You might be able to look up the person and her full autopsy if you want.
Also, the clip of the supposed infant doesn't make sense. I've seen dead bodies, rotting ones, and gutted a dead thing myself. That wasn't exactly a baby, the flesh would be much smaller, more discolored, and the water wouldn't be water and more like a sludge.
It was probably a dead animal at most left behind (straps for probably transportation home or something, maybe fishing or hunting with the water being so clear), although who really knows.

Oh my god the same thing happened to me, I was in a wave poo, I got dragged in on a floaty (I call the little rings floaties) by the waves, people where crashing into me and it caused me to fall off the one I was clinging onto for dear life. I was under the water, with a good like 10 feet of water under me, and I couldn't see, I was feeling around and grabbed onto someones leg, I basically used their leg to pull myself back up, and I coughed up all the water I had in my mouth, they saw that and pushed me off, probably thinking I was playing around, I pushed off of them and saw the emergency ladder, I climbed up the ladder as fast as I could and spat out all the water that was left behind. I was then told by the lifeguard that was sitting with her sunglasses on and her legs folded, and she just sassily told me, "That ladder is for emergencies only-" I threw any water I had on my arm at her and walked off. There was another time a few years later where I felt the confidence to try it again, and basically the same thing happened, if it wasn't for the kind person that gave me their floaty I would probably be dead, I made sure to give my floaty to a kid that seemed alone, I didn't want them to do what I did. I can't swim to this day, but I don't think I will ever go back to the wave pool, I have risked drowning way too many times, (not just in the wave pool mind you).

I’ve worked as a lifeguard for a few summers, and remember watching those spot the drowning videos as part of my new hire training. It’s terrifying to think how quickly and silently drowning can happen, but having that knowledge really keeps you alert and focused.

    • @anglepsycho
      @anglepsycho 2 ปีที่แล้ว +21

It's weird having training while being someone who was dying being held down by someone intentionally trying to drown you.
My younger cousin was holding my head down when we were little and I remember seeing my vision go out in black and my lungs feel weird and heavy before my step mom yanked me out and shouted at me for being a moron while I was later coughing and puking water up.

Not a lifeguard, but a few weeks ago at a pool party with some family and friends, i had to pull a 4 year old out of the water who slipped into the deep end. When it first happened, i wasn’t too freaked out by it, but when everyone started freaking out when we realized he wasn’t breathing, it really hit me. The worst part about it was the water. Water came out of both his nose and mouth for a solid few seconds, yet he was still completely limp. Thankfully, the kid is fine now, but ever since then, drowning has become a really bad anxiety for me.

@@steamedhams3056 same thing happened to me when I was 6 years old, just a month before I turned 7. I had 2 pool noodles and thought I could jump in the pool on them like those pony toys with stuffed animal pony/horse heads on a stick that kids pretend to ride around on. Well, I accidentally jumped in too deep because I wasn't paying attention to the depth markers. Note, this was at an end of the year pool party at my teachers house and there were a ton of other 7 year olds there with their parents. My dad was there but he was sitting on the opposite side of where I jumped in and the parents were sort of the untrained lifeguards. My teacher's adult daughter helped when kids needed pulled out. I wasn't the only kid that nearly drowned that day, there were 2 others besides me. Also, I didnt know how to swim at 7. I could kind of doggy paddle but thats about it.
Well anyway, I jumped in and immediately lost the pool noodles as they slipped out from under me. That sort of knocked me backwards and under, and I slipped like, 3 feet under the water. I remember looking up, seeing the surface, and struggling to get back up, but not once was I able to get there, no matter how hard I tried. I could even see one of the pool noodles and tried grabbing at it to pull myself up, I did grab 1 which was kind of sinking down a bit and it didn't help me get back up, though. It just kind of popped back up to the surface when I tried to use it to pull myself up. Although, that might've been something one of the adults noticed that was a sign I was actively drowning. If I'd been a little older, like even 9 or 10, I would've just doggy paddled to the shallow end and just stood up when I got there. However I was so young and panicking that it didn't occur to me. I also didn't know how to use my legs well in water and didn't know I could push downward with my arms and with my legs doing the frog motion to get to the surface. I was under and struggling for almost 2 minutes and it felt like forever. I could see the sun and the surface was right there but unreachable.
I looked up at the sun as I got tired and I remember it getting really bright and whiter and my vision started blacking out and tunneling, looking a lot like the media trope and real phenomenon of "seeing a bright light at the end of the tunnel" which I saw, literally a few seconds before I would've lost consciousness and inhaled water thus completely drowning. My teacher's adult daughter pulled me up out of the pool right before I blacked out. My dad said he'd taken his shoes off and was getting ready to take his shirt off and dive in to pull me out but thankfully the daughter was closer and dressed for the pool and get in quicker.
I didn't end up learning how to float properly till 10 or 11 and didn't learn how to actually swim until 14 in high school PE. I hated it because we also had to do diving and I was having a friggin panic attack when I was forced to dive or get an F for the course. I still, to this day, immediately panic if i have to hold my breath any longer than 30-45 seconds. After that, I'll have a visceral response and almost like a reflex I'll gasp in air. I don't think my body would do that underwater, I'd hope not. Though, I do know no one could pay me enough to take a cruise or get on any boat in the ocean, the sea, or any really large lake like the great lakes in the US and Canada. If i cant see land, that's a no for me. The ocean terrifies me to no end and on a beach, I refuse to go any deeper into the ocean than where my feet can touch the bottom lol.
Sorry about the novel but if anyone reads this, thank you. 😊

I’m gonna take a stab at interpreting “she died in India two years later”.
I think it’s an art piece, first of all. I believe the meaning may be something along the lines of how future tragedy can spoil good memories. If there wasn’t the repeating voice reminding us that the girl in the video would die in India two years later, it would probably be incredibly pleasant: it is, otherwise, just nice music and beautiful art that probably represents good memories that the narrator had with the girl who died in India two years later.
Often times, when someone passes, it can be hard to look back on pleasant memories with them as the context of their passing makes the memory so much more painful.
As for the poem at the end, I’m not really sure, but someone in the comments of the unlisted video said the poem it was from was about a girl leaving for India and a guy reflecting that he would never see the love of his life again, which would fit quite well with my interpretation.
Well, that’s what I got out of it, anyways.
Tl;dr: “She died in India two years later” is probably about how death sours once-good memories

I'll always remember the story my dad told me, the time I almost drowned at age 5 and the life guards did nothing. According to my dad, I went on the water slide and sunk to the bottom due to my weight, my dad described yelling for the life guards to help for them to completely ignore him and pass it off as nothing serious. Of course, he saved me. When the staff realized I was actually drowning they apparently apologized and begged my dad to not take this to court. Apparently that life guard next to the slides was fired. Even if it's a made up story from my dad, I do see life guards ignore what looked like kids barley recovering from diving down in the 9ft pool, they are almost always never sitting in the chairs, instead they are chatting at the snack bar with no guard near the pool.

He held me under the water trying to drown me over and over. What’s worse is the parents and life guards just stood there occasionally saying “hey now” or “come on”. Eventually I snapped and punched him in the face. But I got in trouble for punching him. He didn’t get in trouble for trying to drown me. So weird.
