.
I listened to this while I was stoned as I fell asleep and it was even more terrifying. I woke up with half memories of it and felt like the narrator 😂
The ending gave me the chills, this is horror that creeps in, the ominous feeling that is all over the house, and the entity.... God damn, what a great story!
This is the second story where if you enter a house and start the fireplace, you're f*ked. The other one was about a guy almost freezing to death in the woods and finding a cozy house with a fireplace and a huge library of diaries. Basically, we should avoid abandoned houses with a fireplace and a preserved library.
Stories like this are awesome. Phycological dredd, mysterious creatures, abandoned homes/structures. As always, great narration. Been years creeps, and gotta say, never a disappointment.
@@zuttoaragi8349 I'd love to see a movie with a creature like that ngl. And I want it to be told from the main character's perspective so that we don't know WHAT is going on until they figure it out themselves. Scary shit
Film Theory: the reason the entity didn’t attack the narrator was because it either: A. Remembered what the shotgun does, but not how ( similar to how the narrator knows what the entity does, but not in what way) as it didn’t get to absorb that knowledge or that knowledge nutrients was spent before the knowledge of the gun’s purpose B. It didn’t care to remember how many shots the shotgun couldn’t hold, or wasn’t able to siphon it C. Only wanted a certain quantity of memories or one specific one and left when it had its fill D. Isn’t actually a physical creature and can’t easily affect physical objects, so it’s more efficient or fun to just attack mentally
It sucks when you have a lot of common knowledge that ruins the set up or pay-off of a good creepy story. "No one has ever lived here." "Then why all the furniture?" Right, because houses up for sale NEVER have any setting furniture. For that matter, there are houses on bomb testing ranges that are fully furnished up to and including foods. There are tons of reasonable, non-creepy reasons for an old abandoned house that's fully furnished.

Creepy carving on a dilapidated shack where nobody goes definitely beats cold feet. Come back in the morning. This is a time to be a coward with no shame.
No, that's entirely the point. It's a creature that consumes memories. Your memories of itself, recent memories, older memories. It's meant to be disjointed and strange, because that's how it affects the character.
Love your narration,, recently got into a new narrator as well,, his sound effects and the fact he has a girl do the parts that are women definitely slap but no one compares to you my boy

This is the most unfocused writing I’ve ever heard, and even though the author is attempting to convey a dozen ideas at once none of them go anywhere…..
He forgot to pick up his cat from his mom's place!!!
The true horror in the story
Lol “I get the feeling I lost something” yeah homie, your cat.
I like how the fireplace and entity were connected. Start a fire and the wood is consumed. The entity is summoned and memories are consumed.
My 1st thought would have been. “ no one has ever LIVED in this house? But how many people have DIED here?” Yes I listen to a lot of scary stories lol
I thought along the same lines as "no one has ever survived this house"
i would have read it the same way, so how many died here then......🤘🏻🤘🏻
I thought the same thing.

That's what it felt like to me as well
Didn’t think of that but yah I agree
I thought to as well. Did anyone else notice that the narrator calls the gun a rifle and a shotgun interchangeably?
@@Satans_Little_Helper Yeah I noticed that. I think that's just the writer not understanding the difference.

I think that just makes the story more creepy
This is one of my favorite creepypastas I’ve ever heard, the story and concept are so cool!
This was modern lovecraftian terror done excellently.
This one scared me I have the fear of not having complete control of my senses and memories
I have a family member who has dementia… it made me wonder if this is what they feel like as the disease progresses…

No, that's entirely the point. It's a creature that consumes memories. Your memories of itself, recent memories, older memories. It's meant to be disjointed and strange, because that's how it affects the character.
I feel like there was no cursed house. No entity. Rather, this was a depiction of the experience of someone with late stage dementia.
Funny.. I would of thought the door carving would of said.
" Abandon all hope, ye who enter here " 😏😊😊
so the entity is amnesia ? mixed with schizophrenia ?
even young people can get premature amnesia
