I've made several of these cabinets over the years and am always looking for new ideas. I found one with your sandpaper storage. I've probably got a dozen different grits and now have a box with drawers for each grit. Combining more than one grit on a pullout tray integrated in the cabinet is a great space saver. Looks like I'm going to be building another cabinet soon. - Chris

Nice. Couldn't the table saw blade portion just be a piece of plywood with a short dowel that's the size of the arbor?
Thanks Tommy for sharing your ideas! There are three things to consider when upgrading this cabinet: 1) The cleaner the contacts of the chargers, the better the quality of the charging process. There is inevitably dielectric microdust in the air, which will be deposited on the contacts. Therefore covers are needed for each charger. 2) Why drill such a big hole, you can only drill for the wire, which you pull inside by disassembling the extension cord socket block. 3) You will have to remember what's in the center drawer, because even when you pull it out you can't see what's there. Therefore, the front wall of the drawer can be replaced with acrylic, adding LED lighting inside.
Good ideas. It's probably the best possible scenario to have covers on the chargers, but it's easy enough to clean the contacts should they ever need it and they hardly ever need it. I had to drill the hole just big enough for the power strip to fit in the cabinet. Anything I take apart has to be put back together through the hole inside the cabinet. The drawer idea is a good one. I do remember what's in the drawer, but getting to it isn't the most efficient since I take it out and put it on the bench to see what I'm getting. Ideally, this could be mounted much lower, but I'm going to put cabinets underneath it, so it needs to be at this level. Thanks for the feedback!

Great cabinet. Way more sensible than the dedicated cordless drill/driver versions. This could become a modular or expandable plan for even more things. Cool. You just gave me a thought! Also, I definitely would have hinged that charger shelf. That would make your life so much easier, plus a little extra storage for random stuff, like extra cash from product endorsement deals!
Definitely would hinge it if I did it again. And, I've already ditched the drawer, so there's always those things I would do different!

Really nice. Thoughts on the charging shelf being pinned (dowels?) at the top and not glued in so it can pivot up to get behind it for plugging in/out and whatnot?
That's a great idea. I could see a design where you can pick it up off of the dowels. This one is attached with pocket screws and not glued, but it still can't be removed. That might be a change that I make in the future.
@@OutoftheWoodwork using a piano hinge is a quick and easy implementation to just lift the top and access the batteries. Personally I would also include a switch for the battery chargers, dont like those green lights when all the batteries are full of charge.
But that is the beauty of creating your own cabinets!
Exactly my idea. I would have used a couple of hinges so it can be lifted. And I would add a strip of wood on the front so the chargers can't slide off of it.

Serious issue with the drawer. The center of teh drawer is just at your eye level (in the video) so, how d'ya see what's init?
I ended up removing it and just stacking stuff on the shelf.
