Wow, this was not a table tennis match, but an edge of the seat thriller. Everyone knows about Ma Te, but I cannot tell how much impressed I am with Pavel - very strong player particularly against chopping, in spite of his seemingly odd techniques.
Ну как то он вообще плохо сделал. Накручивает ему накручивает, тот срезает и потом просто накатом очень лёгко забивает. Можно было столько раз просто взять и долбануть ударом, а не крутить, и выйграл бы.
great match, every game was close. Platonov handles the backspins very well, better than many of Ma Te's Chinese teammates. Ma Te's offense is good though and he can go for more slams when his opponent is handling his backspins.

Pavel exhausted all his energy. He cold have played a bet strategy. loop some push some to move Ma around. That's the go to strategy that works against choppers. Trilling match.
IKE KENNETH I said the same thing once in a match with Ding Ning vs chopper and was told by YT experts I was totally wrong. My point was that you might be able to loop 15 balls in a row but if it doesn’t give advantage then why do it. Mix it up constantly.
@@Al-ImprovEd2022 if you watch chinese players play against good choppers they always switch it up. its easy to chop than to loop especially if you are chopping with long pips.

Platonov plays very well against choppers (maybe he's used to Chtchtinine style) but lacked of mental toughness. He wasted at least two games that must have won.

Pavel is good against chopper player, because he is very patient. Against chopper you need a lot of patience. Pavel got it.
This match could of been a series on Netflix.

why doesn't Ma Te chop on his FH as often? it used to be his signature shot due to how spinny it was, most players couldn't return it.
probably because of platonovs forehand s got mostly side spin than topspin.
