@@netnet123112 They would top spin and top spin again all day, against top level back spin. They would not just strike the hell out of the ball like this. Now you see that kind of strike very often against pips variations. The ball is less difficult.
Darko trusts his backhand loop more than his perfectly good forehand! He even sometimes steps all the way over to his forehand side to execute a strong backhand loop! Ma Te needs to exploit that hole when Darko goes over to the forehand.
It is against standard wisdom to try and hit through a good defender with backhand. And it is very rare for players to have the backhand power as well as consistency to attempt it. But when it exists, this game shows why it is so effective. Ma could not anticipate so easily when Jorkic would let rip, nor read the backhand spin so well, so he could not come in to attack the push balls as often as he wanted. Even if Ma had a bad day and Jorkic had a good one, it was still a fine display of unrestrained backhand topspin.

They're definitely more speedy than spinny, but that ball isn't getting over the net without adequate topspin. If you listen to the sound on contact, there is definitely some brush in there.

He playes in the german Bundesliga for my hometown Saarbrücken. He was able to defeat timo boll like 3 months ago. He plays in the same team as Patrick Franziska.
Ma Te used to be the most leathal chopper. What happened? It seems like he changed his bh-rubber to a faster one and less dangerous. The last few fames of him weren't that good anymore. And Darko played very goid i must admit.
That's why they should innovate. You're absolutely right - Ma Te has next to no attack and his long pips are way too predictable. Choppers, as with all other playing styles, should keep up with the evolution of the game. Ma Te's style is even more ancient than Matsushita Koji and badly needs a facelift.
Ahmed Bin Zahid, joo se hyuk wasn't stable enough and could lose everyone even at his peak. BTW, he's also good at attacking. This style of play relies too much on the opponent's forced errors, which doesn't happen often in a professional match.
